So if your trial is ending soon you’re wondering why there hasn’t been any notification about it, this is the reason. We’ve deactivated all systems related to the trial expiring.

We’ll keep you updated about the progress. In the meantime, enjoy using the service freely for another couple of weeks!

Now we know that a goal like that ins’t going to be easy to accomplish. We need to work really hard for it to become something more than just words, but I can tell you right now  that we’re going to work like crazy to make it happen.

So what exactly are we doing? We’re going to be giving support on three different channels:

• Email: support@timelyapp.com
• Twitter: @timelyapp
• Facebook: Timely App

Both myself and Thomas will be constantly monitoring all three channels. Even though we are doing that, we feel our customers deserve to know which time we are almost guaranteed to be available. For that reason, our official “business hours” will be the following:

• 8 AM – 2 PM (Los Angeles, USA)
• 11 AM – 5 PM (New York, USA)
• 4 PM – 10 PM (London, England)
• 5 PM – 11 PM (Oslo, Norway)
• 0 AM – 6 AM (Hong Kong, China)

Just to clarify: we constantly answer all three channels, but this is when we are almost always available. On Twitter, you’ll either see a ^TK or a ^MM behind our tweets. This is just to show you who’s answering. On Facebook we’ll use ^Mathias or ^Thomas. The signature idea is something we picked up from the excellent CampaignMonitor team on Twitter.

After months and months of hard work, countless of tweaks, updates, restarts and changes, we can finally release Timely to the whole world. It’s taken a long time, but it feels amazing to step back and see how far we’ve gotten. But as good as it feels to get it out, this is only the beginning of our application. Timely is by heart a true web application, which means there will be rapid and on-going updates, all the time. So stay tuned for some big news in 2011.

• Money widget on the dashboard is now working
• Default currency and time zone can now be set in settings

Brand new Reports system

We’ve launched a completely new reports system which makes it really easy to get a great overview of your, or the company’s, logged hours. There’s three datasets:

1. Hours logged over time
2. Hours logged on each project
3. Hours logged per user

The “old” reports system is still very much active can be accessed using the “Create a new custom report” button in the top right.

Freelance view

If you’re an individual using Timely, and not a company, having to see your own face on each time entry is really unnecessary. The same goes for a lot of other smaller features like choosing a hourly rate for different users when you’re creating a new project. That’s why we’ve created a freelance (or rather individual) view. This view removes everything that’s unnecessary when you’re only one user.

In addition to this, we’ve also fixed countless of bugfixes, done lots and lots of optimizations and completed other overall smaller improvements.

The beta is also officially over. We would like to thank all of our beta-testers for some great feedback and for a few bugs spotted. If you were one of the beta-testers, you’ll see a overview of the plans and pricing the next time you log in. All you have to do is to choose a plan to begin your free 30-day trial. There’s no credit card required and all your hours, projects etc is still available.

We’re aiming for a full release (with a brand new website) later today or tomorrow. Stay tuned!

Here are a few of the things Timely will let you do:

• Log hours fast, from anywhere in the app, and in a really, really simple way.
• Know instantly what your clients owe you and which hours are unbilled and billed.
• Stay in complete control with projects, companies and budgets.
• See your colleagues logged hours and collaborate on projects
• Explore and learn about yourself or your company with powerful reports (the new reports system will be released to the private beta this week)

Sign up for the beta to the right if you want to try out Timely before we officially launch (which is right before Christmas). We’re sending out new invites every few days. If you have any questions, feel free to ask them in the comments.

We also know that it’s a real mess. Most businesses print out timesheet documents, put them up on doors and make the employees manually write their hours up. Some use excel documents. Some, more advanced users, use web or desktop applications to track their work hours. However, very few businesses actually use applications because they are generally hard to use, focuses on too much unusable and irrelevant stuff and often takes more time to use, than to actually do the work.

It sucks and we hate it. That’s why we built our own web application, Timely. We’ll post more details in the coming week, but lets just say that we use it every day and it’s way better than anything we’ve ever used before. Here’s a little teaser image of the interface:
