BEWARE OF THE COOKING LPG CYLINDER IN YOUR KITCHEN

"Have U ever heard about LPG gas cylinder's expiry date....!!

Expired Cylinders are not safe for use and may cause accidents. In this regard please be cautious at the time of accepting any LPG cylinder from the Vendor.

Here is how we can check the expiry of LPG cylinders:
On one of three side stems of the cylinder, the expiry date is coded alpha numerically as follows A or B or C or D and some two digit number following this e.g. D06.

The alphabets stand for quarters -
1. A for March (First Qtr),
2. B for June (Second Qtr),
3. C for Sept (Third Qtr), &
4. D for December (Fourth Qtr).

The digits stand for the year till it is valid. Hence D06 would mean December qtr of 2006.Please Return Back the Cylinder that you get with a Expiry Date, they are prone to Leak and other Hazardous accidents...

The second example with D13 allows the cylinder to be in use until Dec 2013.
I checked mine cylinder and found the code D-08. This means that i'm using an expired cylinder. Next time i'm going to be very careful while taking a new cylinder.

Know:How To Recover Data From Scratched Or Damaged Dvds/Cds?

Method 1: CD Recovery Toolbox

CD Recovery Toolbox Free was developed for recovering damaged files CD, DVD, HD DVD, Blu-Ray etc. You can use it to restore information lost as a result of some mechanical damage of the disk (scratches, chips, different spots on the surface) or as a result of incorrect recording. This program can recover data that was considered lost.

To recover your data, insert you DVD or CD onto your drive and the CD recovery toolbox will search for the files already present on the disc, select the files you want to recover and press next.

Method 2: Roadkil’s Unstoppable Copier

Roadkil’s Unstoppable Cleaner recovers files from any kind of damaged disk. It allows you to copy files from disks that give ‘corruption‘ errors, and those that are scratched. The program attempts to recover all the parts of the file that are still readable, and ignore the damaged parts. The program is tiny, and it needs no installation, so you can just jump straight in.

Method 3: ISO Puzzle

The goal of ISO Puzzle is to recover as much as possible data of damaged, bad burned or scratched CDs or DVDs. This version supports only data CDs and DVDs with sector size of 2048 byte - Audio CD, VCD and SVCD are not supported. Before you can start using IsoPuzzle, you’ll need to download WNASPI32.DLL from Nero and place it in the IsoPuzzle’s directory.

Just remember that you’ll have a part of the file that is recoverable, the part that was originally damaged, will be skipped, as these programs don’t repair the disk, but instead recover all other parts of the file. So, for example, if you’re watching a film, 2 minutes of the film might be skipped, due to the fact that the part skipped was damaged.

Most of us are fond of playing Lost planet, DMC4 games on computer machine. But have you tried taking screenshot of games in Dx10 mode? If you run these games in Dx10 mode you won’t be able to take any screenshot, even if you press ‘Print Screen’ button and paste in MS Paint it will be pasted as a black picture. If you are a serious gamer, and want to capture your finest moments on video as screenshot then fraps is the right solution for you.

Fraps is a Windows application that can be used to take screenshots of games that use DirectX or OpenGL graphic technology. Once it captures the screenshot it automatically name the file with timestamp. Fraps is commonly used to determine a computer’s performance with a game, as well as record gaming footage and capture screenshots.

How to use the screenshots option in Fraps-

Selecting “Include frame rate overlay on screenshots” will include the Fraps frame rate counter on your screenshots. If the frame rate overlay is disabled, no counter will be saved on your screenshots.

Screenshots can be saved in Windows Bitmap (BMP), JPEG (JPG), Portable Network Graphics (PNG), or Targa (TGA) format. Fraps can take the screenshots of games running at resolutions of up to 2560×1600.

Before using Fraps make sure that you use DirectX or OpenGL as a runtime system. Programs that run in Windows without DirectX or OpenGL are not supported. With the current election turning increasingly negative, maybe it is time to take a step back and look at 10 people that contribute something to the internet (so no Jack Thompson unless he starts blogging), face a massive backlash, and have become the most hated people on the internet. (Yes, it has Eric Bauman.)

1. Michael Arrington

Being the god-king of tech blogs isn’t easy (unless your name is Pete Cashmore and you can stare at yourself in a mirror), just ask Michael Arrington. He spends most of his panda-like existence blogging and picking fights with anyone that dares to criticize him. Most of the hate for Arrington comes from TechCrunch’s popularity, insane anger, and general douchebaggery towards anyone he considers lower than him.

