Changing Accounts Is For The Birds

I'm starting over with a new twitter page. Unfortunately, when Hotmail got hacked, I did too. I had to completely shut down my Hotmail account and reestablish my emails and passwords for both of my websites. I had to change all my email addresses on all of my other type accounts also. This took me the better part of, what, 4 days now? I'm still trying to remember all of the websites that I have subscribed to with my old email account. Do you know how many websites, blogs, twitters, and anything else you have sent emails to that you now have to contact to change over to another email account? Oh, and you can't forget Facebook. Most people only have one, maybe two, Facebook accounts. Me? I have FOUR. I still have tons to find, or find out about by accident, because not only did I have to change all my email accounts just to get access to my Artfire accounts, I had to completely reformat my computer. I almost cried to know that I had, and still have all this work ahead of me. If I hadn't saved 95% of my pictures and everything else, I would have been in tears. So, here I am, letting everyone know how important it is to save everything you have on an external drive or what ever means you have. You never know when a big company like Hotmail will get hacked again and cause you more headache than heartache.

National Platunum

Has anyone had any problems with a company by the name of National Platunum services taking any money out of their accounts without any authorization? Well, over the weekend, this company took not one but two charges of $99.95 out of my account. They have caused me to go into overdraft and my bank then charged me $25.00 for each charge. I contacted my bank but they told me that there was nothing that can be done. I have attempted to contact the company through email and from the phone number on the email and on my bank withdrawal. I just don't have any idea what to do. I don't have any money for my bills, medications, or Christmas gifts. Can anyone help?

My First Collection

Today I put together my first Artfire Collection. I named it "Simply Red". I randomly pulled anything red out of shops, some I have never been to before. I have attached the link for you to check out. The shop I put this one together with is Majestic Crystal Rose (website listed above).

Crocheted Little Things Shop

Good morning to all my bloggers. I have chosen a random shop to feature today. The name of this shop is Crocheted Little Things. She makes blankets, gloves, slippers, and so much more. You really need to check out this shop.

One of the items that I really think are cute are these Crocheted Cupcake slippers. She says that these are made using 100% acrylic yarn with your choice of colors. The sizes range from a size 5 to a size 10 1/2. She also says to give 2 - 3 days to make these wonderful slippers.

The next item that I would like to share with you is this beautiful Crocheted afghan ripples in black and greens 60X40. She says that this one is made using acrylic yarn. Also, if you would like one of these but in a different color, then to contact her to discuss colors and patterns.

Now Christmas is just around the corner (I know, don't remind you). I just LOVE these cute Christmas ornaments. She says that they come in a set of three.

Ok, have I peaked your curiosity yet? She has so many cute, beautiful, and inexpensive items in her shop that it would take me all day to list everything. You will just have to go and see for yourself.

What I Have Been Doing

Hello to all my readers. I know I have been scarce here lately. It's because of several reasons. The main reason is because I am down to the wire on getting my custom orders done for Christmas. One of them is a king size Denver Broncos quilt that I am doing in the fabric stained glass. I have also been trying to get my craft room in order. It's a small room so I am having to organize it to wear I can get to all my crafting items, which mostly include my fabric and jewelry supplies, but it also includes my paints, frames, and glass for my painted stained glass. I also have miscellaneous other supplies such as junk jewelry that I use in collages that I do. (I haven't listed any of those as of yet). My craft room is about half done now. Another reason is that I have three craft shows coming up that I have to get ready for. One on November 6 and two in December. I am working on a Fabric Stained Glass Yellow Ribbon (support our troops) with a rose and star. I also would like to make another Messenger Bag if time permits.

I would also like to let all of you know that I have opened two new websites and Facebook pages. One of the websites is for my jewelry section. Elly's Creations

For instance. This "Butterfly Bracelet/Ring". I really like this piece. Elly's description is "3 Silver butterflies woth St. Petersburg stitch and crystals. The crystals can be worn either on the inside or outside."

Another piece that I really like is this "Rose Garden Necklace". Isn't this really pretty? Elly's description of this one is " It has Green and red Swarowski Crystals throughout the necklace, with tiny gold at the tips. The necklace measures 19".

