Even as a die hard Georgia fan I really want to apologize to Tim for my team’s behavior. We were rude and had apparently lost all good sportsmanship. Tebow is an excellent player that all football players should strive to be like. I am hoping the Gators get thier undefeated season because of all the teams they deserve it the most.

The Gators struggled early, and like all season have had to rely on kicking field goals when reaching the redzone. “You’d like to put the ball in the end zone more and not kick field goals,” said Tebow. “But we’re going to be happy being 9-0. Not too many teams in the country are 9-0.”

One thing that bothered me was that the Gator offensive line gave up 4 sacks to Vanderbilt. They made Vandy’s defensive line look like a bunch of All-Americans. The o-line needs to get Tim more protection. That and the fact that the receivers rarely get open, it causes Tim to hold onto the ball longer then he should.

It was fun seeing Percy Harvin and Louis Murphy on the sideline for the game – I bet Tim would love it if they could have suited up in the orange and blue.

Tim Tebow’s Eye Black for the game was Colossians 3:23 – “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men.”

Historically, Tim plays very well against the Commodores. In 2008, he was 12-17 for 171 yards and 3 touchdowns, and also had 88 yards on the ground and 2 touchdowns. He also had 5 touchdowns against Vandy in 2007. So back to back 5-touchdown performances against Vanderbilt – I think he can make it 3 in a row. Tim is due for a monster game.

After everything that went down last week against Georgia, Tim might be playing with a new sense of purpose. In fact, the entire Gator team might have had a fire lit under them. We will see how it plays out – but I feel bad for Vanderbilt. They Gators are angry and will play with passion like we haven’t seen all season.

I know I do this every week, but I’m predicting Tim to finally throw for over 300 yards this weekend. Vandy’s terrible pass defense sets up perfectly for Tim to have a huge game. I’m seeing 313 yards, 3 touchdowns in the air and 2 more on the ground. He’ll hook up with Riley Cooper again for a touchdown or two, and maybe a long Deonte Thompson score.

Earlier this week, Tim spoke out in defense of Brandon Spikes. “I don’t think that we did anything in that game that they didn’t do,” Tebow said Monday. “If you go back and look at it and study it, you can see it in the film, too. It was an intense game, both teams were very passionate about it.”

Now I don’t see anything wrong in Tim’s comments, but these reason I am posting this is because I received an email from Rachel (name switched for privacy reasons) that seems a little out of line. I’ll let you be the judge.

I could not believe Tebow’s comment about the incident with Spikes. We are a small community, but one of our older members at church requested prayer for Tebow when he was injured. The member’s reasoning was that Tebow was hurt and was a good Christian man. After hearing Tebow’s comment about Spikes, I am appalled that a “Christian” would say this. Intentionally trying to blind someone is inhuman. So much for your Christian witness anymore Tebow.

I am first an LSU fan, then an SEC fan, so therefore a Tim Tebow fan. He is a superb individual. Oh by the way, and one hell of a winning football player.

Last night, I really noticed Tebow’s low throwing motion (ball got knocked out of his hand a couple of times), so now I see the issue for Tim to progress to a good NFL QB.

It occurs to me that I have the serious solution and who can help him.

I watched an ESPN 30/30 show about the USFL and watched a young Steve Young play QB (before he went to San Francisco in the NFL and on to win a Super Bowl). Steve Young was a mobile, left-handed QB! In January or February, as Tebow, preps for NFL Combine and Scouting analysis, he should engage Steve Young (or perhaps ESPN could make a show out it, since Steve works for ESPN) to mentor Tim on his mechanics and all the changes he needs to make to have a good, pro career. Steve Young suffered through a few concussions due to his frequent running style. I do not think there is anyone better qualified to mentor Tim Tebow to get to the next level.

Do you think Mike makes valid points? We all know Tebow doesn’t have the most orthodox throwing motion in football… but when you get down to it, what QB is 100% perfect? Even Tiger Woods works on his golf swing every day. I’m not sure if Steve Young is willing to coach/mentor an incoming rookie. That is something only Steve Young would know. But, I do think it would be wise for Tim to get help from an NFL quarterback coach prior to the combine. I doubt he’ll ever be able to completely change his throwing motion, but minor tweaks could help him protect the ball in the pocket.

Tim Tebow threw two first quarter touchdowns to Riley Cooper to help the Gators get to an early 14-0 lead. In the second quarter, Tebow took a 23 yard run to the house which happened to be his 50th rushing touchdown of his career – a touchdown that broke Herschel Walker’s record. After the score, the Gator fans in the stadium erupted chants of “Tim Tebow… Tim Tebow.” It was awesome. “Breaking Herschel’s record means a lot,” Tebow said. “Just to be mentioned in the same breath as Herschel Walker, it’s extremely humbling and a little bit breathtaking because it’s Herschel Walker. How am I going to be in the same league as Herschel Walker? I still can’t understand it. It’s pretty cool and it’s really special.”

Tim finished the day 15/21 for 164 yards, 2 touchdowns and 18 rushes for 85 yards, 2 touchdowns. The Gators are now 8-0 on the season and still the BCS No. 1 team. For those of you that missed the game, check out this video:

For those of you heading to Jacksonville it’s going to be crazy. It’s like Mardi Gras. The entire downtown shuts down on Friday night and all-day Saturday. Gator and Bulldog fans line the streets and trade jabs at each other. This year, the Bulldog fans don’t really have too much to talk about. They are 4-3 overall and have lost 2 of their last 3 games. Now, TIm Tebow and the Florida Gators offense has struggled as of late, but they are still the No. 1 team in the country and have shown they can move the ball at times.

Addazio needs to open the playbook for Tim Tebow and let him take control of the team. I want to see Tim throw the ball downfield and make some big plays. He hasn’t gone over 300 yards passing in a single game yet this season. The offensive line needs to step up, make some blocks and create a pocket for Tim to throw in.

One thing to look for in tomorrow’s game is a Tim Tebow rushing touchdown. One more rushing td will put Tim Tebow atop the all-time SEC rushing touchdown list with 50. How fitting would it be for Tim to break Herschell Walker’s record during a UF vs. UGA game. He’ll get a standing ovation from at least half of the stadium!
