Latvian musician Martins Freimanis died aged 33 but no further information concerning the cause of death is yet known than he had complications to influenza. Martins participated in the 2003 Eurovision Song Contest with the group FLY, he was the author of the 2005 Latvian entry as well.

Freimanis had been in hospital for several days, it is possible that he died of flu complications.

Freimanis was born in Liepaja on February 7, 1977.

Freimanis was the lead singer for the pop/rock band "Tumsa" since 1994. The band has released six albums, making Freimanis one of the most popular singers in Latvia. Freimanis also wrote songs for other popular singers and bands, including Lauris Reiniks, "Putnu balle", "PeR" and others.

In 2004, a book of Freimanis' poems was published; Freimanis also had the title role in Liepaja Theater's production "Kaupen, mans milais" in 2005, and he debuted in Latvian State Television's television series "Neprata cena" in 2007.

We are going to set up PPC campaigns to promote ClickBank products.
And now I’m shortly going to explain some things that might not everybody

know. If you feel comfortable enough to skip this short overview, nobody is

going to stop you…

PPC

Pay Per Click is an search engine and simple advertising model which is
used in order to get people visiting your website without organic search engine traffic.

In fact you won’t

have to build backlinks or implant complicated SEO strategies to receive

visitors. It’s time consuming ranking in big search engines like Google or Bing.

PPC is the lazy way, but it’s full of risk. We are going to minimize the risk in this guide. It takes less time than other methods and you can concentrate on your campaigns.

ClickBank

ClickBank.com is a big Affiliate Network used by thousands of peoples over the

world. In fact, it doesn’t matter if you are in China, USA, UK or somewhere else. Signing up is for free.

ClickBank does pay with Checks bi-weekly. It may take some time to receive the check, but they have never failed.

THE WHOLE PROCESS IN OVERVIEW

We build a campaign around a ClickBank product and create an easy website, better say Landing Page.

Visitors are clicking on the ads and come to our Site. The traffic is targeted.

Then we have a nice and little Presell. You “warm-up” the visitor, this is going

to improve the conversions significant. It’s really easy, even my little sister can

do it.

The visitor clicks on our Affiliate Link and is directed to the product. There he

SETTING UP THE ADVERTISING ACCOUNT

You have probably heard from Google Adwords or Adsense, the major

Advertising Network for online ads. There are some others like MSN Ad Center or Yahoo Advertising as well, but as you might know there is lots of competition with these PPC networks.

Most of the people use Google Adwords and loose

more money overnight than they have ever earned from the internet.

It’s pretty normal to lose money by setting up several campaigns, but it has to

have limits.

So far, so good. At this point you have both accounts, a ClickBank and a

BidVertiser. If you had been struggling with ClickBank and there were no sales or only a few the last time, try to open a new account with ClickBank.

I have often heard that there may be problems with old accounts, whether it’s true or not, do not use your old account (you should have opened a new one at this point). You can sign up as often as you want and there shouldn’t be any problems with multiple accounts. As I heard from a guy in a thread in the

Warrior Forum, there is the possibility that ClickBank banned your account

without your notice.

When you search through Google for keywords discussing Paid Traffic and

ClickBank, you often hear about “Pro” stuff.

Only professional can handle PPC because of the high risk in losing money. Most times it’s not false.

You can lose much money, but you can also win much money. In our case we have a $20 Free Coupon to burn; this is something that takes risk down.

PICKING A CLICKBANK PRODUCT TO PROMOTE

Now we are going to pick a ClickBank product which we use to set up in our

campaign.

We want targeted traffic from BidVertiser. But, as you know, the traffic is cheap

and it’s not often as targeted as you might think… For this case we are going to

choose a product that might be interesting for any visitor who comes to our

site. If we choose “How to train a dog”, it’s better to advertise with Google

Adwords because the quality of the traffic is the best (you can even set up age

range).

I concentrate on the “Money Making” niche and “Business/Investing”. You can

find products for our campaigns in the following categories:

Business/Investing

Computer/Internet

E-business & E-marketing

Employment & Jobs

As you see, these are the biggest categories in ClickBank and the bestselling as

well. But, I forgot to mention: The Health/Losing Weight Niche is also high

profitable.

Health and Fitness

I picked one example to give you a little explanation on important product

information. In most times the headline is also the product name. The Avg

$/sale is the amount of money you will get for a sale. Often vendors are

offering a discount to the visitor when he leaves the site. If someone buys with

a discount, you will get less money.

