Gingerbread house in the making!

2021-12-23T22:44:00.000-08:00

Have crossed this off my bucket list 😋.

Dexter's wish was for us to make a gingerbread house. Found a fantastic recipe on Akis Petretzikis's site. He is one of my favourite Greek chefs.

Voila the results. Was a lot of fun and the best part was the quality time we spent together 💙.

Christmas 🎅 is all about being with my kids and family. Creating warm and loving memories to cherish forever.

Both learning to live with each other respectfully 💙🌟

Christmas 2020

2020-12-28T10:03:00.001-08:00

Christmas 2020 was different to other years due to COVID -19.

However, we made the best of it and still managed to have a great time only with close friends.

Stay healthy, stay sane.

Charlotte the cat

2020-12-01T12:14:00.000-08:00

Charlotte the cat, arrived from a farm on the first advent.

She came to us in a pretty bad state, underweight, with a bad cold and and an eye infection. The vet was not very amused.

However, love and care makes everything better. Little Charlotte has been with us for 2 days now and she is already thriving!

We love you little one! Welcome to our family 💙

Schnuzzy is 12!

2020-12-01T12:10:00.001-08:00

Happy birthday my first born baby!

I remember the day you were born as if it was yesterday.

My waters broke at 5am on Monday the 1st or December 2008. Four days before my due date.

However, you took your time to come into the world. You were finally born via emergency Caesarean section after 17 hours of labour at 21:46 I think it was. Need to double check that 😊.

Once you were born I could not stop looking at you. I actually wondered how on Earth had I lived my life before you were born.

You never cease to amaze me. I love how you don't give up trying when you really want to learn something. Be it a back flip on the trampoline or a jump on the scooter. You are a great sportsman and have a real talent at being good with whatever sport you do.

Love you and your beautiful heart!

Σ'αγάπω πολύ πολύ Σνουπακι μου όμορφο και αγαπημένο. 💙 Πολύχρονος, με υγεία και πολλές χαρές.

Με όλη μου την αγάπη. 🥰

Η μάμμυ σου 😻

2020 Xmas cookies

2020-11-26T18:33:00.001-08:00

Dexie and I started early this year!

Well, in a year filled with uncertainty and fear I have found great comfort in cooking and baking.

Cooking is my therapy !

We also put up all the Christmas lights in our garden to feel more festive!

Και του χρόνου αγάπη μου! 🥰💙

And now you are 10!

2020-11-26T18:28:00.001-08:00

Agapimeno mou Knubbie mou!

You were born on a sunny day in London on the 26.11.2010 at 21:26am!

That already should be a sign of how special you are! 🥰

What a year 2020 has been! We are in the middle of the second - yet light- lockdown due to COVID-19.

We have to stay home to protect ourselves from this deadly virus.

Your generation, your childhood has suffered on so many levels yet you keep on shining and smiling. You and Oskar make our lives a better and brighter place.

Every day I look at you and feel so blessed and proud to be your mommy.

You are witty, funny, stubborn, creative and ever so lovable.

I love how we cook together, how we decorate the house, go on walks with Flash, play monopoly, watch you set up your 1000 of little soldiers, play ping pong, watch you play Lego for hours ( the list could go on forever). Finally, when the day is over, I love how we hug and discuss life before going to sleep.

Have I mentioned how much I love it when we sleep together?

My love knows no limits!

Χρόνια πολλά πολύ αγαπημένο μου Ντεξουλι! Πολύχρονος με υγεία, ευτυχία και πολύ, πολύ αγάπη!

Η μαμα σου 💙

Football in the garden.

2020-02-02T11:53:00.001-08:00

Nothing makes my boys happier than when I join them at playing football - even if I am rubbish at it- they still think I am doing great 😂. Love them!

Anyway, the other day I thought I'd surprise them by getting dressed up in Oskar's gear.

The look on their faces was priceless! I think it was the first and probably the last time that Dexter wanted a picture with me!

Love how he is holding my bum on the second one! Too funny ! 🤣

Sv Löwi- indoor tournament!

2020-02-02T11:46:00.000-08:00

This weekend was full of excitement!

Dexter's team won the second place! 2 more points and they would have been first! Way to go team!!! ⚽️🏆🏅

Circus 🎪 project!

Ella and Dexie enjoying the show!

Project week - Circus

2020-02-02T11:41:00.001-08:00

In German schools students get to experience this magical opportunity called "circus project". It runs for one week whereby a professional circus sets up their tent in the school yard and trains the kids in "two" yes, two days, to achieve phenomenal results!

It's all about trust, team work and getting out of your comfort zone. It works brilliantly as kids are natural and fearless learners.

Oskar mou, I am so damn proud of you! You were fantastic!!!

Happy new year!

2020-01-11T02:34:00.000-08:00

Happy 2020! Happy new decade my loves!!!

Mommy got the coin this year! Yay!!!

We are so blessed to be healthy and surrounded by love.

Love us 💖

Our trip to Italy with the Huths

2020-01-11T02:19:00.000-08:00

We spent New Years in Nasino like last year. We were so lucky to escape the gloomy and rainy weather in Cologne to be in the Italian sunshine! Bliss!

Your Greek cousins

2020-01-11T02:15:00.001-08:00

This year we didn't make it to Athens for Christmas - actually we have never spent time in Greece.

Next year however we will be in Athens and I simply cannot wait!

Making Christmas cookies

2020-01-11T02:12:00.001-08:00

Dexie and I made our traditional Greek Christmas melomakarona!

These delicious cookies are made with olive oil, orange juice, cinnamon and honey! Simply Devine and good for you too 😉!

Dexter’s super cool graffiti party!

2020-01-11T02:10:00.001-08:00

Dexie, what a great idea you had to have a graffiti party!!

And suddenly you are 11!

2020-01-11T02:08:00.001-08:00

Schnuzzy mou αγαπημένο!!!

You have turned 11! I still remember as if it were yesterday the day you were born!

The happiest day of my life was when you were born and the second happiest when Dexter was born.

You have the kindest heart, you are funny, curious and such a joy to be around. Never loose these attributes.

Σ'αγαπω πολύ πολύ! Εύχομαι να είσαι πάντα ευτυχισμένος, χαμογελαστός και υγειής!

Your mommy 💖

The last picture is when you turned 6! Gosh time flies!

And now you are 9!

2020-01-11T02:03:00.001-08:00

Knubbie my love I am sorry for posting this so late!

Happy belated birthday - on the blog at least! Can't believe you are 9 already! Not a baby anymore like in the picture below when you were 3! How I wish I could turn back time.

I love you every minute of every day but most of all I love seeing you grow, becoming a very special person in this world!

Να τα εκατοστήσεις μωρό μου όμορφο! Πολύχρονος και ευτυχισμένος με υγεία!

Η μαμά σου σε αγαπάει αφόρητα!

Dexter’s hospital adventure

2019-09-01T22:56:00.001-07:00

So last night we passed by our old neighbourhood and the boys naturally wanted to play at their old playground .

Dexter was climbing up the slide - there is a reason why we shouldn't be doing that - and slipped. That resulted him hitting his forehand really hard. He screamed terribly loud, a scream I haven't heard in a while.

Once he finally calmed down he looked at me in a very strange way, as if he doesn't know who i am. He would pull away if I tried to cuddle him and couldn't utter a word.

To make a long story short, we called the ambulance as this was not normal behaviour.

Thank God they came immediately and rushed to hospital. At that point we didn't know whether the speech part of his brain was affected or it was the shock.

While in the ambulance he was crying and trying to say Oskar like a baby would speak. Oskar rushed to his side to calm him down. My heart melted.

After a long examination in the ER Dexter started to slowly talk. He didn't remember much at the time but his memory slowly returned.

The night was long and we hardly slept as the nurse would come in every hour to check his pupils.

I hope we get to go home today...

Parents around the world. If you see a funny behaviour in your kid once he/she has hit their head better to consult a doctor immediately! Just to be on the safe side.

Love you Dexie mou. You have been so brave. 🥰🙏

1st day of school!!

2019-08-30T14:37:00.001-07:00

1st day of Gymnasium for Oskar and first day in the 3rd grade for Dexter!

Boys I am so proud of you but you are growing up a bit too fast... let's slow it down!

Love you forever and ever. 💖

2019-07-14T10:37:00.001-07:00

This time you didn't make it to the final but you scored such an awesome goal schnuzzy mou!!! Love you and so proud of you.

Selfies galore

2019-06-23T13:04:00.001-07:00

Dexter and I were trying to figure out how to take a selfie in portrait mode with the stage light filter! Hilarious!!!

Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers out there.

2019-05-12T02:24:00.001-07:00

Being a mom is truly the hardest and most rewarding jobs in the world.

My 10 year old Oskar wrote me this wonderful card which proves that when you give love you receive love. Love heals, love helps you grow, love gives you strength, love is all you need. Period!

So blessed to have you Oskaraki and Dexie mou!

Love you more than anything!

Love you daddy for giving me such a precious gift.

Love you Flashy for giving us all unconditional love!
