Beberapa kali saya memperbaiki blog, antara lain menghapus konten yang kira-kira dianggap melanggar TOS google adsense.

Pada dasarnya, proses pendaftaran adsense tidaklah sesulit yang dibayangkan, asal kita "bersih". Bersih dalam hal ini tentu saja terutama blog kita tidak menayangkan konten parnografi (kata b*g*l aja dilarang), kekerasan, sentimen SARA, dan konten berupa h4ck1ng serta syarat lain.

Nah berdasarkan pengalaman saya, mungkin ada beberapa penekanan yang wajib kita ikuti agar pengajuan adsense kita cepat diterima;

Darimana asal kunjungan blog kita? Berapa jumlah postingan yang sudah dipublikasi? Google mengharapkan kunjungan kita berasal dari google search (organik), baik google.co.id atau google.com. Bukan dari hasil tautan facebook, twitter atau web directory ataupun hasil promo email marketing. Tidak ada jumlah pasti berapa minimal posting yang ada di blog, namun saya sarankan paling tidak 15-20 postingan. silakan buka dasbor blog di Statistik > sumber lalu lintas untuk mengetahui asal kunjungan.
Jika di blog kamu ada konten "bermasalah" seperti copas mentah-mentah, konten yang melanggar hak cipta (misalnya download lagu mp3, software bajakan, contoh skripsi, wallpaper gratis dll) segera hapus postingan tersebut.

Akan muncul data informasi yang sudah sobat submit tadi, pastikan sudah valid, jika belum klik Edit Account Information, jika dirasa sudah benar klik Continue.

Akan muncul syarat-syarat aturan (TOS) dalam google adsense. Baca baik-baik aturan yang ada. Terakhir, Centang tanda persetujuan, lalu klik I ACCEPT >>

Akun adsense berhasil dibuat, selanjutnya adalah menautkannya ke blog kita. Klik Tautkan Akun Adsense.

Akan muncul Your Adsense awaiting approval yang artinya pengajuan akun adsense kita sedang dalam proses. Saran saya jangan dulu di utak-atik tata letak HTML adsense. Buka email akun google blog kita disitu akan muncul pemberitahuan.

Tunggu 2 hari dan buka kembali email google kita dan dasbor blog kita di tab penghasilan (earning tabs) akan muncul pemberitahuan bahwa pengajuan pendaftaran adsense kita telah diterima. Saya sendiri cuma 2 hari sudah diterima, Eitts jangan senang dulu, Google adsense belum akan menayangkan iklan di blog kita yang artinya pundi-pundi dolar belum bisa mengalir, hehehe. Google masih menunggu dan memperhatikan blog kita. Bersabarlah.

Why Joy Can Be Your Enemy

In previous posts, I discussed why the so-called “negative” emotions of anger, shame, sadness, andfear are actually good friends and guides. In this post, I am going to close the loop on this project by outlining why joy, a “positive” emotion, can be your enemy.

How can this be? How can joy cause trouble? What’s wrong with feeling good?

Well, nothing, of course. Except that the pursuit of joy (and the fear of losing joy) can distract us from creating long-term happiness and fulfillment. And it can even bring about circumstances that cause tremendous suffering.

But how does this happen?

In one of two ways: Attachment and Distraction.

How is attachment a problem?

Attachment can be a problem when it clouds your judgment, preventing you from making the right choices (for you) in the hopes of getting or keeping something that you think will bring you joy.

I’m sure you’ve known people who have quit their jobs and moved away from their friends and families to a new city in order to stay together with a boyfriend/girlfriend, only to find themselves dumped and far from home when what they really needed to do is accept that other person is moving away and get on with life. Attachment to that other person, wanting to get or keep the Joy that comes from being with the other person, brought that on. Similarly, people can get attached to ideas, places and objects, and let this attachment prevent them from making wise decisions.

We can also get attached to the results of our actions and create trouble for ourselves and others. How many times have we told ourselves the following:

“I’ll be happy when I get rich/get married/have kids/get a promotion/get a better house…”

Staying so focused on the payoff prevents us from enjoying the journey, and in extreme circumstances it can lead to problems brought on by unethical behavior. Whether it’s fudging taxes, covering up problems at work, lying to your spouse to keep the peace, all of them can bring serious consequences crashing down upon you…simply because you wanted the joy associated with the payoff.

Joy can be a distraction

It can be — and it may be a harmless one, like procrastinating with Facebook or playing video games instead of taking action on something that would bring achievement and fulfillment.

