Our best moments were with Britt, whose die rolling was impeccable. She seemed to grasp the manouevre very well - clearly a clever child, well brought up.

Which is more than I can say for my meagre contribution to the game, which consisted of rolling a series of 10s on the command dice, thus preventing the Bavarian cavalry from influencing the game or helping Bart’s infantry batter the Austrians.

Very nice rule-set and a good scenario.

I still like my exclusively Foundry ECW units though - somehow they sum up the change in figure styles of thi time and just epitomise the priod. The newer figures, though nicer in some ways are just not quite right. Keeping those back for the 30 years war.

Indeed :)

Fun aside, that’s a good analysis and pretty much spot on, I’d say. I’m firmly in the casualty infliction potential proportional to own number of units camp :)

The regiment was kept on the Swedish books, and was active in the defence of Swedish Finland, till 1710 when it was lost during the capture of Viborg by the Russians.
Next to these there was also an Ingermanland Dragoon regiment, set up at the same time, and who roughly have the same history as the infantry. Part of the regiment escaped from Viborg, these were distributed to bolster other infantry and cavalry regiments.

Still, I think the rules look like a good framework in which you can decide with you playing buddies what to do in such events.

But I just don’t get your bashing for editing the pictures: the ones you mention are intended to show the layout of a unit in the army lists part of the book.
All pictures of games in progress aren’t edited in any such way.
