Five Things I Love and Hate on Caylabne Bay Resort

1. The location : The trees and winding road will blow your mind away from the hustle and brustle of the Manila. Passing through mountains and rain forest, twas a two hour and a half drive. The fact that it is hidden in a cove makes it perfect for having privacy. With a total land area of 160 hectares, it is surrounded by neighboring island such as Corregidor, El Fraile, Caballo, La Monja and Carabao Island. Caylabne's front gate is at the top of the hill, and from there you will see the beautiful ocean view.

2. The experience of passing by in Magnetic Hill : My brother in-law put our vehicle on neutral and told us to checked it out. In few seconds, the van moved in reversed, just like were being pulled from behind. Also our van seems crawling even though the road seems at level (I guess!) You will experience this when you pass along the Magnetic Highway in Ternate Cavite.

3. Wide range of activities to choose from: Plenty of beach chairs are around, where one can chill while watching sunset or just bay watching. Swimming, snorkeling, banana boat ride, kayaking and aquatrike are among the water sports one can enjoy. The resort has a mini-golf area, basketball, badminton and tennis court, walking trails, business center and restaurant. The restaurant has free WIFI, just ask them for the password.

4. Picture perfect views : We Filipinos are fond of taking pictures. At dito sa Caylabne, talaga nman pang Facebook! It really looks nice in the pictures.

5. Sunsets :I love sunsets and will never be tired of looking at it.

All of the above is the love part.

The hate part?

The Beach: sharp rocks, trash and jelly fish awaits you.
Mossy pool, mismatch tiles under.
Bringing own food inside the resort is not allowed.
Overpriced food.
Shower room clogs and missing light bulbs. We've just opened the door so that the day's light would come in, otherwise mag-ka-kapaan kami.

These are just my own views.

Challenging the rapids of Pagsanjan Falls

"If you've enjoyed the Rio Grande Rapids in Enchanted Kingdom, you will surely like the up and downstream boat ride in Pagsanjan"

Experiencing Pagsanjan Rapids and seeing the Falls are both a visual treat and a thrilling adventure. Once you're in the town of Pagsanjan, you will be taken by the banca up the river to the falls. The banca's (canoe) capacity is 4, two boatmen and 2 passengers. The bangkeros (boatmen) row the banca against the river's fearsome strong current, and navigate carefully while avoiding boulders on the way. Most of the times, the boatmen jump from rocks to steer the boat, and/or pull the banca carrying the tourist, just to avoid the edgy rocks and boulders on the way. Take note that boatmen are barefooted! Therefore, imagine how hard it is for them pulling the boat with a plus-sized passengers, barefooted in the rocky river...

Be ready to give them extra pay because for sure they will ask from
you. Charlie and I gave them Php200 tip. Remember to treat them well so they will take care of you .

MY BOATRIDE EXPERIENCE

Our exciting boatride took an hour before reaching the Main Falls, while the return trip was just about 45 minutes.

The first 15 minutes, I was relaxed and excited but when the banca started passing through boulders amidst strong current going against us, we started to shout and our hearts started to pound...
I was holding on to the banca so tight and started praying silently...
the reason why we don't have much pictures during our boat ride :-)

Thumps up for these hardworking boatmen, i couldn't believe them seeing paddling all along, cleverly skipping from one side of the boat to the other running over huge rocks or on cliff walls barefooted.

Talahib Waterfalls

I was glad that there were pauses to the fearful moments because i could breath normally again. I was astounded for i realized were being surrounded by a beautiful tropical greenery of wild orchids and trees on the high rocky cliffs. My eyes are fed and satisfied with the wonderful nature God endowed us.

We passed by Talahib Falls. During rainy season, other waterfalls swell and also become noteworthy sights like the Wedding Veil Falls, Kalukoy Falls and other nameless waterfalls. If you're looking for more adventure, be here during rainy season, but it's dangerous.

Last stopped at the Main Falls -the Pagsanjan Falls

The Pagsanjan Falls is flourishing with crystal waters flowing down a high rocky cliff. The base of the Falls was a huge swimming place. Oh the water was so cold..so we just dipped-in shortly.