2. Julia Allison

Famous for her attempts at getting famous, blogger Julia Allison has been hated on sites like Gawker since she first appeared in 2006. A legion of commenters descends from the skies like the monkeys from The Wizard of Oz to shit and piss all over the place with comments about her thighs whenever she writes a blog post about whatever tech company founder she is dating.

3. Tila Tequila

Sometime in 2006, Tila polished the turd of being an internet softcore pornstar into Tila Tequila, a pop singer and MTV dating show host. The neckbeards and fat lesbians that were sloughed off during her transformation were not amused by the sudden drought in Tila porn and act like a loosely connected terrorist cell that appear to raise doubts about her sexuality and to compare her forehead to a dolphin’s.

4. Casey Serin

In 2005, Casey Serin racked up $2.2 million in debt to flip houses for massive profits. Only, he was armed with MC Hammer’s financial powers and couldn’t sell most of the houses in the collapsing market. His blogs are the target of a hate so pure from The Haterz, an organized group of real estate and finance bloggers, that they could bottle and sell it for a higher profit than Serin could ever manage.

5. Lori Drew

The world was shocked that attractive people on MySpace could be middle-aged helicopter moms when, in 2007, bloggers outed Lori Drew as the person that used a sock puppet to harass 13-year-old Megan Meier until she committed suicide. The lack of remorse from Drew has angered the internet to the point that most are willing to give up some free speech to send her to jail under broad hacking laws.

6. Jason Fortuny

In 2006, the media exploded in a Bastille of anger when Jason Fortuny realized Craigslist is used only to troll for sex, posed as a woman, and posted the responses to his LiveJournal (obviously NSFW) where commenters identified and hassled responders. He then created Megan Had It Coming, posing as Drew posing as Megan’s friend, and was flummoxed that he is considered a bag of dicks for coming out as the author.

7. Michael Crook

If Fortuny is a bag of dicks then Michael Crook is the dick bank where Scrooge McCock swims around in an endless sea of dicks. He is best known for using DMCA takedown notices to harass bloggers that mocked his appearance on Fox News to defend Forsake the Troops, a site that claims troops are overpaid parasites, until a 2007 EFF lawsuit made him literally apologize to the internet.

8. David Motari

David Motari’s Bebo profile says he is happiest “hittin the gym”, “eating”, and “cruisin”, but fails to mention his love for tossing puppies of cliffs. in 2008, a YouTube video showing him doing that appeared and bloggers became fixed with ruining his life. To their credit, the USMC investigated the issue as soon as the video appeared and ended up discharging him.

9. Tim Buckley

Other webcomic creators hate Ctrl-Alt-Delete, Tim Buckley’s webcomic about stroke victims that are unable to close their mouths but love video games and have miscarriages, because of Buckley’s inability to take criticism, lazy art, and excessive dialogue. Former fans hate him for banning thousands of forum members in 2005 after it was alleged that he sent naked pictures of himself to an under-aged forum member.

10. Eric Bauman

The Carlos Mencia of the internet, Eric Bauman is hated by everyone that encounters him but eBaum’s World still manages to scrape on. YTMND DDoS attacks, Anonymous attributing raids to him, and all sorts of other drama stem from Bauman’s unrepentant attitude towards watermarking stolen content. In fact, hate for Eric Bauman and eBaum’s World is what powers the internet.

Know:Is Your System a 32 or 64 Bit Machine?

If you are wanting to download/install software and it asks you to choose either 32 or 64 bit (depending on what your processor is), you may not know unless you built the computer yourself. I have specified below a quick-and-easy way to determine the processor type of your computer. Most of the time it will tell you in System Properties, but I will explain another method below:

System Properties:

Click on the Start button, and then right click on My Computer. This will make an options menu appear. From this options menu, click on Properties.
A System Properties window will appear (shown below). In the bottom-right section of this window will be a “Computer” category, and a brief description of your computer will appear there along with processor information.