Then there are these earrings. This is just one piece of her earring section. Her description of these are "Silver with tiny Blue color crystals".

New Design

Hello all. I just wanted to let you all know about the changes I have made to my blog. I decided that my other blog was bland. I changed the layout and added a few new widgets. I added Rapid Cart which if you don't know what that is it's a clickable link that allows someone to purchase a piece of your art without even having to go to the website. Another widget that I have added is a Guestbook. You can sign the guest book and you can also add your links. Anyone can look at who has signed the book and are able to check out your sites. There are a few other little things that I have changed or added. I'm still learning how to post things and add others like banners for exchange and all but I will get the hang of it soon.

Still Learning

I would just like to ask all of you that are sharing your banners to please be patient with me. I am still learning how to put this blog together. I don't have anyone close to me to actually show me how to do this so I am swinging it on my own. I have your links but I can't figure out how to put the links and pictures of the banners together yet. If anyone can help me with this, it would be greatly appreciated. Superior Agates's Shop

Ok, I think I'm back on track now. Today I am going to feature a shop that goes out of her way to mention different shops. She Tweets, has a Facebook page where she is always talking about the other shops whether they are on Etsy, Zibbet, Artfire, or any other website, and she even has a blog where I have read where she has mentioned different shops. This wonderful lady, during her busy day of creating some beautiful designs that I will show in a bit, still makes time for others. This shop is Superior Agates. Her website is http://www.etsy.com/shop/superioragates. She has been a member on Etsy since Jan 09, 2010 and is located in Minnesota. I decided that I'm going to change things around for her and share her beautiful creations with others for a change. She has shared many times with us that she finds her Agates everywhere. She said one day that someone as digging (I can't remember the reason, I apologize) and she was so excited that she was going to go "Agate Hunting".

This beautiful pendant is my favorite. She has named it
"Sterling Silver Malachite Gemstone Pendant". She said that the Malachite stone measures 1" x .75" (25x19mm). She does the wire wrapping herself. She even has directions of how to wire wrap, along with other techniques, on her blog. This is the most beautiful pendant that I have seen.

My second favorite piece is this "Designer Handmade Cabochon Lake Superior Agate Semi Precious Gemstone Pendant". Look at the wire the way she has wrapped this gorgeous gemstone. Now that is perfection. The Agate measures 1.25" x .75" (31x19mm). She says that this Agate is wire wrapped in pure .925 sterling silver wire. In her description she says that this is the "Stone of Taurus and Capricorns to sensitize and strengthen willpower."

This piece really shows the perfection of her wire wrapping. She has this piece named "Handmade Brass Wire Cross Pendant". Take a minute and REALLY look at the wire. I have looked at this piece many times and I can not find any imperfection at all.

This lady is amazing. You really have to check out her shop. There is no way that I can post all the different items she makes. I will tell you this. When you check out her shop, make sure you have some time. You will want to see every piece, I can almost guarantee that.

I was reading her blog last night and she had a place where she listed other people's banners to her blog. Then she said to send her a message with the link to your blog saying that you added her banner then she would add yours. I think this is a wonderful way to exchange information--something like LinkLove on Facebook. So if any one of you are all for it, my banner is listed under the above tab My Banner, then send me a message on my Etsy account and I will check out your blog then add yours to mine. This might be fun.

Continue to Cyber Bully

I just wanted to add that, without naming the victim or the bully, no one knows the entire story. Those of you that can kind of figure out who or what I am talking about, just bare with me a minute. The bully doesn't know the entire story of what happened with, let's say, a picture. The bully came in about the middle of the story. So what the bully is posting is only half truth. Now those of you that want to believe only half truths then you are just as bad as the bully in that you are letting this person harass this young lady for nothing. I'm not going to go into detail in what the true story is unless I have permission from my friend. But if I do get permission from my friend then I will be using the bully's name as well. The purpose for this continuation from the previous blog is that there are always two sides of the story. Don't always believe what you are told from only on side of the party. Get the other side before you pass judgment.

