Making art not easy but it is my way of life testimony

2017-07-12T12:30:00.000-07:00

Recently, feeling tired of what I do. Making this or making that for clients/companies, I lost my passion on working on the projects.

So I restarted my sketchbook and posting on Instagram, Facebook, my WordPress website and here (rebooted blog). I am trying to restart my true passion on my creativity. I just want to do something I feel relax and being positive of what I am doing. Somehow I work on collage and make me feel like I am an artist again. Refresh my way of thinking and of course, God gives me the affirmation of my creative side and He gives me strength.

Somehow I got a great feedback from my coworker who is also my fan at FB, she wrote this sentence to me:

"I have been enjoying your sketchbook pages you have been sharing on Facebook."
Just a piece of complement will just enough to keep me going. If you see my blog somehow, please let me know your comments on my work. Thanks.

— I was in coffee shop yesterday and tried to relax by working on my sketchbook but this drawing showed me that I was in a confused and things wait to be sorted out in my internal state of mind.

I haven't been working for my art for sometime. These sketches were done recently when I felt quite frustrated in life and work. Feel like I had been in the low of the valley. I have to loose up my thought and so as my art style. Thank you Lord that I went to Chris Tomlin's concert - Burning Lights Tour yesterday and I found the answer and got revival of soul and life. Being reminded of humility like Jesus and forgot all my "selfness" & "stubbornness". I will take His armors (sword and shield) once again and walk my life again without fear. Thanks for the songs, Lay Me Down, Whom Shall I Fear [God of Angel Armies] and Awake My Soul. Thank you Jesus!

S for surrounding

I haven't had time to update my blog for a year. Being struggling a lot of things in my life lately, I did not abandon this blog because of that. I have been trying to have a new art, new voice for my art. But I think I am in a plateau right now, hopefully I will have a new thing coming up. And I will keep this blog fresh as I can.

Live painting 2/21 at Kaleid Gallery, San Jose

House paint and acrylics on canvas

Had fun to paint live on Tues, 2/21 at Kaleid Gallery, I reworked on an old canvas and got a flair of expressive gesture on the canvas. I feel like relieved after I finished it. It let me feel like a painting with itself and experience how it works through finish with fulfillment.

'Near the River' is the name

2012-01-18T14:23:00.000-08:00

Had a great time last night at Kaleid Gallery, I haven’t had a live painting for a while. I treasure every minute of it. Besides, I cannot really do the drip painting at my apartment since it will be messy on the floor. And my little apartment does not have room for me to have a studio there, so I was a totally happy with the outcome of the art. Title as “Near the River” Used house painting and acrylic together on a brown paper (packing paper).

Daily observation

2011-09-16T11:16:00.000-07:00

I am starting a daily reflection of what I feel exercise. Try not to do in representational way, let the abstraction reveal to the surface. This one called multiplicity.

drown ... pet peeves

2011-08-30T17:28:00.000-07:00

Recently, I feel drown. What was that about? I have a lot of obstacles and struggles. I have been doing some custom toys (dunnies and munnies) and I almost finished one dunny and wanted to put on sale on my online store after the protective spray but the acrylic spray killed the dunny, now the paint all messed up and wrinkled. I was really upset about what I had done. I never had this experience before. The dunny was painted very carefully and colors are nice but now what had I done? I did not have any strength to draw because I wanted to rethink my drawing. Feel like I have been suffocated and drowning into a mud field. No luck on toy sale and of course, artwork, no one buys art nowaday except you are famous like Picasso or something, this is my pet peeves...
