But no matter how much we want it, sometimes we get in our own way. Certain zodiacs build walls around their hearts so high, it’s almost impossible for anyone to break through. Here are the five star signs who armor themselves against love, and how astrology explains their inaccessible hearts.

Aries

Aries people are fiery and passionate, so they love being in love – but they mostly enjoy the early stages of relationships, and have a hard time turning the initial spark into a long-lasting flame. One of the biggest barriers around Aries’ hearts is their fighting spirit. Ruled by Mars, the “warrior planet,” Aries natives are naturally combative and aggressive. They NEVER back down from a fight, and they start little arguments because they actually enjoy debating – and winning. Besides the challenge of making relationships go the distance, Aries people can’t let themselves lose an argument or stop picking fights. This greatly hinders their ability to find true love, and they need to put the sword down and look for meaningful connections instead of short-lived passion if they want to find a soulmate.

Cancer

Oh, Cancers… all they want is to be loved, but the sign of the crab can’t help but hide behind their tough outer shell. Although they may at first appear tough and gruff, they’re actually sweet little cinnamon rolls on the inside. The reason they’re so guarded is that they’re afraid of getting hurt – as a water sign, they’re sensitive and emotional, and they know it. They don’t want to let someone into their heart, just to have it broken. They need someone with the patience, understanding, and determination to break down their walls and give them the level of devotion and commitment they crave. Although Cancers have a hard time letting people in, once someone earns their love and trust, they’re in their armored hearts for life. 

Virgo

Virgos have two special ways of armoring their hearts against love: setting impossible standards, and trying to “fix” their partners. Virgos are notoriously picky and meticulous – they don’t like the messiness, unpredictability, and lack of control that comes with romantic relationships. If someone doesn’t fit their checklist to a T, they lose all interest. On the other hand, sometimes Virgos make exceptions and couple up with someone who doesn’t fit their criteria – with the intention of “fixing” them or turning them into the perfect partner Virgos wants them to be. But it’s impossible to change someone else, especially if they don’t want to change – and it can be very hurtful to date someone who only likes you for your potential, not who you are. 

Capricorn

Capricorns are complicated, and many of them end up finding love later in life because they are so resistant to it. As an earth sign, Capricorns are logical and practical, so they tend to follow their heads instead of their hearts. Although they actually feel very deeply, Capricorns have a hard time getting in touch with their emotions, and an even harder time expressing how they feel. They want to let someone special in, they just don’t know how to do it – it doesn’t come naturally to them at all. Plus, their goals and ambitions tend to take priority over finding love. They’re also fiercely independent and don’t want to appear as if they NEED anyone else. It takes a lot to break through the armor around a Capricorn’s heart, but when it happens, this serious zodiac sign will be devoted for life. 

Aquarius

Aquarians aren’t particularly concerned with finding love, so they’re not especially motivated to break down the walls they have around their hearts. Thanks to their ruling planet Uranus, Aquarians are naturally rebellious and contrary – they want what they can’t have, so the second someone shows romantic interest, they run away. They also dislike conventions, so they avoid traditional relationship milestones like marriage, or even the typical commitments. They’re very independent and value their freedom, and they won’t give that up for just anyone. It’s a true challenge for them to find someone who meets their very specific needs: someone who makes them feel secure and understood, while still keeping them intrigued and excited – oh, and also gives them plenty of space.

The Texas A&M-led team published the work in Nature Communications. They amputated the middle bone of a neonatal mouse’s digit, a cut that normally heals over with scar tissue and never grows back. Then they waited.

Four days in, once the skin had closed on its own, they implanted a single 150-micron bead soaked in FGF2 at the center of the wound. Five days after that, a second identical bead soaked in BMP2. No stem cells, no scaffolding, just two timed protein signals released locally over about three days each.

FGF2 stopped the wound from scarring and coaxed local fibroblasts into a blastema, the mass of unprogrammed cells salamanders use to regrow lost limbs. BMP2 then told those cells what to build. About 95.5% of treated digits regenerated a new fingertip bone through the same endochondral process embryos use, complete with a growth plate, a marrow cavity, a cartilage cap, a separate sesamoid bone, and a synovial joint lined with lubricin-producing cells and connected to the original tendon.

Lineage tracing showed the new tissues came from ordinary wound fibroblasts that changed fate based on where they sat and what signals they received. “You don’t have to actually get stem cells and put them back in,” study author Ken Muneoka says. “They’re already there. You just need to learn how to get them to behave the way you want.”

The catch is that this is a newborn mouse and a very small structure. Adult tissue is less plastic, larger injuries need vascular and nerve integration the study didn’t tackle, and the regenerative response weakens with age. Organs that have to keep working to keep you alive leave no window to regrow at all, so donor transplants aren’t going anywhere soon. BMP2 is already FDA-approved for bone grafting, though, so the nearer-term payoff may be steering human wounds away from scarring in fractures, cartilage damage, and osteoarthritis long before anyone regrows a finger.

Senator Mark Warner, the committee’s vice-chair, said on June 11 that General Joshua Rudd, who leads the NSA and the Pentagon’s Cyber Command, briefed him on the breach. Rudd’s words, as Warner repeated them: Mythos got in “not in weeks, but in hours.”

Mythos is the reason Anthropic invented a new tier of caution. The model is so good at finding hidden flaws in software that the company refused to release it publicly, instead granting access to roughly 200 vetted partners under an initiative called Project Glasswing, Bloomberg reported. Core participants include Amazon, Apple, Google, Microsoft, Nvidia, JPMorgan and the Linux Foundation. Anthropic says Mythos Preview has already surfaced thousands of “zero-day” vulnerabilities, including a 27-year-old flaw in OpenBSD, one of the most security-hardened operating systems in the world.

The disclosure landed the same week the Trump administration banned foreigners from using Mythos 5 and Fable 5, Anthropic’s most powerful models. Anthropic says the order came after the government discovered Fable 5 could be jailbroken. The ban swept up allies too, including the Five Eyes partners (Australia, Britain, Canada and New Zealand) and locked Britain’s AI Security Institute, the world’s leading body for testing and jailbreaking frontier models, out of the systems it had been auditing.

It’s a sharp turn from Trump’s earlier posture on AI. He spent months rolling back the previous administration’s AI rules, cleared advanced chip sales to China, and on June 2 issued an executive order asking labs to voluntarily share new models with the government before release. Now access is being yanked overnight, and the government body that vets frontier models for dangerous capabilities has been told to stop publishing its reports.

Helen Toner of Georgetown’s Centre for Security and Emerging Technology told The Economist the foreigner ban is “essentially equivalent to preventing any company affected from doing any further AI R&D work,” given how many foreign nationals staff American AI labs. Spy agencies are already in talks to get their access back.