There's a cave in there - called "Devils Cave". We rented bamboo raft so we could get closer to the cave and feels the falling water.... ang bigat ng bagsak ng tubig sa sa ulo at balikat!
Inside the cave you will hear the echo of the falling water, the feeling is hard to explain, nakakatakot so we just decided to go back. :-)

As we traveled back downstream, the rapids are even wilder. Our boat squeezed through the narrow gaps again but, in accelerated mode!
This time, i already learned to fully enjoy the ride and get thrilled by the rapids of Pagsanjan.. Boating downstream is more fun as we go along with the flow of the water.

Hey, you can get a fast sunburn, so beware. I got mine in legs, because i forgot to bring a towel to cover my legs while sitting in the boat. Be sure you have protection against the sun. You may opt to bring waterproof cameras, or casing to protect your gear. The resorts where we stayed gave us plastic bags so we can put our cameras/battery/ jewelries/money inside to protect it from being wet. Also you should bring extra clothes because you will surely get wet.

The boat ride is just a one-day tour. It's up to you if you are going to stay in a resort. In our case, we've arranged boat-ride with lunch at Pagsanjan Rapids Hotel.

HOW TO GET HERE

Beware of people offering you boat ride to Pagsanjan Falls far from Pagsanjan. It is advisable to book your boat ride via travel agencies or Pagsanjan Resorts directly. Do not deal with "flaggers". Flaggers are those un-accredited boatmen who will run beside your vehicle as you slow down trying to look for directions. They will surely overcharged you! Try to stop or slow down at every corner when you are in Pagsanjan and see these flaggers wildly run after you.,,just remember to say "no". :-)

There are two ways in reaching Pagsanjan, via Rizal or via South Expressway.

Via Rizal - Take Ortigas Avenue from EDSA, turn right towards Taytay from Cainta junction, pass through the rustic towns of Rizal, straight all the way to Paete, Kalayaan, Lumban and Pagsanjan town proper.
Via South Luzon Expressway - From Manila, take the South Expressway all the way through the Calamba exit. Then, just drive through following the National Highway, passing the towns of Los Baños and Sta. Cruz until reaching the town of Pagsanjan. There are hotels and resorts in Pagsanjan where tourists can stay and avail of boat services.

An Exploratory Place Worth Discovering: Eagle Point Resort

Again, sea-turtles and baby sharks as swim buddies?

With sea-turtles, yes; but go swimming together with baby sharks? Oh no!
T'was fifty times before I had convinced myself, asked for the snorkels, and plunged into the 12ft deep pool. It's my chance to view fishes up close! I just told myself i can do it and be like Agua Bendita :-).

Yes, you can swim together with the baby sharks and other marine life creatures through their so called "reef pool". Reef pool is a salt water pool filled with fish, baby sharks, sea-turtle, and others. Actually the pool is especially made as a training ground for novice scuba divers, snorkelers and those who are afraid to swim in the deep blue sea. But i heard, that they are using it too as a rehabilitation pool for injured sea creatures before they are released back into the open sea.

But, even kids can try it as well. So, if you have kids, you can bring them to the pool, and let them experience how fun snorkeling is, without having to worry for their safety, for there is no tide or current at all compared to the open sea.

There are dive masters around in the resort, and they are courteous. By the way, swimming in the reef pool is free, for it is already included in their day tour package.

If you want to learn basics or introductory of diving, 'Safety Stop Dive Shop' charges around P3000 net/per person, and snorkeling at P500/hr.

Did i see the baby sharks? No, because I didn't swim any further, remember that the pool is 12ft deep, and I'm so afraid...But i heard others, saw three. I'm not really that adventurous when it comes to water. So, in less than twenty minutes, i gave my vest and snorkels back to the shop, and just opt to swim in the fresh water pool...

The resort has 3 fresh water swimming pool, the double-level swimming pool with slide, upper pool for kids with 2 waterfalls, and the South-end pool.

My first time to see double-decked swimming pools!

Double-decked swimming pools are connected by long water slide about 30ft. The top level pool is actually for kids, not deeper than 2ft. The pool has 2 waterfalls that cascades into the side of the pool.

The South-end pool is the newest addition to their pool, and where the Maricaban, Sepoc and Sombrero islands are best viewed.

Hey, have you noticed the shirt hanging on the stairs? A handsome diver owns it. I was actually looking at him when i accidentally noticed that 3 big rocks..

