One of my favourite things about the various fashion weeks, is the street style. New York Fashion Week just wrapped up and it's onto London Fashion Week. But here's a look at some of my favourite trends popping up on the slick, stylish women of New York.

Tailored - Menswear on women is a look that never gets old.

Pretty Prints - Whether head to toe or just a peek, prints add a good dose of quirky style.

Swing Batter Swing - The most unlikely of accessories, the baseball cap, has officially made a comeback. Stick to tailored, structured pieces to keep it looking glamorous.

Rachel Roy. Is one stylish fox. I'd seen many pictures of her, been on her site a few times, seen lots of pictures of her line, but there was something about the way Refinery 29 shot her in her studios recently. She looked amazing (those Tom Ford glasses, the Celine shoes, the coral blouse from her line, the tonal pink outfit), her studio looked flawless, that light, bright and airy office, her line looked fantastic and all round it was easily one of my favourite behind the scene shoots I've seen in a long time.

Dudes, you might be thinking the lady in your life isn't a sucker for Valentine's Day and while she might not be, its usually best not to find out the hard way. I'd recommend a little something special on your return home tonight. After all, what girl doesn't want bragging rights the day after?

Retro Style Kiss Cushion from Liberty £85. Pretty much anything from Liberty would be a winner in my books but this is especially appropriate for today.

Miller Harris £85. If you're going with a fragrance, pick something high end and a bit unusual like this warm heady fig scent that smells divine. And looks amazing.

The Pair A Birds Print $20. So discreet but look closely and it says 'I Love You Very Much'. With its quirky cool, retro vibe, I'd love just about any of these prints.

Elsa Perretti Pen $105. A great pen goes a long way and this one comes in that pretty little blue box.

Smythson Keyring $130. Every single time she reaches for her keys, she'll have a little reminder of you.

Marc Jacobs Ear Buds $42. The bold neon yellow stops these from being too saccharine and it's a gift that will get used time and time again.

Gold Watch $48. Now is the perfect time to take a dip into the rose gold pond.

Valentine's Day is upon us and while lots of men might be out and about today (or more likely tomorrow) trying to find a great gift, I've decided to tackle that other complete minefield. Gifts for him. Valentine's Day is a fun thing, not necessarily something to get your knickers in a massive twist about, but its always far more fun to embrace all festivities than bah humbug your way through. So in the spirit of all that lovin' here are a few great gift ideas for him.

Sling Shot $21. Even if it just ends up being decorative, this is likely to be a hint of nostalgia for the little boy in him.

One skirt. Worn in 3 very different ways. That's my kind of versatility. Known for her simple sophisticated style, Jil Sander pieces have been popping up more and more over the past couple of years. Set to sell out for the new season are her gorgeously soft and perfectly coloured chiffon pleated skirts. It's hard to choose between the coral, emerald and crisp white so I came up with three outfits that could just as easily be worn with any of the three skirts.

One of the things I love so much about accessories is their ability to transform an outfit. I'm not much of a necklace person, I tend to gravitate most strongly towards rings and bracelets. Right now, its the brightly coloured enamel, animal inspired and classic style bangles and bracelets that are high on my radar. I tend to wear a couple at a time and with a box full of arm candy, the combinations available are endless. I love the unexpected combination of chocolate leather and rose gold in the first bracelet, but its the blue vintage style watch at the bottom that has my mouse hovering on the 'buy' button.
