The money raised can be used to fund a wide range of infrastructure including roads, schools, community facilities, and open spaces. The levy is set locally by authorities and will be charged in pounds per square metre of net additional increase in floorspace of any given development.</p> <p>The council is publishing its draft charging schedule and inviting comments prior to submission for independent examination.
