Despite of being the number one online classified ads website in the Philippines, the management decided to change Sulit.com.ph to OLX.ph domain name. The Admin has confirmed it here.

According to them, the change is to get attention of all Filipinos and to inform that now is the time to make some changes of their own and join the millions of people around the globe like in India, Brazil, and Portugal, which have already used OLX to sell their things. Further, they said that the name OLX aims to inspire Filipinos to re-think what they know about Sulit and what they have to sell online. Stated also in their post is that the name OLX originally came as an abbreviation of Phrase “Online Exchange”.

The interface has no change at all instead of the colors of the tabs and headings.

Finally, Blackberry decided to finally relaunch the BBM for Android and iOS.

Promo Mechanics

I. PROMO PERIOD

- The promo runs from 12:00AM of August 28, 2013 to 11:59PM of October 11, 2013.

II. HOW TO JOIN

1. The promo is open to all interested participants (male or female, at least 13 years of age at the time of promo registration, residing within Philippine territory) who have registered to participate in the promo. To qualify, participants should have a valid Twitter and/or Facebook accounts and submit their photo entry/ies within the promo duration. Winning participants below the legal age must have written parental consent in order to claim their prize.
2. Interested participants need to visit the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 #Metime Raffle Promo page (http://www.tab3MEtime.com) to register a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Promo account. Only participants who have valid Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Promo accounts and successfully registered to the promo are allowed to submit photo entries to the promo.

3. Participants will be asked to register to the promo only once. They must register in order to submit their photo entry/ies to the Promo:

a. Complete Name (First Name, Last Name)

b. Birthdate

c. Valid E-mail address

d. Contact Number (Mobile and/or Landline)

e. Complete Mailing Address

f. Password

g. Twitter Account URL/Facebook Account URL

4. Participants are required to register their official Twitter and/or Facebook accounts for automatic posting and sharing of submitted photo entry/ies.

5. Every weekly cut-off period (12:00AM Saturdays to 11:59PM Fridays starting from August 28, 2013 to October 11, 2013 except on the 1st week of the promo where the weekly cut-off will start from August 28 to September 06, 2013), participants may submit his/her photo entry/ies of him/herself enjoying his/her “ME time”. A “ME time” photo may be anything that a person loves to do to indulge oneself or relax. Participants must submit a photo of them enjoying their different “ME time” moments together with a caption describing their “ME time” with the hashtag #MeTime. The caption may be in English, Filipino or Taglish and is composed of not more than 140 characters, including the hashtag.

6. Photo Entries should be in JPEG or PNG format and file size not bigger than 3MB. In case any entry contains corrupted files, the participant will be informed via email to re-send/upload their entry. The re-sent photo entry must be received before the deadline of submission of entries every 11:59PM Fridays starting from September 6 to October 11, 2013; otherwise, the same shall not be considered.

7. After submission of the photo entry with caption, the website/promo administrator shall post-screen entries and disqualify entries that do not conform to rules and regulations of the promo. If submitted entry is approved, the said entry will be automatically posted and shared to the Twitter and/or Facebook accounts registered by the participant to the Promo.

8. Registered or non-registered participants who uses the Promo hashtag #MeTime on his/her Twitter post will be sent an automatic message containing a URL link that will direct them to the Promo website.

Once the participant is on the Promo website, they can register and submit their entry/ies to validate them. Only entry/ies submitted via the Promo website shall be considered a valid entry.

9. Non-registered participants who logged in to the Promo website to submit an entry via their Social Networking Site Account (Twitter/Facebook) are still required to register their complete details to the Promo in order to validate their entry/ies. Failure to register in the promo results to non-validation of entry/ies.

10. Entries without captions are automatically disqualified from the promo. The registered participant warrants that all 3rd party individuals included in his/ her photo submissions are with their consent. If any complaint is issued against a photo, that specific entry is automatically disqualified.

11. Each unique photo entry with the promo hashtag submitted within the cut-off period is equivalent to an entry. Only registered participants shall earn a valid entry by submitting a photo entry with the promo caption within the promo period. There is no limit as to the number of times that a participant may submit photo entries, however, a participant may only win once per raffle draw.

12. All participants who join are presumed to have read and understood, and agree to abide by its complete rules and regulations specified on the Promo website. The registered participant warrants that all 3rd party individuals included in his/ her photo submissions are with their consent. If any complaint is issued against a photo, that specific entry is automatically disqualified.

13. All photo entries received within each weekly cut-off period will be posted on the Gallery page of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 #Metime Raffle Promo website.