1. Down under is filled with adventurous scuba divers
2. Down under is teeming with fish...

According to EPR's customer's rep, divers can find plenty of reef fish, sponges, feather stars,wahoo, skip jack and yellow fin tuna especially in the mid-water area.

Well poor me! For i don't know how to dive! So, is there anybody out there, who's interested to teach me for free? Your help is highly appreciated. :-)

Reef surrounds the resort which makes it perfect for snorkeling and diving so you don't need to go far.

,,,testing the water of deep blue sea. Iba pa rin ang snorkling sa open sea kaysa sa reef pool. Mas exciting, mas tiring at mas nakakatakot,, yet, its FUN.

By the way, on the side, at the South-end pool is a poolside bar and coffee shop. FYI, guests are not allowed to bring food or baon inside the resort. Bring extra money for the food in the resort is a little pricey.

Please don't expect for a powdery white sand beach here. EPR's beach front doesn't have these.

If you prefers a white beach, then hop on to a boat, and they will take you to their private island 'Sepoc Beach Center'.

Aside from white beach, there is also a hiking trail in here. If you are as lucky as me, you will find birds/eagles flocking to a tree or just wandering across the clear skies.

By the way, you can avail of fish foot spa for free! Yes, just dipped your feet off the water, wait for a few minutes, and small fishes will begin to bite you, painlessly, nakakagulat at mapapatalon ka :-)

And, if your budget still has room for kayaking and snorkeling, then do it here. You can rent a kayak for as much as P450/hour, and snorkling for P500/hour.

Splendid & Exploratory Place Worth Discovering

EPR is close off to many diving spots such as Sepoc, Maricaban and Sombrero Island. I've been to Sepoc, but has not completely explored it yet, so i still would like to return.

Other place worth discovering is the Sombrero Island. Will need few more bucks to get there. Remember that its P1400/boat/roundtrip, max 8 persons/boat

Anyway, EPR is not only for adventure seeking divers. You can stay at the resort, and enjoy the tranquility of life. For a leisure-life seeker like me, i enjoyed watching every tropical birds in cage, the colorful winged butterflies at the butterfly park, and billiard games i played with strangers.

And i wouldn't forget to mention the 3 huge fresh water swimming pools overlooking the ocean and a big salt-water aquarium (reef pool). If you're cool enough, take a plunge, and swim together with baby sharks, colorful fishes and sea-turtles...

Eagle Point Resort | Quick Escape from Work Chaos

Stressed?

When hassles of everyday life start to overwhelm, it is comforting to know we can escape to the warm sun and surf or swim on a beach. Luckily, Philippines has a wide great choices of beach destination located in all parts of the country...

And really lucky me, for i'm residing in Laguna, i can choose to escape quickly either to Tagaytay or Batangas. I preferred Tagaytay but my family opt for Batangas. T'was then a two hours drive from our place to Eagle Point Resort in Barrio Bagalagit, Mabini Batangas. Consulting google map, EPR is situated on the tip of the Calumpang Peninsula and on the Southern part of Balayan Bay.

Pinoy Trivia: Locals calls the town Bagalagit, from the word Bagalangit, meaning "Almost heaven"...

EPR is about 6hectares of slopping land, the biggest resort in Bagalangit. Being at the tip of the Calumpang Peninsula, it has one of the best view of the seascape.

On the road to EPR is a parched land, and no signs of the sea at first. You may think you're lost already, but hold on to your seat because you're not! A sign that you are already near ? - a rocky road along with dry brambles and grass weeds!
The road goes down more steeply and zigzags through trees.

Guests are being welcomed with drinks. The lobby opens up to the sea.

The Main core (restaurant & bar), is built in patterned to the Samoan Long House.

Looking at the main core's interior is graced with elevated ceiling supported by Narra timber and trusses. Have you ever seen a gecko? Well, gecko or tuko wanders here at Eagle Point everynight.

While waiting for our lunch, i feels so dreamy and sleepy watching wonderful seascape. I feels so close to nature and feels my soul get rejuvenated and my body re-energized.

Birdwatching (in cage!)

