A nitpick, but Dovahkiin isn't really a 'silent protagonist'. There are dialogue trees, which means your character is saying the things you select; he/she has a voice, it just isn't audible. It's only 'silent' because Bethesda didn't want to pay several voice actors to voice two separate genders across however many races there are. Link is definitely a true silent protagonist otherwise.

Actually, I think the Atari lynx (1989) was the first 3D capable handheld. Games like Hard Drivin and Steal Talons used real polygonal 3D on the console.

This is one of the worst reviews I've ever read. Why? Because it's full of factual faults. It's one thing if you didn't like the game, but putting lots in incorrect statements in them is another. Link isn't out after revenge. The mask salesman asks him to retrieve his mask (Majora's Mask) and stop the moon from crashing down. Simple as that. Link shows very little concern for the townspeople because he's a silent protagonist, not because he doesn't care. Just like Link in Ocarina of Time, Chrono in Chrono Trigger or even Dovahkiin in Skyrim. That's how silent protagonists work. The "doom timer" is almost an hour long, almost three hours if you use the Inverted Song of Time which you learn very early in the game. That is NOT an "alarming rate". That is called a challenge or level of difficulty. And three hours is hardly a challenge for anyone to finish a dungeon unless you are under 6 years old. The game is rated E, so people over the age of 6 should be capable of finishing this game, not to mention an adult like yourself. Also, you fail to mention how the time aspect influences the game, like characters only being available at certain times or how you can't access the farm until the third day and by then it's too late to get Epona. You don�t need to help the citizens over and over again. You only need to help them once to get their item/items. After that you never have to deal with them again. There aren't as many dungeons, but the game is not much shorter than Ocarina, because there are a lot more of sidequests and mini-dungeons/requirements for entering dungeons than in Ocarina, and you don't need to relive any of them unless you either fail to complete them or you feel like reliving them. There. Now you can rethink your profession as a game reviewer. At least rewrite this review so that it isn't full of lies anymore.

Pretty much feel the exact same way. I wasn't asking for another God of War game and I don't think it's really necessary but I know I'll enjoy it, regardless. I don't want the series to end though but it could do with taking a break for a while anyway. There shouldn't be any more on the PS3 and I hope they don't bring out another for the Vita. Would like to see it next gen though, and I'm sure a new God of War on the next PlayStation would generate enough hype to get everybody excited again.

That was funny, well written article. The only problem is the COD audience won't be able to understand it, they definitely wont get the photos. Wonderfully written, and I whole-heartedly agree. Maybe it's because I was raised in South Georgia, but my parents made damn sure I knew what I should and shouldn't do on the internet and they monitored everything I did. I plan to do the same with my children, until I'm sure they know what they should and shouldn't do on the internet. And news flash, at 12 years old, you SHOULD know what you should and shouldn't do on the internet. Your parents shouldn't have to monitor you, because your parents should have already taught you not to give out your name, address, or phone number out on the internet. It's ridiculous to me that the government wants to keep stripping the rights from everyone else, in this case "sex offenders" (which, in my opinion, is too big of a blanket label), to make up for parents' negligence. Plus, and this might sound crazy, why the fuck are we banning adults from Xbox Live to protect children playing Call of Duty anyway? The service is not for kids! Fucking morons. I don't know personally know any sexual offenders, except for my old high school teacher, so I can't really speak for them, but I'm sick of video games in general shouldering the blame for shithead parents and I'm thankful for people like you, Matt, that can speak about video games in a mature, thoughtful nature. Also, I read this site all the time, but I've never commented until now because this comment system fucking sucks.

Perfecly written! Great Article!! Whatever capitalist maneuvers EA pulls off on the gaming industry, it's no different than any other GIANT enterprise would do in their area of work, be that entertainment, commerce or any other. With the difference that EA excels at it. For all the negativism I may have towards the FIFA franchise and being a die-hard PES fan, I must admit that I would love to see what EA would do to the various flaws that PES has and are so annoying, even for a die-hard fan. And even though I do not like the (still, but no for long) FIFA's shallow gameplay, FIFA has a lot of good features. And I will NOT start to complain about the PES Online Gameplay. Konami is only safe from my hatred because of the MGS Series. All in all, EA has always been a 100% Credibility label for me and all the gamers I know.