Future $: This number only applies to recurring billing products (i.e.,

products like memberships and subscriptions that regularly bill customers over

time). This number shows the average amount an affiliate makes on all of the

rebilled sales. Note that this number doesn’t include the original sale amount.

Total $/sale: For one-time purchases, this number is the same as $/sale. For

recurring billing products, it equals the average total of the initial sale plus all

rebills, divided by the number of initial sales. To put it simply, for every new

purchase of this product, this amount is the average you’d make in total over

the life of the new customer. However, this is just an average; this amount is

not guaranteed.

Avg %/sale: This number shows the average commission rate earned for all

sales of a vendor’s products. Since vendors can offer different commission

rates for different types of products, this number may not exactly match the

commission rate you earn on any given sale.

%refd: This is the percentage of sales that were referred by affiliates. This

can give you an indication of how popular a product is with affiliates, and how

competitive it might be to promote it.

Grav: Short for Gravity, this number represents a unique calculation by

ClickBank that takes into account the number of different affiliates who earned

a commission by promoting this product over the past 8 weeks. Since more

recent transactions are given a higher value, this number can give you an idea

of what products are “hot” at the moment, in terms of being promoted by

many affiliates and making a good number of sales. However, high gravity can

also indicate that there will be a lot of competition in promoting this product.

Cat: The Marketplace category and sub-category of the site.

For your choice it’s important to promote a product with an average sale

between $20 and above. I do only use products with gravity between 20 and

more, because it shows you that the sales page does convert and generate

sales. If you choose a product with a gravity of 500, you wouldn’t have a chance

to get good positions with Google Adwords because of the competitions

(unless you pay much money for clicks…).

PRODUCTS I PROMOTE

I immolate a good source of money when I reveal my money makers :) But for

this WSO, my first one, I will reveal the secret... I want YOU to make money the easy way! The next time I will probably see more people promoting these

products, but who cares… Be sure: If more than a few people promote these

products, it won’t be profitable anymore (for these products); it may be helpful

for you to search another product similar to the following ones:

BUILDING A LANDING PAGE

As I have to admit to your thoughts: Landing Pages are helpful in getting more

sales, but very annoying to build… At the beginning I just did direct linking from

the Ad and I was profitable, but with my own Landing Page I made even more

money.

It’s hard to believe, but most people fail WITH or WITHOUT landing pages.

When people notice they should build a

landing page, the first problem is: Where to get it or how to build it? Secondly

landing pages can decrease your conversions or EVEN destroy your campaign.

I’m not good at writing codes because I’m too lazy to learn every strip… It’s

easier for me to search for other solutions, and this is your luck. First of all:

WordPress! I often work with WordPress for Offline clients and as a content

management system.

If you can handle to edit them the right way it’s fine. When you finished your

landing page you have to be confident with the work! If you are not confident

with the site, it won’t work. I worked for around 2 days on my own landing

page and it was worth the time.

WHAT’S THE LANDING PAGE CONTENT ?

I didn’t make a review of the product; it was more a personal story of mine. I

preselled the visitors in my very own way. You have to be yourself, acting

someone else is not working. I also added three pictures, me and my girlfriend

and another one. This was for the “Make Money Taking Survey” product. I

wanted them to enter their email and click “Enter”. When they read the “real”

sales page, it will sell itself. Think about what might be interesting. There are

many tutorials on landing pages and it’s not easy to finish a great landing page.

Make sure to write a catchy headline and an excited story.

Hosting

To upload the landing page you need a webhoster. If you haven’t got a

possibility to host your site, you can choose a free webhoster. I don’t prefer

them , as you can rely on them. I personally recommend using GoDaddy.

Domain

You have to purchase a domain name if you use a landing page. This is not

expensive. Check GoDaddy or cheapdomainnames.com.

At this chapter you’ve build your landing page and it’s up running hopefully.

SETTING UP THE BIDVERTISER CAMPAIGN

Ok, we are ready to set up our Campaign. Log into your BidVertiser Advertiser

account now and we will see this screen:

If you haven’t funded your Account with some money, you can go to “MANAGE

FUNDS” and add some money via PayPal. It will directly go into your account so

you haven’t got to wait a longer time.

Then you are going to click on “ADS CENTER” and “Add New Ad”

We want to create a Text Ad, right?

When you click “Text Ad” you will get to the page where you have to select

your categories.