After dropping our bags to our room, we headed right away to their aviary and see their collection of birds.Pheasants, hawks, albino peacock and a gang of toucans complete the line up of their tropical birds collection. Play Games

The weather's hot, and is unhealthy to skin, so I decided not to swim in the pool until 2PM. I stayed for a while in their game room, and tried playing billiards for the 1st time.

There are still other options: darts, table tennis, and they have tennis court, too.

Swimming (in pool)

Eagle Point is a dive resort, so it is inadvisable to swim on resort's beach side for its too rocky. If you want to swim on the beach, you need to transfer on their private island, that's about 15-20 minutes boatride. I am referring to their Sepoc Beach Center, its a white-sand beach, plus a nice place for snorkeling. I've been there 5 years ago, and we really enjoyed our stay there. However we didn't go there this time for our budget is limited. Boat ride will cost P1400 round trip/boat/8persons.

So, we just indulge ourselves to their 3 fresh water pools...

Snorkeling

For novice snorkelers like me, EPR has especially made a salt-water pool, wherein you can swim together with the baby sharks, sea-turtles and other sea creatures, so it feels like you're in a sea.

I am referring to the "Reef pool". The pool has sandy bottom and is 12ft deep.

This is great for those who are afraid to swim/snorkel in an open sea. It also serves as a training pool for novice divers. By the way, the charge is P500/hour for snorkeling.

But of course, there is nothing like snorkeling in an open sea...

Diving (ooppps, just day dreaming)

If you want to learn basics or introductory of diving, 'Safety Stop Dive Shop' charges around P3000 net/per person.

Are there eagles in Eagle Point Resort?

Known as the Philippine's premier dive resort in Batangas, are there eagles, too, in Eagle Point Resort? This is the question that first popped out of my mind upon hearing the invitation from my sister to come with them. It was year 2005, when my itchy feet first landed on EPR's acquired Sepoc Beach. Sepoc Beach Center is EPR' s private island and its about 20 minute boat ride from the main resort. For snorkeling novice like me, i considered it already a great one for its extensive coral reef garden lies not far away from the beach.

Meanwhile, to answer the question, YES. In fact, EPR is named after the white-hooded kites that play and hunt the area.

Luckily, i was able to saw some birds flocking freely in one of the island's secluded area. But, i'm not a birdie expert, so I'm not sure what kind of bird specie it is.

I guess it was between 2PM to 3PM, (I'm not wearing a watch) when I begun hearing some noises from birds. Out of curiousity, i followed these winged creatures flew from one tree to another, until finally discovered to where they flocked! It was a mixed reaction of amazement and fear! Amazement, for that's one of a kind experience! Fear, because I've realized I am alone, and well, a few meters away from the main cottage. So i hurriedly went back. My only regret was that, i didn't bring my handy video camera when i followed them.

That was five years ago.

Thanks to my sister, for she invited me again to EPR. A lot of things changed in five years. Cottages are renovated, there are more deluxe rooms now than before, and there is an additional swimming pool, located on the south-end of the resort.

Once again, I have experienced birdwatching. But, by this time, it is BIRD WATCHING in CAGES! :-) Yes, these birds are in cages. EPR has a walk-through aviary now, in which they say is the largest aviary among Batangas. Pheasants, hawks, albino peacock and a gang of toucans complete the line up of their tropical birds collection.

Come-backing with a vengeance, i have my camera with me, ALL THE TIME.

By the way, right next to the children's pool and playground, (yes, EPR has children's playground, too), is a butterfly park. So, for butterfly lovers out there, you may check out their collections and see in person these multicolored butterflies fluttering their wings throughout the netted park.

My trip to EPR is not complete for we didn't visit the Sepoc Island again. T'was only a day tour, so there's really no more time, and the tide is high.

So, i wonder how the island looks right now? Are there still birds wandering across the sky?...

Sand flea bites from Bohol

Did you know that there are unseen insects that live in the sand beach?

Until a week ago, I haven't. I just learned it from the dermatologist that the culprits for these itchy bumps on my arms and legs were sand fleas. Three of us ( with Millete & Bien ) experienced bites of sand fleas along the shore of Panglao beach in Dumaluan, Bohol. You won't notice their bites, for they are too small. It was only a day after that the bites were extremely itchy. I had the worst, because the doctor said it reacts most on those with sensitive skin. I have it in almost all parts of my body. Dr. Mendoza, of Mega Clinic's prescription costs me almost P500 for the cream (Clobetasol Propionate) and anti histamine (Cetrizine HCL).

