Forget everything you’ve ever heard by these guys, this is my favorite album of them all (by Rush). They’re all good, but I believe this record captured them at their best. Nothing over played here. Just simple yet intricate songs, played by three men as comfortable with their instruments as they are competent; full of emotion most people only casually acquainted with the group wouldn’t associate with them. I can’t decide if the first tune, “Animate” is a love song … Continue reading →

We’re screwed folks, as is our nation and our climate. If my children live out their natural lifespans they’ll be lucky, or incredibly inventive. There, I said it. Didn’t want to, but I had to. We’ve been duped into sowing the seeds of our own destruction by a political process that was co-opted several generations ago.
Back in February of this year the Manatee County Sheriff’s department confiscated twenty-three cannabis plants found growing at the home of Robert and Cathy Jordan of Parrish Florida. Mr. Jordan was charged with cultivating marijuana, a Schedule I controlled substance according to federal authorities. Mr. Jordan, 64, has maintained from the beginning that he was growing the herb to treat his wife Cathy’s Lou Gehrig’s disease. On Tuesday, April 2, 2013, the Jordans learned that all charges have been dropped, an almost … Continue reading →

Her job: justifying dismal U.S. broadband performance. Her strategy: total denial. Public angst over the “alleged failing” of U.S. broadband, she’s charging, rests on “disinformation.” Contrasts with nations like … Continue reading →