As you have decided which product you want to promote in a previous chapter,

you should know which categories you have to choose. If you have taken the

“Make Money Taking Surveys” Product, you can include the “Business”

category, “Computer & Internet > Home Business & Get Paid To Surf/Read...”,

“Education > Colleges & Universities (Because the product might be interesting

for students)”, “Lifestyle & Family (It also targets the “mother” market)”.

When you are ready to go you click on “Done Selecting”.

Keywords are important! Sometimes the Vendor is offering keyword lists that

you can use. I wouldn’t recommend using these lists with Google Adwords

because high numbers of Affiliates are taking exactly the same keywords

(higher CPC).

You can see the Keyword Suggestion Tool on the left hand side of the screen.

When you insert a keyword, you will get some more phrases. If you like a few

of them you can click on “Add” to put them into your Keyword list.

Every time I build my campaigns I use the most popular keyword tool, the

Google Adwords Keyword Tool.

First you have to select your country and the language. In this example I used

“Money with surveys” to get more keywords.

Google is giving me keyword ideas based on their search engine.

I click on “Add all 20” to get these keywords. Then, on the right hand side you

can download the keywords you added to a text file.

From your editor you can copy all keywords and insert them into the

BidVertiser keyword list. As I mentioned before, the traffic from BidVertiser is

less targeted then the traffic from Google. For this reason I’m not spending too

much time doing keyword research. If you add more keywords to your list, you

will get more traffic. I’m normally adding 50 keywords for one campaign.

When you finished the keyword page, move on to “Geo Targeting”. There you

select the countries where you want your ad to be published. For the “Make

Money Taking Surveys” I added the following countries:

US, Canada, Australia, United Kingdom and South Africa

SET BIDS

Ok, there you go…. You are shocked by the high Average Bid Range? No fear,

they want to get YOUR money. What you are going to do is setting your Bids to

around $0.05-$0.13.

It depends on your category: If you think that the Home Biz category will be

quality traffic for your product, you can pay more per Click. When a campaign

was profitable, I went to $0.2 Maximum Cost per Click.

Please notice: If you set the Maximum Bid to 0.4, the clicks will cost you 0.4.

What I want to say is: BidVertiser is always going to take the money you offer

for a Click. Don’t expect to pay 0.25 for a click if you set the maximum bid to

0.28.

You WILL get traffic to your site, even if you are bidding low prices for a click.

Just try it before you are disappointed that you could have paid less for a click

for the same amount of traffic.

TWIST

I played with BidVertiser and started to test some things. I chose different

products like Maverick Money Makers and Google Sniper.

When setting up the campaign for each product I took EVERY category and

many keywords! My idea was to get CHEAP traffic to my sites; so I set the

maximum Bid cost to the lowest amount possible, $0.05.

I made some calculations on how much visitors I need to be profitable- and the

result is amazing. If I get 300 visitors to a product and I can expect one sale

from each product, I make around $30 from the Affiliate Commission. As the

click price is only $0.05, I have to spend $15 for advertising: Profit: $15! When I

set up 5 profitable campaigns on this method, I can make $75 profit alone from

these little thoughts! I mean, this is much money for little work.

WHAT NOW ?

When your campaign is approved (it normally takes around 1-2 days), it goes

live. You will receive visitors to your site and you can change your maximum

click bids while the ad is live.

Track, Learn and be Profitable! As you have seen in this report, it IS possible to make money this way.

Google News Launches Experimental Source Meta Tags for Publications

Google has released a couple of meta tags it wants news publications to use in order to indicate original and syndicated reporting to Google News. To be fair, the company says it is "experimenting" with the tags, but this seems like an experiment that is destined to fail.

Don't get me wrong, the concept behind the tags is noble enough - get proper credit to those who deserve it. Nothing wrong with that. Unfortunately, no magical meta tags are likely to accomplish this at any consistent level.

First, off here's what they are. There's one for "syndication-source" which is designed to indicate the preferred URL for a syndicated article. In cases where there are two versions of an article, Google wants publishers to use the tag to point them to the right one they would like Google News to use. It looks like this:

The second one is called "original-source". Google wants publishers to use this one to give credit to a source that broke a story. It looks like this:

"In both cases, it's perfectly valid for a metatag to point to the current page URL," Google software engineer Eric Weigle and Publisher Technical specialist Abe Epton explain in a blog post. "It's also fine for there to be multiple original-source metatags on one page, to indicate a variety of original reporting leading up to the current article. If you’re not sure of the exact URL to provide in either case, just use the domain of the site that should be credited."

"Although these metatags are already in use by our systems, you may not notice their impact right away," the duo adds. "We'll need some time to observe their use 'in the wild' before we can make the best use of them. But we're hopeful that this approach will help determine original authorship, and we encourage you to take advantage of them now."

