OCG Update

The first OCG member to lead TMG into Afghanistan has returned after a four month deployment. His insight and intel from the time in theater is priceless, and his professionalism has set a high standard. There was no better individual to lead the team into action.

Seven Year Anniversary

It is a time to reflect on all who have poured their efforts into making TMG such a force in the EOD, CIED, Training and Security fields. Thank you to all who have been part of the TMG Team. May the last seven be a firm foundation TMG can confidently launch into new successful ventures for years to come.

A Trip to Afghanistan

Brandon Cox just returned from Afghanistan where he visited several locations across the country. His time there was spent with multiple EOD teams as well as the members of TMG’s Overseas Contingency Group (OCG). Currently, members of the OCG support various military units across the country and travel to provide life saving training.

HR Manager attends SEILG Conference

Last week the products division was busy with mobile installs of TMG’s Advanced Training Products. Brandon Erhardt was onsite in Guam USA, while Tommy Karabees and Russell Szczepaniec went to Nevada.

America’s Cup

Two of TMG’s security staff provided executive level protection at an America’s Cup event in Charleston, SC. Their protective service detail was the security of the America’s Cup Trophy. Here is a little background on the trophy:
The America’s Cup is unique and iconic as sailing’s most prized trophy, and transcends sport.
It is the oldest trophy for international competition in any sport.
Since 1851 sailors, business, entrepreneurs, designers, sailmakers, riggers, and boatbuilders have invested emotion, funds, dedication and dreams into winning it.
Only six yacht clubs in the course of three centuries have managed this: New York Yacht Club, Royal Perth Yacht Club, San Diego Yacht Club, Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron, Societe Nautiqe de Geneve and Golden Gate Yacht Club.
By way of comparison, the America’s Cup predates:
1882: The Ashes (England v Australia cricket)
1892: Stanley Cup (North America ice hockey)
1896: Modern Olympics
The trophy was made by the London company, Garrard, the world’s oldest jeweler. Garrard has been a royal jeweler since 1735. Garrard has served six successive Monarchs of the United Kingdom since 1843 from Queen Victoria onwards.
It is also linked to some of the world’s most famous gemstones including the Koh-I-Noor, Star & Africa and Poltimore Tiara.
Garrard has a long association with great sporting events. It is responsible for the Webb Ellis trophy for Rugby’s World Cup, soccer’s Premier League Trophy, tennis’ US Open Trophy, horse-racing’s Dubai World Cup, the ICC Cricket World Cup.
Garrard itself was founded in 1735, though the company traces its origins back to 1722 when George Wickes first registered his Mark at Goldsmiths’ Hall, London.

Day After Tactical Survival Training Vacation Package

Threat Management Group has just returned from its 3rd year at the NRA Annual Conference. While at the conference TMG announced its debut of the Day After Tactical Survival Course. Over the past six years TMG has been providing weapons, tactics and survival training to members of our Armed Forces. TMG has also been providing short 1 and 2 day civilian training courses. TMG has now modified some of the courses that were originally designed for combat zones with an emphasis on the basic fundamentals of survival for emergency situations here at home. With recognition of the need and desire for this information by those who have not had the opportunity to learn these skills TMG is now offering its Day After Tactical Survival Training vacation package.