III. DETERMINATION OF WINNERS

1. All entries will be screened for content by the website/promo administrator. Samsung Corporation and its agency reserve the right to post-screen entries and delete images that do not conform to rules and regulations of the promo. Outlined below are the screening guidelines for the submitted photo entries:

a. There must be no imagery of competitor logos or products;

b. Entry must not be indecent, obscene, tasteless, derogatory, offensive, inappropriately revealing or suggestive in a sexual or lewd way, as determined in Samsung Corporation’s sole discretion;

c. Photo entry must not depict gory scenes or any activity that can be considered excessively violent;

d. The Photo entry must be creative and originally taken by the registered participant;

e. The registered participant must exclusively hold all rights to the photo entry, including copyright, if applicable.

f. Entry must not have been submitted previously in a promotion of any kind or exhibited or displayed publicly through any means;

g. Entry must not contain material that violates or infringes the rights of others, including, but not limited to, privacy, tort or intellectual property rights, or constitute copyright or trademark infringement;

h. Entry must not contain any trademarks, logos, or brand names (apart from the Samsung Logo);

i. Entry must not contain defamatory, slanderous or libelous materials.

j. Any entry or file submitted must not contain viruses or other harmful components, or otherwise tamper with, impair or damage Sponsor’s websites or any connected network, or otherwise interfere with any person’s or entity’s use or enjoyment of Samsung Corporation’s websites.

2. Determination of winners will be held in the presence of a DTI Representative every Monday starting September 09, 2013 to October 13, 2013 at 5:00pm. Determination of winners will be held at the Hot Air Balloon Digital Group, Inc. Office, Unit 1604 The Centerpoint Condominium, Julia Vargas Ave. corner Garnet St., Ortigas Center, Pasig City.

3. A winner may only win once per weekly cut-off. In the event that a winner created several FB accounts, registered them to the promo and the entry/entries submitted by said multiple accounts were drawn within the same weekly raffle draw, the first drawn entry will be declared as the winning entry and the succeeding entry/ies of the other accounts will be disqualified.

IV. PRIZE:

VI. CLAIMING of PRIZES:

The winner shall shoulder all costs he/she may incur in securing the prize (Bus Fares, Taxi Fares, Gas, Parking, Meals, etc.). Prizes for provincial winners will be sent via courier to the winner’s registered address, free of charge.
2. B. The winner must present the following when claiming his/her prize:
  1. i. Two (2) valid IDs (SSS or GSIS ID, driver’s license, Postal ID, Voter’s ID, Passport, school ID*) with complete real name, photograph and signature AND Original/Certified True Copy and Photocopies of any of these official documents of the winner: birth certificate or marriage contract.
    
    *For school IDs, they must reflect that he/she is enrolled for the current school year, semester or term.
  2. ii. Notice sent via registered mail and electronic mail.
  3. iii. If drawn winner is a minor, an approval letter signed by parent/legal guardian
3. C. In the event that the winner cannot personally claim his/her prize, an authorized representative may claim on his/her behalf, provided that the representative brings the following:
4. D. Qualified winners must claim their prizes within sixty (60) days from receipt of notification. Prizes unclaimed within 60 days from receipt of registered mail are forfeited in favor of Samsung Corporation with prior DTI approval.

VII. TERMS and CONDITIONS:

a. Participants grant Samsung Corporation, its subsidiaries, affiliates and licensees the exclusive, irrevocable, royalty-free, perpetual and worldwide right to publish, reproduce, display, and distribute any of the entries submitted on websites, photo or video exhibitions, tradeshows, or any other media or platform deemed suitable by Samsung Corporation, for the purpose of promoting the Promo. g. Samsung Corporation retains any and all intellectual property and other proprietary rights in and to the Samsung logo, images and all other content available on the Samsung Tab 3 #MEtime Raffle Promo website/Program microsite. Participants may use the Samsung logo and images only in connection with their photo entries and all material owned by Samsung Corporation or their affiliated companies, including but not limited to copyright, trademark, picture, logo, title art or other intellectual property, shall remain the property of Samsung Corporation or their affiliated companies as may be applicable and participants shall acquire no rights therein by virtue of this Promo.

h. Samsung Corporation has the right to display photos that are uploaded by registered users using the hashtag on social media networks connected to their registration. The images may appear on the promo website for display purposes only, images not uploaded via the microsite are still not considered valid entries.

i. Samsung Corporation has the right to disqualify entries that breach the aforementioned rules, especially pertaining to the validity of the participant’s personal information.
j. All images submitted are user-generated and Samsung is not in any way promoting any 3rd party copyright or trademark included therein.

VIII. CONTROL MEASURES

Determination and Verification of Winners
1. a. A DTI Representative shall be invited to check the computer system for receiving registration and storing entries, sending of notification and confirmation messages, generation of entries, verification and testing of all procedures before the promo. A copy in a CD shall be sealed in an envelope signed by the DTI Representative for safekeeping of Hot Air Balloon Digital Group, Inc and for verification of DTI anytime.
  
  b. A list of the properties of the computer program and replies shall be printed and given to the DTI Representative after verification.
  
  c. During the verification, the DTI Representative shall also check the fields in the database/list of participants which shall include the following details: complete name, complete mailing address, contact number, email address, Promo username.
  
  d. All entry/ies of each registered participant will be saved in the Promo’s database.
  
  e. Another DTI Representative will be invited to be present during the actual drawing of winners.
  
  f. A Hot Air Balloon Digital Group, Inc. Representative will generate a list of qualified entries before the start of the raffle draw.
  
  g. All entries will be randomly assigned raffle entry numbers.
  
  h. A copy of all generated entries shall be saved in a CD and shall be sealed in an envelope signed by the DTI Representative for safekeeping of and for verification of DTI anytime.
  
  i. The Representative from Hot Air Balloon Digital Group shall randomly draw an entry from the system that contains all the entries.
  
  j. Winner shall be drawn one at a time, using the raffle numbers assigned at random. To determine the winning number, we will use true number organizer via www.random.org.
  
  k. After the winner is drawn, it will be verified from the generated list by the Representatives from DTI and Hot Air Balloon Digital Group.
  
  l. Three winners will be drawn per weekly raffle draw activity to receive corresponding prizes for the week that they participated in.
  
  m. The complete details of the winners and the corresponding prizes won will be given to the DTI Representative at the end of the raffle draw session.

Android lovers were expecting for the release of BBM for Android OS last September 21, 2013 – that was the official launching date that Blackberry had announced.

No one was expecting that iOS users would be the first who would enjoy the Messaging Platform since it was already announced that BBM for Android would be launched a day earlier that of Android.

Actually, BB had already decided to launched it to Playstore on the promised date but was forced not to because of the fake ones.

Blackberry asked Google Playstore to remove all the Fake BBM’s before they launch the official one.Blackberry was very apologetic to that.

We are expecting that the official BBM will be launched in this week so keep updated.

Will BBM Make It to Top on Android and IOS Platforms?

The public is already informed of the release date of BBM for Android and IOS - that Android users will have the Black Berry Messenger on September 21, 2013 (tomorrow) and that for IOS will be delayed a day longer. Will the Blackberry really be successful on this idea?

If there are two mobile OS battling to top, those must be Androin and iOS. Yes! BB OS is left behind, despite of the release of new BB10.

As Android and iOS eat the market, many messaging platforms were developed. Platforms that we can say, far better than BBM. These are some that are available in Playstore and Appstore: WeChat, Viber, Line, WhatsApp, KakaoTalk, etc.

But why Blackberry pursues of having their very own platform shared to other OS. Are they confident about this? Will the BBM on Android and iOS have different feature/s other than the features on its mother handsets and better than nowadays's famous messaging platforms? We will update you the soonest possible time about this questions after it was launched.

Blackberry Messenger, known as BBM, is the very own Messaging Platform of Blackberry. It has been quite famous since BB has started invading corporate market. Although it was primarily made for enterprise use, Blackberry did not miss to capture the public because of BBM.

But as they say, “The one on top will not remain on top,” BBM started to face challenge when android phones started to penetrate the market. Android opened its OS for other Messaging Platform developers – applications that offer free txt messaging, free call and other fun stuffs.

No, I am not pertaining to the food. What I am emphasizing here is the rumored upcoming version of Android.

Everybody was already expecting of KLP version 5.0 of Android. Most of the techblogs seemed to be certain and sure about their announcement of the new name of the Open-source Google OS. Almost all of them have definite date of its release. But who could have thought that after all the public's expectations and their long wait, there will be a sudden change of Android new version's name - that is Kitkat. Yes! The chocolate brand!

There were also rumors about 'number' of the new version. Most bloggers announced that it would be Version 4.3 and some of them said that it would probably be 5.0. Again, the public wasn't right.

Google has just announced that the Kitkat Android OS will have the version number of 4.4. The release hopefully would be in this month of September 2013. There is no certain key features announced by Google yet.