I have the pictures below for you to look at how my sand flea bites developed in just 2days:

I have these bites as keepsakes, wonderin' how many weeks it will be completely healed. ..

Given a chance to visit the famous white sand of Bohol one more time?
Why not ? But this time, ill bring anti bacterial ointment with me. I'll be ready with my 500 peso worth anti bacterial cream!

Just a short glimpse on Cebu City

Our Day 3 in Cebu City.
T'was 5PM when we arrived in Cebu via Supercat Ferry. Time is limited so we visited right away the famous Magellan's Cross. It is just afew steps away from the Basilica Minore del Sto Nino church, and just in front of the city hall.

Magellan's Cross in downtown Cebu

The cross is situated at a small chapel along Magallanes Street. The street is named after the Portuguese explorer, Ferdinand Magellan, who discovered Cebu. Rumor has it that the cross is a replica that was placed by the Spaniards when they successfully colonized the Philippines.

How to get here?

You can take public utility jeepneys with signboard "City Hall" or "Basilica", or may ride on a taxi.

Basilica Minore del Sto. Nino
Just right beside the Magellan's Cross, is a century built church, Basilica Minore del Sto. Nino. To date, people are flocking to the church, as the Sto. Nino is miraculous as they say.

Cebu's Pride Danggit, at the Tabo-an Dried Fish Market

Our last stopped at the Tabo-an dried fish market to buy "pasalubong", such as dried pusit, danggit and dried mangoes.

I enjoyed our "market tour" because of the "free taste" being offered by every market vendor. I'm almost full because of the free rice and free taste of danggit and pusit everywhere! Plus, they 're offering discounts, especially for bulk orders.

TIP: The pungent smell of dried fish sticks to your clothes.

By the way, for those who don't know yet, DANGGIT is a salted dried fish best paired with hot rice and dipped in vinegar (with or without chili). We, Filipinos eat it with bare hands...The danggit fish is truly Cebu's pride. Try it!

Panglao Island Summer Get-away

DUMALUAN BEACH RESORT 2, Panglao Island

This is one among the cheapest places to stay in Panglao Island. It does not have the amenities of the higher end Bohol Beach Club or Alona Beach Resort but it has a great beach front just like Alona or BBC. It is located next to Bohol Beach Club and their beach fronts are adjacent to one another.

Dumaluan Resort has its own stretch of white beach. It is better to stay here if you prefers serenity, but if you like the Bora-like crowd, then Alona Beach/Kew is right for you.

You can choose either to stay in hotel/cottage/suite. The place has re-creation area and fresh water swimming pool. Pool is open until 10PM.

There is a live band at night and free WIFI within the restaurant.

By the way, the resort is just beside the Bohol Beach Club. Hence, you can experience both the resorts and tour Bohol Beach Club beachfront, just like we did! It is just like hitting two birds with one stone.

Alona beach is not that far away from Dumaluan, but we were unable to visit it, because of the time constraints.

Best of friends

I called these monkey and crocodile as best friends. But somehow, I pity the crocodile for her scales are being removed by the monkey one by one! The said cage is just beside the resort's swimming pool, and one of the main attraction for kids.

Boiled bananas for merienda

We bought it from the local vendors who dropped by the shoreline.

For dinner, we dine-in at the Dumaluan Beach Restaurant. As expected, the food is quite expensive, or over-priced ( I believe so). If you are in a budget try the other-Dumaluan Beach Grill, which is just nearby.

We have not experienced island hopping nor dolphin watching while in Bohol due to time constraints.

TIP:
You must allocate one day for island hopping activities; for the island tour starts as early as 5AM, so you can have whale watching.

Going There On Your Own?

Start right in Tagbilaran. Take a jeepney towards Panglao (Tagbilaran-Daois-Panglao) at the Dao Intergrated Terminal, beside Island City Mall. Be sure to ask the driver if the jeepney goes to tawala and inform him to drop you off at the intersection going to Dumaluan (P25 jeepney fare, 30 minutes travel time). There were a few single motorcycle drivers or “habal-habal” parked at the intersection to take you straight to the Dumaluan Beach Resort.

