Details, such as they are came but told me little about Avant Leisure, they were signed to include a web site address. This proved not to be working !!

Whilst I appreciate that we can all become a bit emotive as to the situation at the resort since the committee in their wisdom decided to change the constitution and in effect put the skids under all the positives that had been previously achieved.

I should think that everyone's ire should be directed towards the guilty party ie the DCC committee who have basically reduced everyone's investments to zero value and dragged the ambiance and quality of the resort practically to the low levels they achieved when they last disagreed with the main investor.

This doesn't mean that I think the sun shines from M.Gates nether regions but it has to be obvious to all that as the main investor in the resort, he did, over the years raise the standard and provide greater holiday enjoyment for all and yes,as a business man he took profits in relationship to his investment.

Many of you will probably feel, as I used to, that he milked us for all we were worth,but at least we had an improving resort and holiday experience as oppose to now.

DCC Member is correct in the figures he has quoted for 2010 but I should like to add that the resort has been downgraded by RCI from Gold Crown to STANDARD.

Brian Hunsley states in his notes accompanying the Fee requests that there have been mixed results in the court cases.

PLEASE NOTE: DCC LOST the IOM court case and have had CC's costs to pay as well as their own.

DCC LOST the proceedings against CC to do with their accusations of criminal intent with regard to the touristic fine (which was given at the end of a four year investigation for many things on the resort,although the alterations to Apts 11 to 16 weren't mentioned)and have to pay CC's and their own costs plus the 75,000 EURO FINE as the management company at the time.

DCC LOST the first court case about the closing of the gates in March 2009. DCC WON the second, but that is subject to an appeal.

DCC LOST the court case about their setting up an illegal communidad as THEY DO NOT OWN OR CONTROL ANY OF THE RESORT except for their 44 apartments. FINED 14,000 EUROS plus CC costs.

Apartments can be rented by anyone in Jan, Feb and March for as little as 125 pound per week. If I was paying 344 pound as an owner I would not be happy.

RS Custom is also correct when he states that as an Elite member, if you add the levy to the week owned then there is no difference HOWEVER, if he was a FLEXI elite member he would only pay a variable user charge ONLY if he booked a week or weeks to a maximum of 325 pound.

If, like my sister-in-law you own PREMIER ELITE then including the levy, she will only pay 151.50 for a one bedroom or 161.50 for a two bedroom apartment per week. These fees being fixed in her case until 2017. All the Elite memberships come with free sunbed cushions and safe keys. Some also have free laundry and discounts in the bar.

Finally, long winded as I have been, I should like to add that after careful consideration and having gleaned as much information as I possibly could from both DCC and CC, I WILL NOT be paying my fees to DCC for 2010 as I believe that ARE NOT acting in a manner which is for the members benefit,but more for some sort of I WANT TO BE IN CHARGE REGARDLESS type of way.

Has anyone heard of this company. They have contacted me today with regardings to selling my timeshare but I've never heard of them. They say they have picked up a lot of business from EVEMONT CONSULTING whose accounts have been frozen and I may be able to get my retainer back which I foolishly paid to Evemont should 5 Star manage to sell my timeshare. I've had no luck getting the money back through my credit card company who are being awkward. Any information would be appreciated.

They claimed i was on the national timeshare database but of course this does not exist i suggest anyone who gets a cold call from this company reports it to the telephone preference service and hopefuly they will take action.

in the meantime if anyone else gets approached i suggest you avoid companies who dont operate professionally i dont think that Golden Resort Sales is a company that can be trusted

They are stealing your money and walking away, probably to a fancy car around the corner, home to a fancy house, go on proper legitimate holidays and how? with YOUR money.

Once they knew I wasn't selling my timeshare and wouldn't make a decision on the day, no matter how good the deal, they lost interest.
