BOOK BAKE CD & DVD SALE THIS SATURDAY was a great success
thanks to Brandy Gergescz and Emily Serno

A big round of applause goes out to Brandy Gergescz (left) and Emily Serno (right) for all the work they went through to raise funds to help the animals at TLC. Weeks of toting, storing and then setting everything up was a huge undertaking but Emily and Brandy were up to the task. If you ever want to see what over a ton of books look like just ask these 2 ladies! We also wanted to thank everyone who volunteered some time to lend a helping hand at the sale, and to everyone who contributed, books, CD's DVD's & bakery., and those that came out to the sale. (And as for the bakery I told you that our TLC bakers are the best! Brandy and Emily said that the bakery just about flew off the table it was selling so fast.) At the end of the day over $1,500.00 was made! We want to thank everyone ever so much and especailly Brandy and Emily!

South Suburban Chihuahua is sponsoring Mom & Pup Thank you! We would love to see these 2 adopted together. They are very gentle and cute as can be. For the past several years Melissa Yozze has been making beautiful prom garters for the girls to purchase for their prom, and donating all the money they made to TLC, which has amounted to several hundred dollars each year!. The garters are beautiful! Ribbon is used to match the garter to each girls dress. They are $10.00 each. You may request sequins, glitter, boa and/ or feathers to peronalize your garter. Please order early as these are a big hit and oh so pretty! You may text or call Melissa at 630-209-1619 or email her at myoz@sbcglobal.net. All proceeds are donated to the TLC Animal Shelter!

The garters are on sale now through the end of prom season. Please don't wait until the last minute to order!

We want to thank Tracy Lesmeister for the wish list drive she held for TLC from November 21st through January 2nd. Tracy brought in a bounty of supplies that the shelter was in need of, and several hundred dollars she raised. We also want to thank the following businesses for allowing collection boxes in their stores: Animal Clinic at New Lenox, All 4 Paws, Fabian Flooring, Papa Joe's, Pretty Penny Nails, and Tucker's Doggie Delights.

We also want to thank the Animal Clinic at New Lenox for the photos with Santa event they held and the money raised.

When you watch this video remember YOU are a very important part of these efforts to save the lives of so many animals! Beautiful companion animals that have no way out, there wouldn't be any future for them, if we didn't step in to help. YOU are the backbone of these efforts! Without your support we could not do what we are doing to save so many animals here and those coming from remote areas where adoptions are few and far between. YOUR caring and generosity has enabled us to help abandoned, abused, and neglected cats and dogs, receiving the care that they need while awaiting their forever homes. Thank you seems so little to say for all that YOU have done, but I am sure when you watch this video, you will realize how important you are to every animal that has been saved.......

Happy ending for Onyx

I wanted to send you a long overdue note to update the story of Onyx, formerly “No Name 300”. A woman had found him and, after putting up flyers and trying to find his owner, no one claimed him. He was then brought in as a stray.

My husband and I decided to visit the shelter in April 2010. There were several kittens on the website, but when we arrived we found out they all were taken. We figured while we were there we would see who else needed a home.

While looking at all of the cats there, one decided to yank on the leg of my jeans. He was in one of the lower cages and just couldn’t wait to be noticed! We knew we had to see more. We took him to the interaction room and he was so loving. He jumped into my husband’s lap and gave him a little head butt. Then he came over by me and gave rubbed my face. We knew this was the one and took him home that day.

Onyx was a little skiddish the first couple weeks, but he has settled in nicely. He is very playful and enjoys being the "king" of the house.

Attached are a few pictures of Onyx. The first one is when we just brought him home and the next few are of him having fun.

Thank you so much for all you do and taking such terrific care of these animals. Onyx has brought us great joy and is a wonderful addition to our family!!!

TLC Annual WALKATHON June 4th

Join us June 4th because we will be "Walking Our Dogs Off For The Animals"
Why? To benefit homeless animals at T.L.C. Animal Shelter
When? Saturday June 4th
Time? 10:00 am (sign-in 9:45)
Where? Dell Wood Park, Lockport
Take Route 7 to State Street, then go south on State approx. 1 mile to Wood, go east on Wood and watch for our signs.

Preregistration $10.00 a person if made by June 1st, or $15.00 the day of the walk (canine/feline friends free).

We will be holding the shelter's annual 3 mile Walk for the Animals once again in beautiful Dell Wood Park. Dogs and cats are welcome to attend. The walk will be held rain or shine, please dress accordingly. There are plenty of pavilions to offer shelter should it start to sprinkle. Wear comfortable shoes since part of the terrain is hilly.
Silly pet tricks to follow the walk........Steve Peterson will be our DJ with lots of good music
To save you time and effort, pledges should be collected prior to the walk and turned in along with sponsor sheet at the time of the walk. Please have your name, address and phone on each sponsor sheet you turn in. There will be prizes for everyone collecting $100.00 or more in pledge money.

The 4th through 6th grade at Nelson Ridge Middle School in New Lenox donated a bunch of supplies for the shelter.
