Google with having servers in many countries is now making its blogspot.com blogs redirect to country specific domains from now on. This move at times is surely a welcome as well as a bad move as it helps visitors get the data of the blog from their country specific domain easily and also it can be a problem with countries now looking to censor the web as the web helps better in censoring too.

Google had an official announcement for this regard describing things the easier way.

Q: Why am I seeing a URL change?
A: Over the coming weeks you might notice that the URL of a blog you're reading has been redirected to a country-code top level domain, or "ccTLD."
For example, if you're in Australia and viewing http://killmaths.blogspot.com, you might be redirected http://killmaths.blogspot.com.au. and similarly in India the blog will be redirected to http://killmaths.blogspot.in so as of now blogspot.com is redirecting to blogspot.in and blogspot.com.au which with time will increase later.

A ccTLD, when it appears, corresponds with the country of the reader’s current location.

The change doesn't produce any other visible differences to the blog other than the URL redirecting to a ccTLD. For people like us who use custom domains the change doesn't have any effect

Q: Where will I see this change?

The Blogger has announced the Threaded comment style commenting widget for official blogger based blogs, which now makes the commenting style much simpler and easier to differentiate direct comments for the post and reply comments for a comment.

The Threaded comment activation for the blogs are different for both blogger based templates and custom blogger templates.The following steps are required to enable threaded comments in the Blog

For Official Blogger Templates ---->

Enabling threaded comments in official blogger templates is much easier and simpler and can be done by just enabling the blogger feed to full and embedding the comment form below posts automatically enables the threaded comments in the blog.

To check or change the settings in Draft.blogger.com view select: Settings > Other >, and then Full from the Allow Blog Feed dropdown

To check or change the settings in blogger.com view select: Settings > Site Feed >, and then Full from the Allow Blog Feed dropdown

To check or change the comment form settings in draft view select: Settings > Posts and Comments, and select Embedded from the Comment Location dropdown.

To check or change the comment form settings in normal view select: Settings > Comments, and select Embedded below post in comment form placement option.

With the above steps done the reply link can be seen below the comments and threaded comment action takes place with replies to comments automatically in official blogger templates.

As most of the blogger users use custom templates and not the default blogger based templates depending on their uses so the threaded comments for custom templates doesn't get active after following the steps for enabling threaded comment form like mentioned for default blogger templates.

Enabling of threaded comments widget for custom blogger templates requires a additional steps after following the steps of that mentioned by blogger or mentioned here above in official blogger templates. Here HTML code must be added(or replaced) for the threaded blogger comment widget to work.

If finding out Code the 2nd time becomes confusing then just replace Code 2 both the times also with Code 1 to make the stuff removed.

Note: The disadvantages of present form of blogger threaded comment is that author comments cannot be highlighted, custom smiley's cannot be activated, comment cannot be numbered and so on and this minor problem can be fixed with change in the code which is inserted by blogger automatically while enabling threaded comments and will come up with a solution for all these things very soon in the blog so that customized threaded comments will be better and used. This is the main reason Tipsntweaks is not using threaded comments as of now in its blog but will use it customized threaded widget shortly which is gonna be posted on the blog very soon.

Nicolas Steno's 374th Birthday Google doodle

Google releasing Doodles to celebrate occasions like birthday of famous personalities, festival celebration and so on is common from 1998 since when the google started releasing doodles.

Now on January 11th it has released 1 more doodle on the occasion of Nicolas Steno's(11 January 1638 – 25 November 1686) 374th Birthday and he was a Danish pioneer in both anatomy and geology. By 1659 he had decided not to accept anything simply written in a book, resolving instead to do research himself. He is considered the father of geology and stratigraphy.

As Nicolas Steno is considered the father of geology and stratigraphy the Doodle released by the google is similar to that of different layers of the earth from atmosphere to innercore of the earth with different layers of rock, water, sand and so on present in each of the "Google" words which are shown as elements.

In this Doodle

1) The Element "G" is Basically a 5 layered particle having the environment with plants,birds, fossils and greenery on the top layer followed by minerals and sand in 2nd and 3rd layers and then the water in the 4th layer representing the underground water and finally the hard rock element in the 5th layer.

2) The Element "o" is of 4 layered where the 1st layer has the greenery and environment with rivers whereas plants and birds are missing here like it was in the previous element and the 2nd and 3rd layers of minerals and sand like in the previous element is represented as a combined composite mineral layer in the 2nd layer itself here, the water and the hard rock element layers are 3rd and 4th layers and are similar to that of the previous element style.