Cyber Bullying

Hey everyone. I want to discuss something that has been bothering me for the last month. A friend of mine is being cyber bullied. This young lady has done nothing wrong but this person just won't leave her alone. I knew that cyber bullying is a crime but I wasn't exactly sure if it was criminal or not. Well after doing some research, which I am still researching, it is a criminal offense. Now my question is Why is it still going on after people know that it is a crime. Especially after one young lady killed herself because kids from her school kept bullying her even after she got home from school by internet, Facebook actually. These were kids that were bullying that young girl that committed suicide. My friend is being bullied, not by some young kid that doesn't know any better, but by an ADULT. What are this person's kids like? Are they bullying another kid at school? We all need to band together and report, block, whatever we can do to stop this criminal act. If we don't do something, we will hear about another unnecessary suicide in the news or newspapers. I'm only one person. I can't do it alone. But if we all band together as one, then maybe we can make a difference. Let's save some lives. My Mom always told me that if you can't say something nice then don't say anything at all.

PK Stuff's Shop

I know, I said I was going to start doing my blog more often. Just to let you all know, I've been so busy working on special orders that I didn't have time to do anything else. Well, I'm making time today to feature another shop.

Today, I have decided to feature a shop by the name of PK Stuff. Her website is http://www.etsy.com/shop/PKStuff. She is located in Houston and has been a member of Etsy since October 4, 2009. She specializes in making items such as candles, cosmetic bags, and bath and body items.

One thing that I would like to let everyone know is that she is so supportive of other shops on Facebook. When a shop doesn't have too many "Love Links", she "Shouts Out" that their shop needs some "Love". She is one of many people/shops that I look up to.

One item that I like in her shop is this bright and cheerful cosmetic bag. It is made using 100% cotton and measures 8 inches wide by 5 1/2 inches high and has a depth of 2 inches. It has a zipper closure with a little zipper charm to pull it open and closed.

Something else that really caught my eye, especially if you have children, are these cute little "Crayon" soaps. Pk Stuff says that these don't have enough dye in them for your kids to be able to draw on the tub while taking a bath. They are just soaps but they do come in a ton of different scents.

Then you have this candle that really looks like an apple pie. If I didn't know that it was a candle, I would think that it is real. She even packages it as if it really is an apple pie. She also says that there are 3 wicks and burns up to 96 hours.

You really need to check out this shop. The variety of items are so great that there is no way that I could list them all. Her prices are so affordable that you can buy more than one item and still be within your budget no matter what it is. So enjoy shopping. I'm sure she would like a comment or two on any of her items and while you are in her shop, why don't you save it in your favorites and send her a "Heart".

Today I am featuring a wonderful shop. This shop contacted me the other day and told me that she had used one of my pieces in her Treasury. I checked it out and found out that this was put together by her son for her mother who suffers from Alzheimers. The color her son chose was purple, the color of Alzheimers Awareness. This wonderful shop that I am talking about is Sweetie Marie Designs. Her website is http://www.etsy.com/shop/SweetieMarieDesigns. She opened her shop on June 30, 2010. She specializes in sewing. She makes little girl dresses, hair bows, and tutus. She said that after having 3 boys, she was finally blessed with a little girl and started making dresses for her. She was making more than her little girl could wear so she decided to open her shop.

First picture is of a dress that she has named " Waves of Pink
Bandana Dress". It fits size 12 months to 4T as a dress and it will be a long shirt for older girls.

Another piece that I really like is this "Hot Pink headband". Isn't that butterfly the prettiest little thing? I just love it.

Then she has this really cute Hot Pink tutu with zebra ribbons. She says that she has this one set at a size 3T ready to be shipped but can be adjusted from newborn for a size 7.

Today I am featuring a shop that asks people to post a link of an item in their shop that match the color theme she has chosen. She then puts together a Treasury with some of the items other shops have sent her via email. Her Treasuries are really beautiful. This shop is Mystic Wynd.

Mystic Wynd is located in Scottsdale and has been a member of Etsy since October 19, 2008. She makes very unique and beautiful jewelry.

