She says Galveston is still not back to normal from the hurricane. I suspect the same is true of Mustang Island--but then, again, it may not have had any impact from the storm. Perhaps if you phoned them they could direct you to a web cam where you could look at the area.

You have to cross a rather busy road to get to this walkway. Puerto Mogan is some eight kilometres further from the airport. I wouldn’t take a car here just for local short trips, because parking in front of BB may be a problem. However, for shopping or night life you probably want to use a taxi. The cost is 2-3 Euros. The resort is not ideally situated though offers an ocean view.

The accomodation which is 1,2 or 3 bedroomed units are spacious clean and well equipped and were all refurbished about 2 years ago.
Their is a great pool area, and kids corner, and entertainment is on most nights through the summer.
Food is usually very good and reasonable with Special Evenings, barbecue's etc also very good.
It is a fairly quiet resort a little isolated, maybe a 25 minutes walk to San Blas the commercial area, so a car would be handy but not essential.
There are beauitiful walks along the coast line but no beach's at all.
Planes fly over all day but its surprising how quickly you don't notice them.
Overall it's great I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
I intend to go out again in March
Regards

Strangely enough, I was just talking to some friends who actually own there and the future does not look too good for this resort. Financial problems - don't know how long it will be in existence. There was a ESM recently where the owners were being offered another deal - our friends did not pay much attention to this as they were not interested so can not give any more details than this.

If it is still operating, the resort is just off the M4 motorway and is part of a hotel complex. You would definitely need a car as there is not much in the immediate vicinity. Good location for visiting Cardiff and Swansea areas and also other areas of South Wales.

But a one day travel card is £4.60 after 9;30 the trains included I think. Bus/train/underground at £5 a day!!! Bus or van- £8 congestion charge, central London parking £22 a day at Whites row(example) except Saturday for £2.00 Parking meters 20p 15 minutes minimum 80p first hour. Red routes just to stop cost £50 if paid quick, £100 for the slow. Touching only slightly a bus lane £50 and hatched boxes £100- Stress levels... PRICELESS!!! Get a pass as most attractions cost a fortune to park and are on good routes... Where do you want to go in London?

We have just made an exchange to this resort for next year. Has anyone stayed here? It looks as if Penthouses at Gulf Stream, Gulf Stream and Smugglers Cove are all at the same address. I can't really see any difference between the first 2 although by the name I presume the penthouses are the top floor!

It looks good with the Gulf of Mexico on one side and the bay (not sure if it'll be Sarasota Bay or Anna Marie Sound) on the other.

If anyone knows the area it would be great to hear from you.
