With all the season finales happening on 7 this week and next, the following week is shaping up to be a very different program for 7.

Here’s the details.

1. Tuesday July 14.

7.30 pm Air Ways - which follows the ups and down of travel with budget airline Tiger Airways.

8.00pm Surf Patrol - return of new season.

2. Thursday Jul 16

9.30pm True Beauty - a US series that looks at what makes a person truly beautiful. Ten contestants will be judged on their looks, but unbeknown to them, their inner beauty as well.

3. Tuesday July 21

10.30pm 10 Years Younger - NZ version

11.00pm Gavin and Stacey - which is a new UK series, based on an Essex boy Welsh girl who fall in love.

4. Wednesday July 22

Ratings Order Thursday July 9 2009

Here are how shows performed on Thursday, July 9th, 2009 between 5.30 and 10.30pm. This is week 28 of the official 2009 ratings period.

For pretty much most of the year, Thursday night has been channel 9’s only guaranteed winning night. Well, not last night. 9 got thumped by 7. Most likely due to the fact that both Ghost Whisperer and Greys Anatomy are nearing the end of their seasons, or possibly as a result of all the shows being delayed by half an hour with Home and Away being a double episode in lieu of one not shown on Wednesday night due to extended Michael Jackson coverage. Having the shows be offset by half an hour makes it difficult for viewers to flick between as they either have to leave one half way through or start watching another show half way through.

All Saints to Finish This Year

Long-running medical-based drama All Saints has been axed after 11 years on air.

Seven’s director of programming Tim Worner said the decision was a financial one, blaming increased production costs and tougher competition.

“All Saints is a show which Seven and viewers have loved. However, an audience shift and increased production costs are behind this tough decision,” he said.

Speculation on the future of the show has been running hot recently, despite Seven announcing in June that production for the show’s 12th season in 2010 would be trimmed from the usual order of 40 episodes to only 24.

The decision to axe it means the show will now finish at the end of this year.