The sun-kissed Chocolate Hills in Bohol

I still couldn't get over tarsiers, especially when i saw how they turn their heads 180 degrees around and though they have big eyes, their eyes are sensitive to light. Therefore, taking pictures with them with flash on is highly prohibited, otherwise tarsiers would commit suicide (by banging his head).

After that face to face encounter with the tarsiers, we already headed up to the town of Carmen to see the famous Chocolate Hills. There are other 2 municipalities wherein you can precisely see the chocolate hills. Aside from Carmen, its in Batuan and Sagbayan.

T'was already mid day when we got there. The sun's heat was searing and was already hungry... Oh, and if only i had my way, i would come here early morning or late afternoon..

The view deck is on top of one of the Chocolate Hills itself. I had difficulty climbing, maybe due to sign of aging :-) Imagine it is 200 steps+. Hindi pa naman ako nag-Planax....

TIP:

Wear sunblock or bring an umbrella/cap/hat and water water or any fluid with you.

Souvenir items are expensive in this area.

The Chocolate Hills

More than a thousand chocolate hills! As expected, when we reached the view deck, there were so many people around; but due to sun's heat, many were hiding under the shades of few trees found near the wishing well, including us !

TIP:Depending on the season, you will notice that the hills will be either green or brown or even a combination of both. Actually, the name of this tourist spot was due to the color it takes during summer or the dry season. The hills get that perfect chocolate color making them look like a bunch of chocolate kisses!! But during the rainy days, the chocolate hills are usually colored in bright green.

Wondrin' how chocolate hills were formed?
Scientific explanations say that the chocolate hills were formed out of volcanic eruptions way back before.

The Chocolate Hills Jump!
There is a photo service located at the corner of the viewing deck. With big tarpaulin background of the Chocolate Hills, all you have to do is to jump higher for better effect. Creative jump shot can be done individually or by group. Some are even using broomstick as they jump!

Standard fee is P50, waiting time is around 15-20 minutes.

There were a lot of people lined up, so we just decided to do it ourselves, with real chocolate hills as background, taken with my CANON camera. Though the shot was not perfect, it's still fun-filled and in our hearts, will always be! (naks!)

Going Here By Yourself?

Start right at Tagbilaran and take a bus from Dao going to Carmen. As you ride the bus, make it a point to tell the driver before hand that you must be dropped off within the complex of the chocolate hills.

From White Beach to Sabang Beach! We booked our accommodation in Sabang Hill Resort.

As expected, there is no pristine sand, because this is a diving resort. Its quite rocky and the beachfront is docked with motor boats waiting for the next fare. On the way to Sabang Hills Resort is a narrow passage with left and right small lodging houses. Therefore if you are on a budget, you may consider these lodging houses. Sabang Hill Resort itself is nice and beautiful. The hotel has a nice view of Sabang Beach from hill top. I recommend you to take higher rooms for a better view.

You should not pass up a vacation in Bohol by not experiencing their famous river cruises...

Past 12:PM already when we headed down from the Chocolate Hills. Our tour package includes river cruise and dining via Rio Verde Floating Restaurant...Meals are pegged @Php 300 per person, eat all you can, authentic Filipino and Boholano dishes.

The floating restaurant is run by motor boats and can accommodate 20 people on-board at a time. The cruise ran for an hour along the Loboc-Loay river.

There are grilled seafoods, grilled meats, native delicacies and fresh fruits. I enjoyed their ginataang kuhol, shrimp, and the pork barbecue because the meat is so tender and the glaze is just exactly sweet. I heard that the seaweed is also good but i didn't try it.
By the way, drinks are not inlcuded in the 300 peso meal. You have to pay for the drinks separately.

Guests were being serenaded while eating.

Food taste great and the songs sung by the band was quite entertaining.

Mingling with the ATIs

The floating resto stopped for a while in one of the ethnic villages. We jumped off the boat, to take pictures with them; and saw how's their village life. The Ati tribe contribute to the amusement of the tourist because of their suit and their exotic dance steps.

TIP: Picture-taking with them is free, but of course if you have a big heart, then you can give them any amount you preferred.

Bohol Country side tour

The travel was already a year ago, but the memories still lingers with me...
We're a bit slow for catching Cebu Pacific's Piso Promo, but lucky enough for Zest Air's Manila-Cebu @P488 round trip.

Day1: Ferry to Tagbilaran, Bohol
Headed our way via Ocean Jet Ferry. Cebu to Tagbilaran & vice versa one-way trip is Php 800 (Tourist Class) ; Php 1000 (Business class). Time travel is 1 hour & 45min. Actually, there are other fast crafts available also aside from Ocean Jet. TIP/WARNING: Don't leave your belonging unattended especially upon boarding time in Tagbilaran Port.

Our tour guide met us at Tagbilaran Port for our country side tour. The sculpture is situated in an open space near the Bohol Sea.

Antiquity at CLARIN'S ANCESTRAL HOUSE

The house situated in the municipality of Loay, is a very old place dating back to the 1840s.

Inside this place, are old-fashioned kneelers, rocking chairs, and dressers. Present at the site are numerous antique furniture as well as other interesting materials including kitchenware, lamps, and jars.

For hungry tourists, guests, and visitors, Clarin Ancestral House features a little dining facility called Café Olegario, which features special Boholano dishes like putomaya, hot chocolate, and torta Loayan.

Face to Face with the smallest primate ,Tarsier

Tarsier, one of the smallest primates on earth, naturally shy, and sensitive to lights.
(I'm referring to the tarsier, not me :-)

Tarsier up close, has tail longer than its body, has large mesmerizing brown eyes, hairless ears and long finger-like claws. Tarsiers can rotate their heads 180 degrees in each direction.

Meeting Prony, the famous Bohol Python

Prony is caged in Upper Sta. Felomina in the town of Albur, which is about 15 minutes away from Tagbilaran City. They used to fed Prony live chickens but due to her large consumption and the cost of chickens, they now fed her with pig or goat every month. This Python has an amazing ability to sense unsuitable food such as sick pigs and goats. Prony doesn’t like dark, spotted and dirty pigs. She chooses clean white pigs that weigh over 40 kilos. The Python is given a bath 4 times a day and celebrates her own birthday annually.

BOHOL'S MAHOGANY FOREST

I was mesmerized by the man made forest of mahogany trees stretching for more than 2km. As per our guide, it was planted by every HS graduating students during Marcos time. The moment you stepped down from the van, you can really feel that the breeze of air is so much different. Its a cool fresh air out there. The forest seldom sees the sun and most oftenly rains here. This forest stands out because of its uniformity in height, the spread of its branches and the thickness of the leaves. Truly, a nature's wonder...

Taylor Swift Rocks Manila (2011)

As early as this year, i already had one opportunity slipped. For some reasons, I wasn't able to watched Taylor Swift's concert last Feb 19 at the Araneta Coliseum. So what happened to her concert?

Good news is that there are patient You tube users out there who are more than willing to upload and share their videos.

Watching the videos from Swift's concert, the Filipino crowd really showed their support and love for Taylor. Crowd were surprised to hear Taylor Swift uttered Tagalog lines such as " Kumusta kayo, Magandang Gabi, Manila". All through out the concert,people were screaming out loud and singing along with her, to the point that i cannot almost hear Swift's voice. T'was a giant mass sing-a-long! But nevertheless, the audience background vocals made the concert more successful, which made Taylor Swift very happy as reflected from her tweets, " Manila, I adore you. And how loudly you screamed and sang during tonight's show! Pretty much my favorite sound ever. Still smiling!! "

Back to December MTV- A new Taylor Swift!

Finally, the official video of Back to December has been released. The song is the second single from Taylor's 3rd solo album, Speak now, and its about her apologizing to a love she once had. Interesting right?

Although never confirmed, there has been ongoing speculation and gossip that “Back To December,” arguably the saddest song on her album, is based on her relationship with actor Taylor Lautner.

The video was helmed by Yoanne Lemoine who also directed Katy Perry's Teenage Dream Video. According to some, there were some hidden messages or meanings on video.

I personally like the song for it is emotional yet beautifully written, so i was expecting for a video that would equate it. Sadly, its low beyond my expectation.

Anyway, the video leaves me wondering if they would still find their way back together again? Besides, the woman already apologized? ...