Starting that big project at work can be hard. Same with fixing up your house, training for a 5K or writing a book, but those things can be incredibly rewarding (much more so than playing Angry Birds). But playing Angry Birds can provide the distraction of funand joy.

Right now that prevents you from ever going down those paths.

Taken to the extreme, distraction becomes addiction. You drink/take drugs/gamble because it feels better than facing some challenge. No one becomes an addict because they honestly want the lifestyle and rewards — they do it because it feels good (initially at least), and it brings joy to have a drink or a hit or another card. If it didn’t feel good — at least in the moment — no one would do it.

But we do…because people find joy in distraction and they can’t tear themselves away from it long enough to take care of themselves.

In closing

Joy can lead to attraction and be a distraction. We get attached to another person or object, or to a certain result, and this can lead to bad decisions. Similarly, we can use momentary Joy to distract us from taking on more difficult challenges that would ultimately prove more fulfilling. Such distractions can prove devastating in the case of addictions. Joy is important, of course — I don’t think we could live without it for long.

But like the other “negative” emotions mentioned above, we need to keep it in its proper perspective.

6 Steps to Get the Best Hospital Care

It is assumed that everyone who walks through the doors of a hospital will get the same quality of care. The reality is that the hospital is a system like any other—with imperfect people, inefficiencies, misconceptions, and miscommunication. Before you find yourself taking a planned or unplanned trip to the hospital, there are a few things you can do to get the best hospital care.

1. Be your best advocate

The patient-provider interaction is undergoing an unprecedented change as information becomes increasingly accessible to the general public. You are the most important person in charge of your health; be proactive in taking care of yourself. Read books and search the Internet, however evaluate the source of any information. Realize that misinformation may be deliberate or unintentional. For rare conditions, you may become more educated than non-specialist providers who may have never encountered or experienced your diagnosis.

2. Don’t leave home without it

One of the important pieces of information obtained in any hospital admission is a list of medications the patient is taking. Patients unable to remember their medications may encounter potentially harmful complications. Realize that your memory may not be optimal in a stressful emergency department, especially if you are anxious or in pain. In extreme situations you may not even be conscious. Therefore take the time right now to gather your medications and generate a legible list that you keep in your wallet—pay particular attention to the name, dose, and frequency. It is also equally important to note any drug allergies on the same sheet of paper. If you have reacted to a drug, please note when this happened and the extent of your reaction.

3. Be the best historian

The story of your illness can change—either as you remember lost details or through the “telephone effect” as more people become involved in your care. Expect to tell the details of your circumstance at least 8-10 times if you are admitted to the emergency department. Ideally, if you are able to write down the details of your story it may reduce time and frustration as well as reduce the possibility of incorrect information being propagated in your medical records and your care.

Specifically, providers are interested in the onset of your condition (eg, slow, gradual, rapid, fluctuating), the timeline (especially if there have been recent changes), the involved parts of your body, what treatments you have tried or were done by other providers, or any factors that made your condition better or worse. Please tell them early if you have received care in other facilities as it often takes time to access outside records.

4. Remind them who you are

For various reasons it is easy for providers to lose sight of who you were before you got sick. Pictures have an incredibly profound effect on allowing providers to see you as a person and give extra motivation to help you return to that state so you can return to your friends and family.

5. Understand before you leave

Make sure you understand exactly what happened during your hospital course. What were the major treatments performed? What diagnoses were established or refuted? You should be provided with a discharge summary. Go over it and ask for any inconsistencies or errors to be fixed.

This is important because these summaries are often used by future providers to piece together your past history with your current condition. Lastly, ask your provider what records of radiological studies, pathology or surgical reports, or other tests should be obtained and brought to future encounters. It may save you from unnecessary medical procedures and prevent any future confusion. Be sure to make copies of everything, providers are notorious for not returning documents and data disks.

6. Find a partner in health

Your providers are limited by time, space, and energy. They may be unable to address all of your health needs during your admission. As a result, patients are often discharged and expected to follow up with their primary care provider. Many readmissions can be prevented if patients are able to follow up with a provider outside the hospital.

For those who are financially able, please see your primary care provider 1-2 times a year. Ask them for tailored interventions you can undertake to prevent, stabilize, or reduce disease burden in your life. As always, prevention is better than cure. Lastly, ask your provider what conditions you should include along with the list of medications and allergies you keep in your wallet.
