The Bowersock Mills and Power Company was established in Lawrence in 1874. Today they provide renewable hydropower to the area. I was thrilled to redesign the old logo and update their website for them. Currently they are constructing a new powerhouse on the north side of the Kansas River to triple their electrical output. I was inspired by the hundred year old technology that they are currently using to generate power to charge my iPad and CFL lightbulbs at home and work. That is genius!

My inspiration was the type of a 1940′s Case tractor my dad had. The graphics were simple, and powerful…but modern. Bowersock has quite a story to tell. Take a tour of their plant, you get a sense of hard-working people taking great care to be good stewards of our natural resources.

KU Lifespan Institute

The challenge of this year’s annual report was to showcase the comprehensive research projects that the KU Lifespan Institute is currently involved in. Their research covers the entire lifespan of the human from conception to death. They are doing some amazing research on autism spectrum disorders, developmenetal disabilities, intellectual disabilities and learning disabilities.

Evan Williams Catering

I’m super excited about this site redesign for Evan Williams Catering. I was able to provide some photography for the Williams House photos alongside John Gladman’s great food shots. The best part of this site, is that we transformed the WordPress blog into a Sample Menus. This site was featured in the Headway Gallery.

Community Foundation Report

This year’s Report the Community featured the theme “Collective Impact.” Many individuals come together to make great things happen such as LiveWell Lawrence or Lawrence Complete Streets. I’m thrilled to have designed and developed both of these websites in addition to this annual piece. As always, I got to art direct the new photography and work with Lawrence photographer, Earl Richardson.

Breathing Under Water

It’s been a while since I’ve updated my site. The past three months have been exceptionally busy with a ton of client work—so I’ve been learning to breathe under water. I’m grateful to have work for such great clients like Lawrence Memorial Hospital, Douglas County Community Foundation and Sport Turf Managers Association. But, again, I’m recommitting to a bi-weekly blog post. If nothing else, to selfishly show off some the latest collaborations with client and my partners businesses. Check back often!

Logo Design for Northwest Kansas Foundation for HOPE. This is a logo I did for a great organization from the area I grew up in. This organization helps people with expenses while they are fighting cancer.