If System Properties does not specify the processor information that you need, you can check via System Information. I have supplied how to get to this alternative below:

System Information:

Click on the Start button and then click on Run. A small “Run” window will appear in the bottom left-hand corner asking to perform a command.
In the text box of the Run window, insert winmsd.exe and then click “Ok”.
A System Information will appear (shown below). Click on “System Summary” in the left-hand pane if it is not already selected.
Once “System Summary” is selected, look in the “Processor” column the right-hand pane. If the value contains x86 (or 86), your version of Windows is 32 bit. If the value contains ia64 or AMD64, you have the 64 bit version of Windows installed.

Please note that some machines that are 64 bit may have the 32 bit version of Windows installed for better availability to drivers. With this in mind, you may want to do further research on your processor to get a more accurate determination.

Know:What is System Volume Information?

If you ever wondered where is your disk space flying away when you don’t seem to have a lot of media files and Gigabytes of music you might want to take a deeper look. First off let me put things into perspective, being a blogger I have to keep trying new softwares and tips and tricks to make sure that you the readers get nothing but the best and validated and working stuff. So today when I wanted to install some stuff I found that I have only 1 GB of disk space left. I quickly opened up C:\ and had a look on what was eating up so much space, there was nothing unusual happening there. Then it struck me that it must be the system restore eating up the space. I mounted the partition in Linux and this is what I found:

You might have to go into folder options and choose Show Hidden Files and Folders to view the folder.

Now I have some Linux ISO’s indicated by "Red", but the main point to notice is that System Volume Information (Green) is consuming a whooping 3.3 GB and this by no means is very much, I have seen System Volume Information consuming 10s of GB depending on the size of the partition. So now what can you do?

Well you can turn of system restore completely but that is not recommended as you might have to roll back to a save point if anything bad happens to you system. The other more wise thing to do would be to decrease the disk space available to System Restore. You can access this as follows Right Click My Computer Icon and choose properties or Choose System from within the Control Panel or do it my way and Just Hit the Windows Key + The Pause/ Break Key (next to scroll lock). This will open up the System Properties Dialog box, from there click on the System Restore Tab and from there click on a drive and you can change the amount of disk space allocated to System Restore. Be warned this will mean having lesser number of restore points to revert back to.

So its one of those catch 22 like situations where you have to find a path that best suites you and is optimum for you. I would suggest to move the slider to allocate anywhere between 0.5GB - 1.0GB. So have a look at your drive and adjust the slider to get some space back!

Know:MP3 vs FLAC vs WAV: Audio formats primer

Playing back digital audio has turned into a regular experience for most computer users thanks in part to a variety of formats that helped make audio smaller in size, allowing simple methods of digital distribution. There are many different formats that serve many different purposes. Need to know FLAC from MP3? We’ve broken down each format and its main purpose in this audio formats primer.

MP3

The most popular audio format, and the one that largely changed music as we know it, is called MP3. MP3 is a relatively old format and part of the first set of MPEG specifications governing the playback of both audio and video. MP3 actually stands for MPEG1 layer 3, and because of the name some people often confuse it with the audio/video standards MPEG-2 and MPEG-4.

MP3 is a lossy codec, which means when files are encoded to MP3, the encoder chooses which parts of the audio are most important, and discards other less important parts. This process results in audio files that are passable, but less complete than the original file. Depending on the bitrate at which the file is encoded, more information can be kept or thrown out. This “lossy” nature, like all MPEG codecs, makes it an ideal candidate as a delivery format, meaning a format for mass consumption, rather than an archival format. MP3 doesn’t have any sort of digital rights management (DRM) built-in, meaning most MP3s can be transferred to any device and be expected to play.

AAC

MP3’s ideal successor is AAC, which stands for Advanced Audio Codec. AAC was largely designed to be the next version of MP3, and accomplishes things like better quality audio at similar bitrates. That means AAC will sound better than similarly sized MP3s. While AAC might be the successor to MP3, thanks to MP3’s 10+ year lifespan as a file format, MP3 is supported with most devices whereas AAC doesn’t have the breadth of support in hardware devices by comparison. However, that’s not to imply that AAC doesn’t have a broad install base. Most notably, iPods can play AAC files back natively, and every track purchased in the iTunes Music Store is an AAC file.

Unlike MP3, AAC has seen some DRM implementations, again most notably in the iTunes Music Store. While not defined as part of the AAC specification, Apple has forked AAC to try to thwart music copying. The implementation, known as FairPlay, requires listeners to be using iTunes, and have a computer authorized to play the music before being able to actually listen to the files. Apple limits the computer count to five total activated iTunes accounts at a time (check out our guide to deauthorizing all those iTunes accounts at once if you ever hit your limit and find the need).

