Bow down to a third decade of BWs

"You maniacs! You blew it up!"

That could be the line uttered by Fenings far and wide if proper respect and, of course, preparations, are not forthcoming for the monumental 20th anniversary Brother's Weekend.

We now have confirmation of Ed's attendance and the big weekend is only about a month away. Shirts need to be ordered. Money needs to be stashed away from the wives. But Smack is cheap and can be issued immediately and plentifully (is that a word?) So let's hear it you damn dirty apes!

One would think that the 19th annual Brother's Weekend would be a highly anticipated event -- the newly designed logo and possible accompanying shirts, the last BW hurrah before a brother turns 60 next March, and...well, it's Brothers Freakin Weekend! ...at least one would think.

But along comes Micah. The trunkerous MBA branding babbler, the desperate job hunter, the cry-opractic back patient.

And the Sultan of Shame.

This blog does not have the capacity for a proper analysis of Micah's traitorous wedding plans. His half decade LeBron-athon of marital feet-dragging, culminating in a publicly announced "decision to take his talents to South C'bus", was an affront to all things BeeDub. Strategically placing his wedding in late May, Micah knew that the event would either result in a cancellation of BW or at least pushing it to page 2 of the summer Fening news.

We've already seen some fallout -- Chris coming in so late for the festivities that a photo-op and meet-n-greet are the only planned events for his weekend. There may not even be clubs in his trunk. Tim is so dejected that he may "decide" to scrape together very little cash for poker. And Mike has mentioned it may even be worth picking up a heavy paint can that weekend to get his usual summer back strain out of the way in time for the wedding.

Like the endless orange barrels we see on highways every day, Micah's plans to divert traffic away from Middletown and toward Columbus will be met with rage..and payback. You don't bring shameless disrespect to BW. You don't mess with Sasquatch and get away with it. And not just Ed, but the rest of us too!

The 19th Annual Brothers Weekend has been set as the weekend before the Royal Wedding (Memorial Day Weekend) and begins with Chris' arrival on the night of Friday, May 20. For most of us, it will be a very busy spring. Besides Micah and Jenn's nuptials, we have:

Erin's graduation
Joey's graduation
Our 20th anniversary

I think I'm missing some.

For years Micah has lamely tried to copy cat BW among his friends. A recent pic reveals that his wild poker bash consist of Star Wars nerds (see poster on wall), computer geeks, and guys wearing fake horns. Pretty lame Micah. You have brought shame on our legendary event. The committee may be forced to consider a suspension or public censure.

Once again, Micah has jetted off to a foreign land under the guise of learning. His MBA program uses these business excursions as cover for a lot of drinking, goofing around with the locals, and, obviously, mudslide baths. Memo to Micah: learning how to say "brand management" in Portuguese is not making Jenn feel any better about paying the rent and bills for you. It's also certainly not preparing you for the BW beat-down you shall receive at the poker table. And no we don't accept any Euros, only cold hard greenbacks.

OMG, Chris is getting up there. This BW, we'll have to assuage the torment of time upon him by making funny faces and sounds to make him laugh.

Diane really wants to come and visit us during this year's BW. She can't make it Memorial Day weekend, because she's flying out to visit Banks out in CA.

The weekend before Memorial Day? We've yet to hear from some of our brothers on this.

Closing ceremonies for 17th Annual BW

Chairman of Competition Ed Fening presenting the symbolic $10 bill to Tim for his incredible victory over Mike, Chris, Ed, and Brady in golf at the notorious Shaker Run golf course on May 24. Little did anyone think that Tim would take the poker championship later that same night. What a day of victory for Tim! We all congratulate Tim on his unbelievable double victory! (Note: Rick did win the low score on golf that day, but we all expected that to happen.)
