If you've ever lived drum corps or have an interest in becoming a member, this is the Film to see. Excellent look at how extremely hard these young people and the volunteers who help, work. Entertaining and very well done.

My son is a marching member of a world-class corps and we all loved this video. He felt it was a very real depiction of life on tour and we enjoyed watching it with him. Anyone interested in drum corps would enjoy it. You really see the hard work and dedication it takes to march.

I am an Alumni to the DCA corps The Reading Buccaneers and have waited for ever to see a movie about drum corps and all that it entails. Most people who don't know about the true meaning of drum corps brush it off as some sort of hobby and this gives a perfect glance at the truth. The endurance, trust, heart, friendships, blood, sweat and tears that it takes to be a part of a drum corps. It is a fantastic experience and I was very pleased with how the movie was done!! I Highly recommend it to all my fellow drum corps and non drum corps friends and family. Some will appreciate the truth in this and some will learn the meaning!!! Thank you !!!

Throw it down is for drum corps nuts and people who wish to understand what it takes to perform. It is an excellent video. Learning how a DCI Drum Corps puts itself together is entertaining and thought provoking.
Well worth an evening

WOW!!!!! All I can say is WOW!!!! I'm a huge DCI fan and I loved watching every minute of this show. Never really realize how many people audition for so few spots in the corps Coats, you have my respect and my BBBBBLLLLLLLLLLUUUUUUUUUUUEEEEEEEE whenever you perform!

Great dvd...my son in law loved it and wants me to watch it. It was delivered on time and just as promised. It was a great Christmas gift.

Having shown this to my junior Corps in the UK they are beginning to understand and appreciate how much hard work goes into making a show come alive. I would recommend this to any director or instructor of a youth marching band or drum corps.

Drum Corps World is going on-lin!!! The electronic age has arrived for Drum Corps World newspaper! After 39 years as a print publication, the Madison WI-based newspaper will begin a new era on May 2. The decision was not an easy one according to Publisher Steve Vickers. "I've looked into transitioning over the years, but it wasn't viable until recently. It has become increasingly difficult recently, given postage, printing and related costs continuing to escalate. We'll release our brand-new, on-line magazine in six weeks and it will have all the same features we've offered in the past, plus much more. And no longer will we be charging for a subscription," Vickers explained. Readers can have it delivered through their computer, phone or tablet. The final printed edition, mailed to subscribers on March 17, details the process Vickers went through to make the change. Revenue from current subscribers has made this possible, along with encouraging support from advertisers. Through an agreement with High Velocity Media, monthly issues will feature page-flip technology, the ability to vist Web site 'hot spots' easily and more varied content. The writing staff is being expanded and new graphics will update th look, along with an increase in the number of photographs. We gathered with the corps after one of their shows in Texas. Drum Major Joe Beitman started to hum, so we knew something was up. The corps was forming in a circle. As the corps started to sing, John Maher, Director/Camera, Pete Stewart, Soundman and Jason (JROD) got in the middle of the group. We realized after we started that they were singing their very emotional corps song, “Autumn Leaves”. We just started tracking around the circle, lingering on some of the face we knew and came around back to Joe Beitman at the end of the song, all in one shot. It is one of our favorite moments in Throw It Down. This is amazing, I thought, we captured the heart of Drum Corps in one shot. The faces and the body language tell the story. Then it was on to the next shot.