3) The Element "o" is also a 4 layered stuff and similar to that of the 2nd element o and the difference between these two elements is this element is having plants and birds along with the greenery in the upper environment layer while the rivers are missing here and the rest of the layers are similar with that of the other layers like in the 2nd element.

4) The Element "g" is also a 4 layered stuff and the 1st environment layer has greenery and birds in it with the below 3 layers being exactly similar to that of 2nd element o with the difference of each layers being more deeper here than of the "o" element.

5) The Element "L" is a 5 layered stuff where the 1st layer of environment has greenery in it while the remaining 4 layers below is similar to that of the element "G".

6) The Element "e" being the final element of the series is a 3 layered material with the 1st layer of environment having greenery, plants and birds in it, unlike the other elements before here the sand and mineral layers embedded to the water layer of the element while the hard rock soil layer being the last layer like in previous elements.

Recently i noticed that Adsense is displaying Ads of other Ad networks for those sites which have a decent amount of traffic. The Adsense ads are competed with ads of other Ad networks and finally the highest paying Adnetwork's Ads are displayed in the Ad space and in general most of the times Adsense is the highest paying Ad network so Adsense Ads are displayed most of the times.

The other adnetworks Ad display with impressions, clicks, earnings data can be checked out by checking full reports in the adsense login page then the Adnetwork link present in the left sidebar.

here is the report of my last week earnings having data of impressions,clicks and earnings displayed in adsense reports which basically has Adsense based Ads earnings highly than the other types

Youtube easter eggs "snow", "playing snake", "wadsworth constant"

Youtube being a google product also has its own kind of easter eggs which can are similar to that of google search based easter eggs and just as many youtube tricks were shared in the blog before now 3 different youtube easter eggs are explained in brief here.

1) Playing Snake in Youtube : Snake game can be played while watching videos on youtube asusually. While watching a video hold the left key and then press the up key while still holding the left key which makes the snake game to be launched.The process of the game loading happens in 2 steps basically, holding the left arrow key makes the video to rewind and load momentarily and pressing the up arrow key while the video is loading makes the player to launch the snake game.

The trick basically works for youtube's new player only and for those videos only without annotations and ads in the video, also the trick is limited to videos played on youtube only and doesn't work on embedded videos. Here is a example video of how the thing works basically.

2) Snowfall effects in youtube : The youtube player has a new button of a snowflake clicking which while playing a video provides a snowfall effect in the video being watched similar to that of google search's let it snow. The search queries for things like snow and christmas gets a simplified snow animation on the search query.

3) Wadsworth Skip : In Youtube adding &wadsworth=1 to the URL will apply Wadsworth's constant (skip 30%). Basically Wadsworth Constant is a fundamental idea that the true meaning of a video, conversation, or comment approaches importance after approximately 30% of it has been skipped over. so applying wadsworth constant to youtube videos make the video to skip approx 30% of the video.

HP LaserJet Firmware Update to fix security flaws

Recently around a month back a group of researchers had found out security flaws in HP laserjet printers which can be used for hacking to burn down or explode the printer remotely which can be read in detail here.

HP announced that the potential existed for a certain type of unauthorized access to some HP LaserJet printers and confirmed it has received no customer reports of unauthorized access. HP today issued the following statement:

HP has built a firmware update to mitigate this issue and is communicating this proactively to customers and partners. No customer has reported unauthorized access to HP. HP reiterates its recommendation to follow best practices for securing devices by placing printers behind a firewall and, where possible, disabling remote firmware upload on exposed printers.

Google's Doodle wishes Happy Holidays

Google's Social networking site Orkut which was the leading social networking site till recently before facebook overtook it and still is in brazil as of now, has introduced the like feature for posts in the orkut community forums for the 1st post only as of now(probably could be extended to other posts also later).

update: The like option has been extended to each and every posts ad replies in the forum now but still it lacks clarity as people cannot differentiate the different smiley's been used as it just shows the total number likes with the latest like smiley been liked and also people cannot find out who has liked the post and so on.

The new like feature in the orkut forums allows the users to like using different smileys just like they can do it in their wall and scrapbook. Although the move looks like a ventillator added to a dying patient seeing the depleting range of orkut's traffic in many countries due to influence of facebook and google's own googleplus social networking site.

Indian Govt plans to Censor internet

Recently Kapil Sibal the telecom minister of India talked of censoring the content over internet as it had criticisms against the Empress of the India(Sonia Gandhi because even though constitutionally nation is a democratic and republic country but basically it is under the rule of just 1 family from independence) and their protege and stooges(which inculdes many congress barkers like rahul gandhi, digvijay singh, kapil sibal, abhishek manu singhvi, manish tiwary, chidambaram etc...) and this censorship style and finishing of the critcisers and others is not something new for the congress party as it is one such thing which is followed from ages since the britishman A.O Hume formed congress in 1885 to divert the real support people like Birsa munda, Vasudev Balwant phadke etc.. were getting while fighting against the british and it remained the same till tilak hijacked congress from british control and this same congress party has many feather of caps which goes to the extent of even finishing of its criticisers sometimes in the past and it used to go unnoticed due to no medium for the message to be spread out freely.

Thanks to the evolution of internet people can talk freely and express their views in forums, social networking sites and so on freely which in other words is the purest form of democracy for the people as people can express their views freely and openly and now the indian govt plan to curb that freedom shows the mentallity of these people as they are afraid to be criticised for misgovernance, loot of the nation(which alone has more than 400 lakh crores of black money stashed in tax heavens), rowdism by its goons and many more.

India Asks Google, Facebook to Screen User Content

The Indian government has asked Internet companies and social media sites like Facebook to prescreen user content from India and to remove disparaging, inflammatory or defamatory content before it goes online, three executives in the information technology industry say.

Top officials from the Indian units of Google, Microsoft, Yahoo and Facebook are meeting with Kapil Sibal, India’s acting telecommunications minister, on Monday afternoon to discuss the issue, say two executives of Internet companies. The executives asked not to be identified because they are not authorized to speak to the media on the issue.

Mr. Sibal’s office confirmed that he would meet with Internet service providers Monday but did not provide more information about the content of the meeting.
About six weeks ago, Mr. Sibal called legal representatives from the top Internet service providers and Facebook into his New Delhi office, said one of the executives who was briefed on the meeting.

At the meeting, Mr. Sibal showed attendees a Facebook page that maligned the Congress Party’s president, Sonia Gandhi. “This is unacceptable,” he told attendees, the executive said, and he asked them to find a way to monitor what is posted on their sites.

In the second meeting with the same executives in late November, Mr. Sibal told them that he expected them to use human beings to screen content, not technology, the executive said.

The three executives said Mr. Sibal has told these companies that he expects them to set up a proactive prescreening system, with staffers looking for objectionable content and deleting it before it is posted.

The executives said representatives from these companies will tell Mr. Sibal at the meeting on Monday that his demand is impossible, given the volume of user-generated content coming from India, and that they cannot be responsible for determining what is and isn’t defamatory or disparaging.

“If there’s a law and there’s a court order, we can follow up on it,” said an executive from one of the companies attending the meeting. But these companies can’t be in the business of deciding what is and isn’t legal to post, he said.

Yahoo, Facebook and Microsoft did not respond immediately to calls for comment, and a Google spokeswoman said the company had no comment on the issue. Facebook said earlier this year it has more than 25 million users in India. Google has over 100 million Internet users in India.

The demand is the Indian government's latest attempt to monitor and control electronic information. In April, the ministry issued rules demanding internet service providers delete information posted on websites that officials or private citizens deemed disparaging or harassing. Last year, the government battled with BlackBerry's manufacturer, Research In Motion, threatening to shut the company's service off in India if it did not allow government officials greater access to users' messages.

The Indian government also plans to set up its own unit to monitor information posted on websites and social media sites, executives said, which will report to Gulshan Rai, the director general of India's cyber-security monitor.

A man who answered the phone in Mr. Rai's office said he did not talk to the press and hung up when a reporter asked for a press contact.

Some Indian cities like Mumbai have already set up special units to monitor internet sites like Facebook and Orkut, the social networking site operated by Google, for content considered disparaging or obscene. India has made nearly 70 requests to Google to remove content between January and June of this year, one of the highest request rates of any country though less than the United States's 92 and Brazil's 224, according to Google's transparency report.

It seems to look like congress party is in tremendous amount of fear seeing the support it got for movements like janlokpal bill recently in the internet social networking sites.

As a human i can sense the pain of people like kapil sibal experiencing due to seeing criticism against their goddess because we had seen people like M.F hussian drawing crap in name of art getting the support of the same "intellectuals" like sibal before in name of art and they never cared for sentiments of hindus to take action against hussian for his pervertness in name of art in which he wrote hindu gods and goddesses nude but never dared to do the same for his own religion or other religions as he knew what its result would have been.

on a quick glance of history we can see some movements by the 1 family and its controllers suppressing criticism and difference of opinion with many people and at that time it never made big issue or news because there was no proper medium for mass communication at that point of time and the evolution of internet has made it possible now.

1) Gandhi having Difference of opinion with tilak in 1910's and leading to split of party on issue of asking home rule and full support to british in WW1 where tilak demanded swaraj(home rule) for support to british in WW1 and gandhi supporting british unconditionally and issue got solved with mysterious death of Balagangadhar tilak with congress getting back to single fold.

2) Subhash Chandra Bose was forced to resign from president of congress post and then expelled from congress as he defeated gandhis candidate pattabhi sitaramayya in election and was elected congress president and tried to militarize the congress to fight the britishers for independence.

3) Revolutionists like Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, Sukhdev, Chandrashekar Azad etc... are called as terrorists in history books now and only gandhi and nehru are portrayed as lone freedom fighters.

4) Freedom fighters like Rash Bihari Bose, Aurobindo, HSRA group are not even mentioned once as they had called then top congress leaders and muslim league leaders as british agents.

5) Nathuram Godse killing of Mohandas Gandhi caused death of nothing less than 5k brahmins then in maharastra and other parts of india because godse was brahmin by caste and killed congress leader gandhi who was epitome of "ahimsa".

6) In 1942 a press name new delhi herald published nude pics of gandhi with other mens wives and girls in bed only to for the press to be burnt down and even today some copies of those paper are available across many libraries in US, while the issue got closed with the name of experimentation of brahmacharya.

8) Bhopal gas tragedy killed 25k people in bhopal with it and then union carbide owner anderson was allowed to escape to USA as per rajeev gandhi's direction. The famous criminal lawyer Ramjethmalani says that rajeev got billions of dollars for allowing anderson to escape and closing down the case with no rehab for vicitm of survivors and mini compensation for death victim relatives and this was reported in only vernacular media like vijaya karnataka a year odd back.

9) Now the censorship of internet is on cards as it has criticism against the govt and its policies wow.

10) in 1961 jan 11th after the haridwar kumbhmela naga sadhus were protesting against ban on cow slaughter in front of then PM nehru's house which irked nehru only to order fire against naga sadhus killing many(god knows how many actually died and really what happened as the news was suppressed like that) in the aurangzeb road.

and many more stories which are gone in the books of history unnoticed.

If people post false/propoganda content law is there to take care of its own course with time but how can the flatterers understand this as they only know flattering of their respective leaders(gods) and can't even digest criticism :D

Till now hackers could have only affected you online but researchers at Columbia University say that now that they can even burn your house, sitting in any part of the world. Yes, only with the help of some set of codes and your LaserJet Printer! It is worth mentioning here that the hackers can use the embedded systems in your printer. According to a Crazy Engineers report, these are small computers that are capable of connecting to the Internet, while most of today’s printers are smart enough to be functional as an individual unit, nothing much have been done to make them secure.

The researchers from Columbia University demonstrated this flaw by hacking a computer and heating up the fuser of the printer. They overloaded it with some instructions, which turned the paper brown and smoke. The thermal switch of the printer was shut down during this demonstration, which caused it burst into flames.

HP's printers allow a remote firmware update before starting a printer, but they miss out on examining the source for authenticity. The hackers can send codes to the printer and hack it to alter the current version of the printer’s firmware. The altered code gets inside the embedded system so deeply that the only way to get rid of it is to remove them and run manual test.

Commenting on the issue, Keith Moore, chief technologist, HP, said that they will take the issue 'very seriously'. Moore exclaimed that all new printers from the company since 2009 require digital signatures for firmware updates and that the printers used by the researchers were older models.

The report by Crazy Engineers quoted Moore as saying, "Home users would not be much affected as most of them have InkJet printers, which do not allow remote firmware updates. But organisations and other users of LaserJet printers need to look into the security aspect more seriously."

Enabling Telnet in Windows 8

Telnet is a network protocol used on the Internet or LAN's or WAN's to provide a bidirectional interactive text-oriented communications facility using a virtual terminal connection. User data is interspersed in-band with Telnet control information in an 8-bit byte oriented data connection over the Transmission Control Protocol (TCP).

The procedure of enabling/disabling the telnet in the system is similar with that of SNMP which was explained in the blog previously here.

The process of enabling telnet in windows 8 which is disabled by default configuration of the system is similar to that of previous windows operating systems like Windows 7, Windows Vista etc.. like explained in this post.

Steps to enable telnet:

1)Go to Control Panel

2)Cick on Uninstall a Program(if u r in tile View then select programs and features)

3)Click on Turn Windows Features On/Off and select Telnet Client and Telnet Server options to be enabled and click ok and then wait for few minutes for telnet to be installed and once installed telnet can be accessed from command prompt, restart of the system after installation is not required.

4) Telnet ultility can be accessed via command prompt by typing "telnet" without quotes and pressing enter in command prompt.

5) Establish the connection via telnet to your hostname via direct port for ex:
