How To Make A Ring

1.  Felt Flower Rings ~  Not only are these rings absolutely adorable, they are super easy to make and only require a quick trip to the craft store and a little hot glue.  Now that’s my kind of easy-peasy project!  {wink}

2.  Resin Rings~ I adore that these rings are made with items you may  have at home already like that bottle of Mod Podge!  You’ll need Mod Podge Dimensional Magic, Mod Podge, a strong glue, ring blanks, coins, scrapbook paper of your choice and embellishments of your choosing.   Think how unique every ring will be!  Love this 10 cent ring idea!

3.  Fabric Covered Button Ring ~ This step-by-step picture tutorial is wonderful.  I especially love it because if I’ve done my math correctly then I believe you can make these rings for about a buck a piece!  {{score}}!

4.  Pipe Cleaner Rings ~  This tutorial is perfect for a craft with the little ones!  You’ll find directions for making bunny ear rings and Mickey Mouse ear rings as well as directions for packaging them as cute as can be!

5.  Button Ring Tutorial ~ If you have a button collection, this would be a really fun way to wear some of your favorite buttons without sewing them on your clothing!  The only thing you need in addition to your buttons is a strong glue, ring bases and a shank cutter.

6.  Polymer Clay Rose ~ This tutorial shows you how to make one of the hugely popular polymer clay roses that everyone seems to be wearing.  Instead of putting it on a necklace, however, just adhere to a ring blank!

8.  Easy Crochet Rings ~ Hustle & Sew made these cute crochet rings in one evening and said they go very quickly, so if you are looking for a quick project, this just might be it!

How To Make A Wire Ring

9.  Wire Ring Tutorial ~  This ring is gorgeous in it’s simplicity.  I think that you could give this to anyone and they’d be thrilled!  When you see how easy it is to make you’ll be astounded!

10.  Wire Knot Ring Tutorial ~ In this tutorial Handmadeology  demonstrates that just basic beginner tools and a wire from Michael’s can go a long way, and with those tools you can make a wire knot ring, a great present for a friend!

11.  How to Make a Copper Wire Ring ~  This is a great tutorial for making a copper wire ring.  There are step by step pictured instructions so that you shouldn’t run into any hiccups.  I really like the mix of copper with beads!

12.  Wire Heart Finger Ring ~  This is a super easy wire ring project that’s so cute.  Don’t you just love the heart shape?  All you need is a glue stick, wire, round nose and cutting pliers!

13.  Embellished Resin Rings ~ These rings are similar to the resin rings I featured above but with a bit more bling and sophistication! I think I’d better go out and buy some Mod Podge Dimensional Magic stat.  I am in LOVE with these rings!

14.  Resin Ring Tutorial ~  This resin ring is a bit different in that it uses photos or photo paper for the design on the ring.  I love the idea of a photo ring!

15.  Pipe Cleaner Rose Rings ~ I couldn’t not include this adorable pipe cleaner rose ring from No Biggie.  Wouldn’t it make a fun party craft?

5.  Easy Funnel Cake ~ Finding a good funnel cake recipe is harder than you may think.  Now you don’t have to go to the state fair to get a delicious funnel cake  {{yippee}}!  Imagine everyone’s surprise if you showed up at a party with a funnel cake!

6.  Triple Chocolate Pound Cake ~ If regular pound cake isn’t your thing, then this variation should be right up your alley.  NancyCreative even offers two versions of the recipe depending upon whether you like your pound cake on the dense side or not.

7.  Low Fat Pound Cake ~ This recipe by Bakers Royale is low fat, BUT it’s moist and wonderfully delicious.  And, who doesn’t want to try a cake that does taste every bit as good as the full calorie version but that you can eat TWO slices of?  {{raising hand}}

8.  Black Forest Cake ~ The Black Forest Cake combines chocolate and cherries and whipped cream and most recipes usually contain Kirsch liqueur as well.  This recipe hits all of the above and looks delicious!

9.  Chocolate Raspberry Forest Cake~  This Black Forest Cake Variation is fabulous for those that aren’t into cherries and don’t want to bake with liquor.  The cake is made with dark chocolate cake layers and dark chocolate ganache and raspberry filling!

10.  Vanilla Butter Cake ~  This recipe uses cake flour for a denser consistency, but the vanilla flavor that comes through is delicious, according to Sweetapolia!

45.  Herringbone Table Makeover ~ This distressed herringbone pattern on the table top is amazing!  It’s a perfect makeover project for an already well distressed table.  You don’t even have to buy a stencil.  Find a google image that you adore, fix the scale and print it on card stock.

67.  Prom Dress Vintage Upcycle ~ The transformation of this vintage dress is stunning!  The only resemblance of the old dress is the fabric.  Approximately 8-10 pieces of fabric from the ruffles and sleeves were pieced together to recreate a new top.  The final result is absolutely beautiful!

127.  Button Earring Holder ~ Keep your earrings organized with this simple trick, buttons.  It’s an easy and inexpensive way to keep your dangling and stud earrings from getting lost.  Simply glue the buttons onto organza ribbon and pierce the backs of your earrings through the button holes.  Once you have paired your earrings together you can roll up the ribbon and you are set for traveling.

202.  Antiqued Clothespin Art ~ Add some pizzazz to your laundry room with these fun and colorful vinyl clothespin artwork!  Add the vinyl clothespins to boards that were painted white.  An application of mod podge and staining/antiquing medium gives it the antiqued look.  You can download the free file for the clothespins.

229.  Vintage Greeting Cards ~ A little birdie told me…you can download and print these four fabulous vintage cards for free!  Yep, for free!  Simply download the file, print on card stock, score and fold.  Voila!  It’s as simple as that.

279.  Garlic Butter Breadsticks ~ Isn’t warm soft bread one of the best indulgences?  So delicious!  They compliment soup, salad, pasta, and just about any entree.  You can bake your own breadsticks in about 10 minutes using the homemade pizza dough recipe.

375.  DIY Lace Crown ~ Oh my stars, could this lace crown be any more darling?!  This would be fabulous for the birthday girl to wear at her party or even given away as party favors.  Lace, fabric stiffener, glitter, buttons and metallic paint is all you will need to make this lovely!

415.  Fabric Scraps Lamp ~ Look at this fabulous lampshade redo!  The original fabric was removed from the shade.  The metal frame was painted a fun flamingo pink.  Then, the fun part, tying strips of coordinating fabric to the frame.  For some extra flair you can wrap washi tape around the base of the low watt light bulb.

502.  Jello Cookies ~ The bright colors of these cookies are fun and fabulous!  You can make jello cookies and play dough with this delicious recipe.  Your kiddos will not only love to play with the dough, but will also love eating the baked cookies.

603.  You Rock Tin Gift ~ This adorable “You Rock” tin is a perfect year round gift for the teacher!  It’s a great idea for the beginning of the year to butter up the teacher, Valentine’s day, teacher appreciation day, or an end of the year goodbye treat.  You could whip up several in a matter of minutes because they are so easy.

Quilts for Kids, Inc. will ship the free quilt kit directly to your home.  The kit includes detailed instructions and all of the materials needed to complete a quilt minus the batting.  Once you have completed the quilt simply return it by mail.  This quilt will be cherished forever and you will feel fantastic for doing such a wonderful thing!

Four-Patch Quilt Tutorial

1.  Pin together one A strip and one B strip.  Sew them together to make a strip set.  You will make three of these strip sets. *Use a 1/4″ seam allowance for all seams.

2.  Using a rotary cutter, mat and ruler  cut the strip sets into 30 units that measure 3 1/2″ x 6 1/2″.

3.   Sew these units together to create 15 four-patch blocks that will measure 6 1/2″ square.

4.  After the four-patch blocks are assembled, lay out your blocks alternating them with the 6 1/2″ focus fabric blocks in a checkerboard pattern.  Make sure your 4-patch blocks are all set in the same direction to create diagonal lines across the quilt.

5.  Sew the blocks in each row together and press the seams from right to left.

6.  Sew rows 1-6 together.

7.  Add the side inner borders first.  Then add the top and bottom inner borders.

8.  Add your outer borders in the same manner as the inner borders, first adding the side borders and then adding the top and bottom borders.

9.  Baste the quilt layers (either with safety pins or a needle and thread).  Use only 1/8 – 1/4 inch low loft batting.

10.  ’Pillowcase’ the quilt before quilting or use traditional binding, or fold the backing to the front of the quilt.  Double fold backing to the front of the quilt and topstitch.  Keep binding on the front of the quilt to 1/4″ to 1/2″ wide.

11.  Quilt in the ditch horizontally and vertically between all blocks and diagonally.  Also, quilt around the inner border and add some quilting to the outer border.

12.  Place label on the back of the quilt and machine sew around all four sides.  Don’t forget to sign the label with a permanent fabric marker.

13.  Wash and dry the completed quilt.

You did it!  You are now ready to ship the finished quilt to Quilts for Kids Headquarters.  Wasn’t that easy?!

1. How to Create a Book Nook {before and after} ~If you have a closet that isn’t getting much use, then why not transform it into a reading nook for your kiddo?  This step by step tutorial will show you how to build your own!

I got this recipe for Taco-Stuffed Pasta Shells out of a magazine almost 10 years ago and my family loves it! I made it again on Saturday and Ethan ate 6 or 7 shells! I love finding something that my kids love to eat!

Ingredients:

• 1 box of dried jumbo pasta shells, cooked according to package directions, rinsed and drained
• 1 pound ground beef
• 1 package (1.25 ounces) Taco Seasoning Mix
• 1 cup of water
• 1 can (16-ounce) can refried beans
• 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese – divided
• 1 jar chunky salsa – divided
• 1/4 cup sliced green onions
• Sour cream (optional)

Directions:

• Preheat oven to 350°. Spread 1/4 cup salsa over bottom of casserole dish.
• Cook beef in large skillet until brown; drain.
• Add seasoning mix and water; cook over low heat for 5 minutes or until thickened.
• Add beans and 3/4 cup cheese; mix well.
• Fill pasta shells with beef mixture; place on baking dish, filled side up.
• Spoon remaining salsa over shells; top with remaining cheese.
• Cover with foil. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until heated through. Sprinkle with green onions and remaining cheese.
• Serve with sour cream.