The Potential for Abuse

The approach may help Google determine original authorship in some cases, and it just as easily may totally mislead them, and more importantly it may mislead readers.

Matt McGee at Search Engine Land makes two great points: "Meta tags are, in some circles, an invitation to spam. And there's nothing to stop Joe's Search Blog from scraping and re-publishing this article, while also using one or both of these tags to claim that his is the original version. Worse, there's also nothing to stop a high-trust, authoritative site from using — or misusing, to be more accurate — these tags."

Would "authoritative" sites ever do that? I can't imagine. I'm sure Search Engine Land can't either. You may recall earlier this year when Danny Sullivan called out a bunch of publications for failing to credit him as a source.

Is it possible that Google asking publishers to use these tags is simply pointing out the flaws in the Google News model? The whole thing comes down to reader trust, and it's hard to trust an algorithm. People trust humans (certain ones anyway), which is why social is becoming such a big factor in search. It's also why many news consumers are increasingly relying on curation from sources they trust, whether that comes in the form of a site like Techmeme (which typically seems to do a fairly good job at this [though not always perfect either] without any special meta tags), or simply following someone's Twitter list (or creating their own, for that matter).

Google clearly understands the power social has on relevancy. They just launched a recommendation engine for local search based on this very principle.

Eerily, I can't help but be reminded of some words Bruce Clay shared with us in an interview at Pubcon last week. "I don't believe we're going to get into a situation where Google's going to pass on an opportunity to control the flow of news," he said. "Whoever owns news on the web is pretty influential on the web. It is an excellent opportunity to direct people where you want them to go, to cause things to happen the way you want them to happen."

The fact of the matter is that if a publication is trustworthy enough to credit the original source in a meta tag, they're going to be trustworthy enough to credit them in the article itself, in most cases with a link. It is highly doubtful that all of the trustworthy people out there covering stories will take the time to insert these extra steps into their routines just to make Google's job easier, especially when social networks like Twitter and Facebook are playing an increasingly large part in how people are getting their online news. And the system is not even for Google as a whole. Just for the much narrower Google News.

Maybe I'll be proven wrong, but I just don't see this catching on to any large degree. What do you think?

Just Say No to SEO Articles

Last week I was speaking with a potential client in need of SEO consulting who told me that they had been working on their product part e-commerce website over the past few months by adding "SEO articles" to it on a regular basis. "SEO articles?" I thought. "Why would an e-commerce site that sells product parts need articles about SEO ?"

Of course, I knew they weren't talking about writing articles about SEO, but writing articles for SEO. Which is often just as silly. Unfortunately, I hear this on a regular basis because so many believe that writing keyword-stuffed articles is somehow an SEO requirement. They don't know why they might need these articles -- only that, for whatever reason, the Google Gods want them. And so they write articles that no one would be interested in reading, but which are stuffed chock-full of the keywords for which they would like Google to show their site.
And then they wonder why it's not happening for them.

"Did we not provide Google with the SEO articles they require?" they ask incredulously.

"Why does Google not show our 'History of Product Part A' article when someone is searching to buy one of them?"

"Let me explain," I say, and ask them to put themselves in the shoes of the potential buyer.

"If you were looking to buy Product Part A, which page would you rather find in Google? The one with the product part information, the price, choice of color/size, information on how to purchase it, and an 'add to shopping cart' button? Or the one that tells you the history of said product part?"

The choice, of course, is easy when presented that way. And suddenly – BAM! It all starts to make sense.

"That was exactly MY thought before we embarked on this crazy SEO scheme!" they reply. "It just didn't make any sense to me, but I figured that Google was just weird and had its own reasons for liking stuff like that. So why do so many SEOs recommend this?" is their next logical question.

I wanted to tell them that most SEOs don't have the slightest clue what Google really wants. But instead I told them that it's usually because many SEO consultants don't have a good grasp of why they do what they do. Once upon a time, some of them probably stumbled upon some websites that provided a lot of valuable industry information via a blog or resource center, and noticed that the site also did well in Google. So they put 2 and 2 together and came up with the not-so-brilliant idea of writing articles created solely for SEO purposes -- and then they spread the information to the many places online where SEO myths are propagated.

And the SEO article creation industry was spawned.

Let's step back for a moment and look at the difference between "SEO articles" and information provided on a site that is there without regard to SEO.

When your goal is to create SEO articles, you'll almost always make the wrong decision on what to write about or how to write it because you'll be thinking about search engines rather than your target audience. Anything and everything you write or post to your website needs to have a reason for being there.

And that reason is not SEO.

What you add to your site should always enhance it in the eyes of your target audience. If an article about the history of Product Part A is truly something your target audience would be interested in -- that is, it helps those people who might purchase the product make their decision -- then by all means, write that article. But don't lie to yourself. Your gut will let you know if you really do believe it will be helpful, or if you are just looking for an easy way out!

Your goal is to get into the mind of your potential buyers and figure out what their pain points might be. What might hinder them from buying a particular product? What might prevent them from buying it from you? Maybe they're not sure if the part will fit the gizmo that they were buying it for. Maybe they don't understand why the latest version of Product Part A (rev.2.56) is worth so much more than the previous version (rev.2.0). So write an article pointing out the differences, and why the manufacturer decided to rev it up, and how the extra money it costs will be well worth paying because it will likely last twice as long.

That is useful information for your target audience.

It's also an article that others interested in Product Part A might link to. And it sets you up as an expert on those types of products. You don't need to think about SEO when you write such an article, because that's not why you're writing it. And yet, by the very act of *not* thinking about SEO, you'll have created a potential SEO boon for your site.

The article itself will likely show up for long-tail searches relating to Product Part A (perhaps when people are seeking out the differences between the two revs). And if it naturally garners links, that link juice will spread to the rest of your site, providing your sales pages with a better chance at ranking for your money terms -- i.e., pages that bring in people who are ready to purchase now.

So banish the notion of "SEO articles" from your vocabulary. Optimize the actual pages of your site that are there to do business, and provide as much additional information as you can that will set your business apart from the others. Get into the head of your potential customers and give them exactly what they need to become informed buyers who want to purchase only from you.

Should Gmail Be Worried About Facebook?

You've no doubt heard or read about Facebook's new messaging announcement this week. If not, the company announced a new messaging system to combine email, SMS, IM, Chat, and other forms of online communication, bringing them into one inbox. Along with this comes @facebook.com email addresses. CEO Mark Zuckerberg described the system as "starting from scratch" as opposed to being a Facebook email product.

Pat Matthews, SVP of RackSpace's cloud computing business, which includes business email, shared some thoughts with us about the impact Facebook's new offering will have on the email industry. RackSpace itself powers business email for over 2 million users.
"I don't think Facebook will encroach on business mail, at least not anytime soon, mostly because of the security and privacy implications," Matthews tells WebProNews. "Facebook is very consumer oriented and I don't see this crossing into business anytime soon. Mark Zuckerberg has specifically stated the company is all about consumers. His focus is leading them to greatness."

"I do think consumer mail is at risk," he adds. "Consumers live in Facebook, not on Google. I think that Gmail and AOL should be worried."

Still, Google has Google Apps going for it, which it has now expanded to encompass most of the company's offerings. That could play a significant role in keeping businesses using Google, though Gmail has always been a part of Google Apps. I have to wonder if Google's news wasn't somehow spurred by Facebook's.

Google Turning into a Local Search Engine?

"Facebook users will use Facebook mail as an extension of their already popular messaging services," says Matthews. "I have no doubt this will be extremely popular."

"Facebook is one of the most innovative companies on the planet," he adds. "I think that they will influence all types of applications, business and consumer."

It's no secret that businesses are already placing a great deal of emphasis on reaching Facebook users, and it will be very interesting to see the impact the new messaging system has on their strategies. I've already speculated that we'll start seeing more businesses utilizing personal profiles to try and get into Facebook users' primary inboxes (as the system filters messages that aren't from "friends" into a secondary inbox).

Social media and email have been getting closer and closer with one another for some time already. "In the past, organizations supported collaboration through e-mail and highly structured applications only," said Monica Basso, research vice president at Gartner, who predicts 20% of employees will use social networks as a main business communication tool by 2014.
"Today, social paradigms are converging with e-mail, instant messaging (IM) and presence, creating new collaboration styles," she said. "However, a truly collaborative, effective and efficient workplace will not arise until organizations make these capabilities widely available and users become more comfortable with them. Technology is only an enabler; culture is a must for success.”"

When asked what Facebook's new system means for the larger trend of social networking and email converging, Matthews told WebProNews, "Consumers want one view for many things but they also want very different views for their personal and business lives. This is why I really think Gmail should be worried."

It is worth noting that our conversation with Matthews took place before Google's announcement, so I'll have to find out if this changes his opinion on that.
