That is exactly what I found there; loads of good information and resources. This link will take you directly to a number of pdf printable position papers. "Worship in the New Testament", "The Security of the Believer", and "Can Born-Again Believers be demon possessed?" are just a few of the offerings there. If you have never visited there, I encourage you to do so.
Thank you for subscribing to this feed. I just don't know how I got so out of control. It all started with needing an email account at work. Then my job made it mandatory to complete on-line continuing education. Various committees decided to use email instead of actually having meetings. This was to cut down on wasted time. ha, ha.

Somewhere along the way, my sister Cyn encouraged me to start a blog. I pondered for days about what to name it, what I wanted to post, and how to get my thoughts from paper to screen. Blogger made that easy for me; and the rest is history.

From blogspot to bloglines, I needed a streamlined way to manage all of the blogs I wanted to read. Bloglines has a function called "clip blog" that made it so easy to save little snippets that I thought might be useful later on. Soon I had a mountain of snippets and little way to catalog them.

One day while teaching Sunday School, I made reference to something that I had read in a blog somewhere around here. Opened a can of worms indeed. My pastor decided that I must be a computer guru or something, so he put me to work on the church website. It started simple with a couple of pages and now it is about a dozen.

Requests came pouring in for info about our ministry. How could we get some samples out to the masses. Eureka........YouTube, GodTube, e-zekiel.tv, ShoutLife. Being the 'net-queen began to consume more and more time. Then the teens asked why we didn't have a MySpace. I said that I had no time to work it. Oh some of them could have set it up for Pastor, but they couldn't be trusted to keep it squeaky clean.....you know what I mean? Long story short; we now have a MySpace page. I tinker with it some, but get this......it has worked its magic on my pastor and I think he's got a hundred friends or more.

It is not enough that I've got all these sites setup and running for the church, I have my own personal pages too. Actually mine came first. I used them as beta-sites for me to learn the ropes. So much work, seems like a waste to terminate them as I plod the steps of sobriety. Alas, I have all but stopped posting here, have given a notice on ShoutLife, doing very little on MySpace, e-zekiel.tv, and GodTube (now tangle.com) but still keeping both YouTube accounts renewed weekly.

God is so good. He has spared me from withdrawal symptoms. So far. But then again, I didn't/haven't quit cold turkey. Actually, I have found the methadone of the 'net world.....Facebook. It is a little user un-friendly at times, but it offers means of blogging, networking, and IM all rolled up together. It has become my latest hangout. I can't barely go a day without logging in to see what long lost friend has found me.

It is going to take more than a 12 step program to free me from that one. Perhaps down the line I will get back to some serious posting. I still have tons of material that I could post; but for now you can catch up with my archives all over the 'net ( if all of these links are intact). See you around. If you're ever in the Facebook neighborhood, look me up (enter sistacala@juno.com )in the friend-finder box and we'll have a little chat.

Thank you for subscribing to this feed. I just felt like I needed to post it here, today. Follow this link to read the full post.

But the enemy is wrong. He is the father of lies. He is limited. The only power he has is the power I allow him to have over me. And when I take that from him, when I stop letting him to do it. When I begin to stir up the gifts within me...when I begin to fill my mind with the things of God and call the things that are not as though they were, when I take hold of the Power that is within the blood of Jesus. And begin to increase my faith and refuse to accept the lies...when I call upon the name of the Lord of Hosts, the Almighty, who was and is and is to come, the Great I Am, the creator of the universe, the El Shaddai, the Everlasting Father, the Prince of PEACE, the Comforter, the Shepherd of my soul-- the chains begin to fall off me. The enemy trembles and runs in fear. There is victory in the camp!
Thank you for subscribing to this feed. In today's post I want to introduce you to a young man that I met some 30 years ago.

We met while attending Camp Ambassador (TN Assemblies of God church camp now called Jackson Conference Center). While we were from different parts of the state, and being different in gender and ethnicity, we found common ground in worshipping our Savior. Little did I know that he would mature into a mighty warrior in/for the Kingdom. I hope you will take the opportunity to visit his website and perhaps invite him to speak in your area. I know that he will be a blessing to you and your community.

The following is an excerpt of Reggie's story taken directly from the press kit posted on his site.

Born to an unwed teenager who at one time considered abortion as a viable option for solving her "problem," Reggie Dabbs considers himself fortunate to be alive. With no place to go, the pregnant teenager ended up living in a chicken coop in Louisiana. It was there she remembered a former school teacher, Mrs. Dabbs, who had said to her students, "If you ever need anything, call me," and gave the students her home phone number. The girl called.

Mrs. Dabbs went to Louisiana, picked up the girl, and took her back to Tennessee where she and her husband, whose six children were adults by this time, took the girl into their home and cared for her until after the baby was born. They continued to care for little Reggie as foster parents until he was in the fourth grade, and then they officially adopted him and gave him the Dabbs name.

As the Dabbs' reared Reggie, they instilled in him strong moral values, for which he is genuinely grateful. They also ingrained in him the fact that in every situation he faced, he had a choice. What he did with those choices was entirely up to him.

When addressing a school assembly, Reggie talks to the kids in a humorous style about choices each of them has when faced with drugs, alcohol, suicide, etc. Reggie gets in kids faces and tells them that he never smoked a cigarette, never did drugs, never drank alcohol, because he chose not to. He assures them that they can make the same kinds of choices.

Reggie talks to kids about family and how thankful they should be that they have families. He talks to them about dating relationships and emphasizes that virginity is the most honorable choice. Most of all, Reggie drives home the fact that "You can never change your past, but you can change your future.

From being a "Problem" to an unwed teenager, Reggie is fast becoming one of the most in-demand speakers who helps teenagers meet their problems head-on and overcome them.

Thank you for subscribing to this feed. If you have not, then you just don't know what you are missing. I have been privileged to travel into Costa Rico and Mexico on a few missions trips with groups from the Tennessee A/G. Each one made a life changing impact upon me.

Work and family constraints in the recent years have prevented me from any face to face foreign mission ministry. Yet, I have ministered to world people groups through intercessory prayer and some monetary donations. On the other hand, local missions work is a regular part of my Christian service.

Internet ministry is also a way that I am able to communicate the Gospel. Though I have slacked in posting here, I am active with posting our church videos to various video hosting sites. One of them is e-zekiel.tv. It is a site where the content is reviewed prior to being made public. It is used by many churches as a place for their announcements. There you will find both professional and amateur clips.

Follow this link to find out about Operation EPISTLE and your opportunity to make a blockbuster impact with out breaking the bank.
Thank you for subscribing to this feed. Feel free to leave comments and I will be happy to visit your site as well.

Treasures for the Taking

My how the time flies......I'm not sure when I will get back to regular posting, but I know that I will. Eventually. In the meantime, I have found a great resource site that I am sure you will enjoy.

Initially, I viewed the YouTube videos posted by Pastor Loran. Then I followed the links from his YouTube channel and found a wealth of valuable downloads; mp3 sermons, written semon notes, worship songs w/lyrics, and links to several other great sites. So, I just wanted to pass the info along. Visit Abundant Grace Assembly of God and find some treasures.
Thank you for subscribing to this feed. He no longer has to battle physically or spiritually. Some would say that he is now at rest. Peace, yes. Rest...... I doubt it. He was rarely idle in this life. He spent it working in God's vineyard. Now I am sure he is rejoicing evermore.

On September 9, 2008 Reverend Vilbert Vernon McCoy quietly slipped from his earthly existence into his eternal life with Jesus Christ. I'm sure that he wasn't so quiet once he made it to the other side. He was a stalwart in the Christian faith; a church planter, pastor, evangelist, prophet, and one crying in the streets, "Jesus is coming soon".

He was 93 years old. He leaves behind his wife of 70 something years. He preached for 60 years. What a testiimony to the power of the Cross. Until recent years, he averaged preaching 5 times per week. He traveled from one corner of Tennessee to the other many many times. He preached in every jail, juvenile detention center, hospital, and nursing home along the way. He preached anywhere the door was opened to the Gospel. He distributed over 100,000 tracts. All of which he wrote and published himself.

If ever a man was passionate about souls, Uncle V.V. was.Known all over the state as Brother V.V., he was never without a scripture on his lips. Only God knows how many souls have been won into the Kingdom because he took time to preach and pray. He will be sorely missed by many.

Thank you for subscribing to this feed. It had been quite a while since I had done a complete scan and clean up procedure. When I checked the virus vault, I found 3 trojans. Good thing they were the type that could be auto healed. There were 68 warning messages related to tracking cookies. Are they harmful? I'm not sure. I just deleted them all. Actually, I was wondering why they were there. I run the CCleaner after every use and it is supposed to catch all such stuff. At any rate, my computer is clean again.

What about my human hard drive? Often it is cluttered with tracking cookies, viruses, worms, and extensions left over from situations that I thought I had un-installed. The brain is really a complex organ, not to mention the "mind" part of it. And the soul? Who can know it except my Maker? Yet He has given me some tools to keep it all clean and running right.

The conscience is a built in helper. He put it in right from the start. I have downloaded portions of the Bible, "basic instructions before leaving Earth" over the years. Actually, I have an automatic update scheduled for that every day. That is if I have left the power on. I mean, if/when I open the pages and begin to read. The Holy Spirit is another great installation that keeps me on the right track. He is all the anti-virus protection that I will ever need.

Really, there's no need for me to continue with this analogy. I got the message loud and clear. I have to keep my brain working, my mind clean, and my soul pure. Thank God, He has made it all possible.

Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. And/or the name of your blog?
My blogging name was easy. I just used the same name that my church friends used to address me. The blog name was a little more of a challenge. I was so new to the internet at the time, that I had no clue how to blog or how to set one up. I thought I could gain some traffic, if I picked a name that would tie in with a current craze. But, I wanted my blog name to reflect it's content. Also, I tried several different names in the Google search box to see what words generated a lot of hits and appeared early in the search.

2.Are there any code names or secret identities in your blog? Any stories there?
Again, being very new to the internet shaped how I shared particulars of my family. Cowboy refers to my husband. KK refers to my youngest sister. She did not want any pictures of her family or their names included on my blog. CP is her son and my youngest nephew. CWGIII belongs to CHGreen of Gone with the Wreath. (She is the middle sibling) You may also find that he is referred to as Golden Boy. (I think she started that one.)

3.What are some blog titles that you just love? Other than the RevGalBlogPals blog of course!
The Sound of Thunder, Voice of Vision , Beside the Point

5.Who introduced you to the world of blogging and why? CHGreen urged me to start a blog. I had shown little interest in the internet. Basically, I was a poor typist and had very little time for such frivolity. ( If that's not a word, it should be.) From time to time she would talk of her blogging friends like they were just next door. So, I became curious and began to read some of her posts. Then, I found myself following links and checking out the folks in her sidebar. Next thing I know, I was hooked.

My original intent was to put into print all of the Bible studies/lessons that I had already presented in my local church. I thought it would become a lasting resource for myself and others. I had no lack of material, but I struggled with getting formatted the way I wanted it. I too had learned that real long posts appeal to few. I had to learn to condense my material or post in series. The logistics of it all stifled my flow. But I digress......

I still enjoy reading blogs and posting. I just do a whole lot less of it these days. Time constraints have caused me to post videos, cartoons, excerpts of other blogs, and Friday Five's.(when I have a chance.)

Bonus question: Have you ever met any of your blogging friends? Where are some of the places you've met these fun folks?

I had the opportunity to visit with granny b of Compassion to Sympathize. I think I'm the one who got her started blogging. We have known one another for awhile. We used to attend the same church in New Mexico, but I live some 1200 miles away now.
Thank you for subscribing to this feed. It was just a faint odor but enough to arouse my curiosity. I went to the front door and looked around my yard. The grass was charred within 25 feet of my porch and I could see the flames in the nearby brush.

Then I yelled,"Dale! Fire!". Without hesitation (or shoes), I ran to the well-house and grabbed the hose. I ran as fast as I could through the back yard and around the side where the flames were nearing our propane tank. As I began to spray the water, I looked up and saw a young fireman working to quench the flames. He said, "We're taking care of this." I replied with a thank you and retreated into the house.

Long story short, the fireworks fun of the previous night turned into a fire that could have easily taken our lives and destroyed our home. Thank God for an observant neighbor. Thank God for our local Volunteer Fire Department. Thank God they got there in time. Thank God for sparing our lives and our home.

Praying that you will have a happy, fun, and safe Fourth of July. Peter experienced and demonstrated this power on the Day of Pentecost when he justified the behavior of the 120 who had been filled with the Holy Ghost.

This same promise has been extended to us today. Acts 2:39 states it this way; "For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the LORD our God shall call."

I had a great ending for this post, but...... Peeping in ever so quietly, was my Golden Boy. He wanted to know when I was going to get up and when we were going fishing. Oh how I wish I had the energy of an eight year old boy. Long story short, we got up and went fishing. Sad to say, we didn't catch anything. Maybe next time we should do our casting from the other side of the pond.

3Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, We also go with thee. They went forth, and entered into a ship immediately; and that night they caught nothing.4But when the morning was now come, Jesus stood on the shore: but the disciples knew not that it was Jesus.5Then Jesus saith unto them, Children, have ye any meat? They answered him, No.6And he said unto them, Cast the net on the right side of the ship, and ye shall find. They cast therefore, and now they were not able to draw it for the multitude of fishes. John 21:3-6

Hungry and exhausted the disciples could have easily blown off the advice of the man on the shore. They had no idea that the man was the One that controlled the sea and all that it contained. It was only after he revealed his identity to Peter, that they understood why they hauled in more fish than their boats could hold.

Oftentimes our circumstances are less than ideal. Sometimes there is little or nothing to show for our labors. The feeling of failure fosters the idea of throwing in the towel or in Peter's case, the net.

But rest assured, Jesus will show up in our times of difficulty. It is up to us to be looking for him. We may not recognize his hand at work, but his voice will reveal his identity to us. By the time I get around to it, the choices are pretty slim. I'm not an early riser.

2) If so, are you an immediate buyer or a risk taker who comes back later when prices are lower? If I see something that I like or think I have a use for, then I just buy it right away. Chances are that I won't get back to the sale.

3) Seriously, if you're not a garage saler, you are probably not going to want to play this one.(That wasn't really #3.)3) This is the real #3: What's the best treasure you've found at a yard or garage sale? Even though it wasn't for myself, it was the best deal ever for my nephew. We bought a toy gun that shoots foam balls. Retail about $20.00. Our price, $1.00. But that's not all. The lady gave us the 20 balls, a target, and a bag to hold it all.....at no extra cost.

4)If you've done one yourself, at church or at home, was it worth the effort? I have helped my church on a couple of occasions. Yes, it was well worth the effort. Everyone got rid of the stuff that had been cluttering their homes/yards and we made a good sum of money in just a few short hours.

5) Can you bring yourself to haggle? Oh yeah! What is the worst that can happen? The seller can say, "no deal". Most of the time stuff is priced too high anyway.

Thank you for subscribing to this feed. The ones I most enjoy are the ones that are likely to become reality in the future. Take flying to the moon for instance; it is a reality now, but a hundred years ago it was considered a sci-fi idea.

And what does that have to do with today's post. Very little, except the fact that things are constantly changing, yet they stay the same. It is simple really. Just take a look at what this ancient king had to say about life.

8 All things are wearisome, more than one can say. The eye never has enough of seeing, nor the ear its fill of hearing. 9 What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun. Ecclesiastes 1:8,9 NIV

Solomon received wisdom from God because he asked for it. He received favor from God because he asked for wisdom instead or riches or fame. He had the three most coveted things of men everywhere; wealth, wisdom, and women. Yet in all of his majesty, he was not satisfied.

9 Better what the eye sees than the roving of the appetite. This too is meaningless, a chasing after the wind. 10 Whatever exists has already been named, and what man is has been known; no man can contend with one who is stronger than he. 11 The more the words, the less the meaning, and how does that profit anyone? 12 For who knows what is good for a man in life, during the few and meaningless days he passes through like a shadow? Who can tell him what will happen under the sun after he is gone. Ecclesiastes 6:9-12 NIV

God is the only one that knows every aspect of the past, present, and future. Our lives are held in His grasp. A Christian's past has been covered by the blood of Jesus, his present is being shaped by the Holy Spirit, and his future is determined by the choices that he makes.

12 Although a wicked man commits a hundred crimes and still lives a long time, I know that it will go better with God-fearing men, who are reverent before God. 13 Yet because the wicked do not fear God, it will not go well with them, and their days will not lengthen like a shadow. Ecclesiastes 8:12,13

In the end, it will be truth that will stand the test of time. Truth that can not be refuted or changed. The living Truth within the Christian gives him both strength and hope eternal. Outside of the Truth, there is no life.

10 The Teacher searched to find just the right words, and what he wrote was upright and true.11 The words of the wise are like goads, their collected sayings like firmly embedded nails—given by one Shepherd. Ecclesiastes 12:10,11
Thank you for subscribing to this feed. The text is lengthy but the observations brief. Here the Apostle Paul is writing to the church at Rome. He begins with a recommendation of Phoebe, a sister in the Lord.

He speaks of her as being a helper to the multitudes. He refers to her as a servant of the church. Although the word that he uses for servant is the same one that can be rendered as deaconess; we can gather from verse two that he means to accentuate her servanthood rather than an office.

All but one of the following 14 verses, begin with the word, "Greet" followed by a name of a brother or sister in the Roman church. What is interesting to me is the descriptive words that he adds about each person. These descriptions range from extended compliments to just stating his relationship with them. And a few greetings are extended to nameless groups of folks.

How would he have qualified his greetings had he been writing to your pastor? Would you be considered his fellow-worker? Would he have recognized you as the first convert in your area? Would he have expounded on your faithfulness and maturity in Christ? Would he have labeled you a hard worker or just a relative? Would you be miffed if he greeted you only as motheror sister? Or would you swell with pride at the suffix "chosen of the Lord"? And what if he openly stated his love for you?

It is a lot to think about. There may have been one listening to the letter and wondering if their name would be mentioned and what glowing remarks would be added. Still others may have gotten their feelings hurt when their names were not called. Perhaps some were tempted to be jealous or resentful. It is impossible to know for sure.

One thing is certain, Paul knew his flock. How else would he have had the confidence to instruct them to greet one another with a holy kiss? I'm afraid to contemplate the repercussions of such an act in today's churches. Holiness is considered old-fashioned by today's standards and is near obsolete in many congregations. And kissing in church? I think that there's a lot more than that going on behind some church doors. God have mercy!

I didn't mean to slide into the rants of moral decay, it just somehow came to my mind. Nevertheless, I want my name to have some goodness attached. I want to be remembered as a fellow-laborer in the Kingdom. I want to be able to give and receive holy greetings, salutations, and kisses.
Thank you for subscribing to this feed.
