NKANA golfer Kennedy Likomeno may not be one of those taking the limelight in the golfing circles but yesterday, he won a prize he will forever cherish, a Toyota Land Cruiser pick-up. This is after sinking a hole-in-one during the Pro- Am of the Mopani Zambia Open tournament at the Nkana Golf Club in Kitwe. The Land Cruiser was courtesy of CFAO Mobility Zambia and was one of the four cars on offer on the three short holes at the par- 72 course.

A THIRTY-EIGHT-YEAR-OLD man of Luanshya, who sexually abused his two daughters and a niece on multiple occasions, has been sentenced to 40 years imprisonment with hard labour by the Ndola High Court.
Judge Derrick Mulenga described the incident as one that could cause even a strong man to shed tears, emphasising that the convict was supposed to care for his victims instead of taking advantage of them.
Brighty Simunkanga of Luanshya was convicted and sentenced on six counts of incest. Additionally, on a seventh count, the convict was found guilty of indecent assault.

ZSIC General Insurance Limited is positioning itself to cover farmers from the impact of the anticipated El Niño during the 2026/2027 farming season.
The anticipated 2026 El Niño is increasingly likely to occur with forecasts suggesting it may develop from mid-2026 to early 2027.
For Southern Africa and Zambia, the main concern is reduced rainfall and drought risk, which can significantly affect agriculture, water supply and the economy.
