Sen. Chris Murphy Laments Budget Cut

#SenChrisMurphy (D-CT) misses the point on national security and foreign policy at the Council of Foreign Relations, a progressive Washington, D.C. think-tank. He wants to double the humanitarian aid budget compared to the previous approval.

He laments the same old liberal spiel that another country’s economic, political and social dilemmas will eventually hurt our country, if our country does not spend for humanitarian aid. The point is that this is incidental foreign relations – well-wishing, while pretending there is a cause-effect relationship between another country’s troubles and presumed down effect to the United States.

Proper foreign policy is on a regional level of the highest order. For example, what foreign policy do we take when Syria, a country in the Middle East region, uses weapons of mass destruction (WMD) – chemical – on it’s own people. Would that not create a regional crisis, affecting the national security of the United States?

It may not be worth mentioning that Senator Murphy might be helping to pad the pockets of non-governmental agencies (NGOs) or private contractors. Let’s hope not. But the focus of the new Trump administration and the American electorate is to move away from this silly U.S. Department of State budgeting.

Cannot Senator Murphy really do something except sit in front of the camera ponying to sorry liberals about fake needs for budgeting taxpayer money? Will Senator Murphy be re-elected? Why should he be? He hasn’t done anything, except complain.

To be good at criticizing the Democratic Party’s issues, one must know what they think and how they think. I listened carefully to Secretary Tom Perez’ acceptance speech upon being elected to the Democratic National Party (DNC) Chair. He is a good speaker, but what good is his speaking if he speaks about no issues. Strangely, there was not one issue that he spoke about. He spoke about an interesting process that I have surmised. One way that the Democratic Party tries to gain power is through the word “We.” Since the Democratic Party favors identity politics, it seems to still be a hot rallying center. Identity politics is African-American, Hispanic-American, women, illegal immigrants, LGBT, workers, unions, and anyone who disagrees with the status quo. Identity politics is like trying to please everyone’s special interest. Tom Perez is rallying members and non-members in the same way that Debbie Wasserman-Shultz did. He is appealing to all the identity interests to come together. By coming together, the idea is, they can elect Democratic Party candidates back into power. The problem is circular, though, because even if the Democratic Party candidates were elected to power, they would have no issues to speak, and they would not be able to stay in power. They purposely stay away from issue rhetoric. Issue rhetoric is only answered when the Democratic Party candidates are in power. But as rallying points it is a no go. This makes sense because in identity politics, all would not agree on an issue platform. But all would agree on who else is not good for an office.

Travis County Sheriff Sally Hernandez risks losing federal taxpayer dollars for continuing sanctuary city policies, according to the Texas Governor Greg Abbott. In a desperate move, she affirms to dishonor federal immigration official policies to honor jailing detainers, saying it drives “people into the shadows.” As of February 1, 2017 Sheriff Hernandez will lose federal funds in the form of criminal justice grants (about 1.8 million) and make less safe the city of Austin and Travis County, Texas.

The Clapper and Obama Wars (spying on Americans) must go. Snooping on millions of Americans’ private data was interpreted in Section 215 of the Patriot Act as legitimate by the Obama Administration. In 2013 Director James R.Clapper was asked by Senator Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence “does the NSA collect any type of data at all on millions or hundreds of millions of Americans?” The Clapper said no. Shortly after he had made that statement, he had sent a private letter, of which the content not on public record, to the committee admitting he clearly had made an error. A few months afterward, Edward Snowden had defected the NSA and had revealed classified information to the same effect. Edward Snowden is now assumed to Russia.
