Last weekend, Timberlake was privileged to host the Senior Class of Heritage Academy for its Leadership and Legacy Retreat. Approximately 50 people from the school joined us on Saturday evening for fun, fellowship, food, worship, and adventure programming. During the course of their two nights with us, these young men and women were challenged to rise above the mediocre and step up as servant leaders. It was a true pleasure to serve them and observe their time here at camp.

How can we serve your needs? Servant leadership isn’t simply a challenge for the young people during the weekend; instead, Jesus challenges all of us who call ourselves “disciples” to wash the feet of others. As a camp, we offer great accommodations, good times, and a gorgeous setting; as a ministry, however, we believe we are called to go the extra mile in making sure your needs are accommodated to the best of our abilities and that you leave our sanctuary secure in the truth that you have been served well during your time with us.

Let us know how we can wash your feet with your next event or retreat.

Welcome to the new face of Timberlake Ministries!!!

We’ve done some remodeling around the place, both on the Web site and around the camp. Over the next couple of weeks, we’ll be taking you on a virtual tour of the camp, but, for today, I wanted to introduce you to the best features of the Web site. We’ll be updating regularly the progress on the newest building project–the commercial kitchen. We’ll also be showing you some of the recent improvements we have made–the playground, the picnic pavilion, the Hoop, and the flotilla. Feel free to sign up for our regularly scheduled newsletters by adding your email address, and follow the links to like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter. Pour a cup of coffee, make yourself at home, and leave us some feedback on what you like and what you’d like to see. Thanks again for stopping by. Don’t be a stranger.

Timberlake is a Christian Campground located in Lamar County Alabama. Our purpose is to provide a local facility equipped to assist area churches in ministering to the community. Our camp is open and ready for use.

We have just completed a 10,000 sq. foot dining hall complete with a residential style kitchen and a retreat center with its own meeting room and sleeping for 80 people. We are still growing and hope to build more cabins, a gymnasium, an amphitheater, and recreational fields in the near future.

Our goals as a ministry are to start summer backyard Bible schools in surrounding communities; to bring in church groups from outside the area for mission projects and to work in the backyard Bible schools; to sponsor conferences and retreats for all ages; to hold summer camps and special weekend retreats for children and youth; and to start an Emmaus Walk in this community.

They both were born and raised in the Columbus, MS area. They were married in the Spring of 1998 and soon after became the youth leaders at a small United Methodist Church in Ethelsville, Alabama. In the spring of 2000, Jeremy and Erin took that youth group to a weekend retreat at a church camp. Their experience that weekend led them to began praying about starting a Christian campground closer to the Columbus area.

They talked to trusted friends and family and after much prayer and soul searching began looking for the appropriate location. Two years later in February of 2002, Jeremy found what is now the location of Timberlake, off Hwy 96E just west of the Millport, AL city limits. Timberlake was incorporated into a nonprofit 501(c)3 coorporation in April of 2002 and 244 acres was officially purchased in July of that same year. God’s hand has been evident in leading them to this land and starting this organization.
Many volunteers and friends have helped us get to this point.