OGG

Another lossy audio format is the OGG format. OGG is a “free” format, meaning the format is maintained by the not-for-profit Xiph.org foundation, and doesn’t charge for licensing or implementation. OGG is a file format popular with open source computer users, since there is no corporation sponsoring the format and all of the format’s specifications and encoding methods are open and public. OGG is a less popular format, one not sanctioned by any store selling legal tracks, however many users transcode their music collections into OGG typically using the compression format called Vorbis. OGG files do not typically have any implementation of DRM, since the idea of DRM is counterintuitive to the nature of open source.

WMA

One format known most notably for its wide variety of DRM implementations is WMA, short for Windows Media Audio. WMA was created by Microsoft, likely as a response to the rise of other lossy codecs like MP3. WMA’s main use is in subscription and pay-per-download music services. Microsoft created WMA to have wide copy protection measures in the files, seemingly to lure music industry labels to its side and make money off of licensing fees. Music services like Wal-Mart’s online store, as well as Napster and Yahoo!’s music store all use WMA audio, with Napster utilizing a subscription model, and the other two utilizing a purchased downloads model.

The actual WMA codec consists of four sub codecs. The original WMA codec is the lossy codec that competes with MP3. WMA Pro is an audio codec that has extended support for multi-channel audio, and also works with higher resolution audio. WMA Voice targets voice-only content and works at much lower bitrates by constraining the encoder to vocal frequencies only. Lastly, WMA Lossless is a lossless codec, meaning the complete data from the original master is maintained; however, the audio is compressed to allow ease of transfer.

FLAC

Another lossless audio codec is the Free Lossless Audio Codec, commonly referred to as FLAC. FLAC is popular with the audio enthusiast scene, as the files created are smaller than WAV files, though the files still maintain all the audio fidelity of a WAV file. FLAC files can also be paired with “cue sheets” that define individual tracks inside of one larger FLAC file. FLAC files cannot be played back with most portable audio hardware, requiring either modified iPod firmware or custom portable players, but several notable players support it such as several in the Cowon line (including the Cowon A3, and iAUDIO 7) as well as the iriver SPINN, the SanDisk Sansa slotMusic player, and a number of Samsung PMPs including the YP-S2. FLAC’s other primary advantage is that it is free, and any device manufacturer can implement FLAC at no charge. If you’re looking for components to handle your FLAC collection, an updated list of many of the devices that support FLAC is kept at Sourceforge.

ALAC

One lossless format implemented on the most popular portable media player, the iPod, is the Apple Lossless Audio Codec (ALAC). ALAC allows users to take audio straight from CDs, convert it in iTunes to ALAC, and play it back in full fidelity on an iPod. ALAC files can only be played in Apple’s music ecosystem (iTunes, Quicktime and iPod) and therefore the format is mainly suitable for audiophiles who enjoy listening to lossless music on an iPod exclusively.

WAV and AIFF

Most lossless audio comes from an originating source that has a bit-by-bit file that actually maps all the points on a sound wave. The two main formats of choice for complete recording are WAV (pronounced wave) and AIFF (sometimes pronounced “Aee-ph”). Both file formats are devoid of any sort of compression, making an average pop music song three or four minutes in length a hefty 50MB. While not as large of an issue in modern computing, 50MB file sizes in the mid to late 90s made the transfer of audio files extremely difficult, which is why lossy codecs were born. WAV is typically the Windows standard for audio storage, while AIFF is the Mac standard, though in modern usage both work interchangeably on either operating system. The WAV and AIFF formats are typically seen as “master” or “archive” formats, meaning they aren’t typically distributed to the public since the file sizes are large, though the audio quality is much higher than any lossy codec.

Close cousin: MIDI

Lastly, one format that isn’t specifically an audio format but should likely be mentioned is MIDI. Short for Musical Instrument Digital Interface, MIDI files don’t actually contain any audio data, but rather contain references to timing and volume of notes, which can be interpreted by any MIDI capable device. Before MP3 took its throne as the format du jour of music pirates, MIDI files would be swapped around the internet in the same way that MP3s are traded. MIDI files are extremely small, often ranging in size from eight kilobytes up to a few dozen kilobytes on the “large” end.