An example of some of her work is this Gold Leaf Necklace with Faceted Labradorite.

Another piece that I think is really pretty is this one that she has named as Rose Necklace in Champagne Blush w Pearl and Crystal. I think this one is my favorite.

Then of course as I'm browsing through her shop looking at pieces to feature, I came across this beauty. Now I think this one is my favorite. She names it Peach Glow Glass and Brass Necklace Vintage Victorian Inspired.

It's been a long time

First of all, I want to apologize for not posting anything in a couple of months. I've been busy making things for craft shows that I have been going to. I have one tomorrow then I don't have one booked until September time frame. I'm going to start my features again. Give me a few more days then I will get started again. Today I am featuring a shop that is real interesting. The shop's name is bflydesigns777. She is located in Denver and has been a member of Etsy since November 18, 2008. She specializes in making jewelry out of real butterfly wings. Now I know what you are thinking because I thought the same thing. Does she kill these butterflies for their wings or does she pick them up off the road? Well, she does neither. She answered this question for me while I was in a chat room with her. This is what she told me (and it's also in the introduction to her shop) "We acquire our wings only through butterfly farms around the world and do NOT participate in harming any living beautiful butterflies." Now I really felt like a fool because I actually was thinking that she did harm to these beautiful creatures. I was so embarressed when she told me but then again, I was also relieved to know that these butterflies lived their lives to the fullest. Her website is http://www.etsy.com/shop/bflydesigns777.

Now to show you what beautiful artwork she makes with the wings AFTER these critters have passed on to greener pastures.

First are these earrings made using the wings of a Lyssa (Hindwing). They are just beautiful.

Then she has this ring that is made using the wings of a "URANIA RIPHEUS BUTTERFLY."

She has many others to choose from. She really does beautiful work as you can see from the photos above. I really recommend that you take the time and look at each item in her shop. You can learn alot from her and not just that she makes jewelry. She has the history of each type butterfly and where they come from. I actually took the time while writing this blog and read several of the descriptions. She is very knowledgeable along with a wonderful artist.

I haven't done a blog in about a week or so. Today I am featuring a shop by the name of Promotees. Her website is http://www.etsy.com/shop/promotees. She is located in Fredericksburg and has been a member of Etsy since October 11, 2007. She specializes in items to promote your business. Look below and I'll show you what I mean. She says, "I've been doing custom imprinted garments and gifts since 1997. I can do Screenprinted, Cad Cut and/or Full Color Digital Garments, Gifts"

To the right is this "Call Me" necklace. She says that this is "ideal for those that talk on the telephone." These can also be used for birthday party gifts.

Huebys Scrollsaw Art's Shop

Today I am kind of breaking my own personal rules on how I do my features but I'm going to feature a shop where I know the owner in person. This shop's name is Huebys Scrollsaw Art. His website is http://www.etsy.com/shop/huebysscrollsawart. He is located in my home town of Edgewood, NM. He has been a member of Etsy since March 28, 2010. I know his products personally and I know how well he makes his items and the workmanship that goes into each and every piece in his shop. Let me tell you, the pictures do not do them any justice. They are even more beautiful when you can hold them in your hand then what any picture can tell. He cuts each one of these out using his scrollsaw.

One of my favorites of his is this Gentleman's Box. This box is made out of 1/8" thick baltic birch and is stained walnut. Its measurements are 8 1/4" by 8 1/4" and 3 1/2" deep. The lid and base are 9 3/4" by 9 3/4" and is attached with 3/4" hinges. The bottom is lined with blue felt.

Another piece that I know first hand, the craftmanship that goes into it, is this .United States Marines Plaque. I actually purchased one like this for a gift this past Christmas. This plaque measures 10 inches in diameter.

Then he has this cross, (I've been eyeballing it at the craft shows). Look at the details. It measures 13" tall by 9" wide. It is made out of 1/2" to 3/4" thick oak and is stained a cherry color and finished with polyurethane.

Don't take my word for it, check out his shop. His prices are very reasonable. He can do anything that you can think of I'm sure. If you don't see anything you like, I would be very surprised.
