Anytime i find something about studying the scriptures i automatically perk up. I love studying the scriptures but am not always consistent at it. I am going to make a better effort this year to do so and record my personal revelation a bit better also.

I love those aha moments and want to record them so they sink deep into my heart.

I recently started to follow this blog, http://dailyclosertochrist.com/
I want to be one of those women who when you look at me, you know i love Christ. When you see me you see him. Oh i have a long way to go. Short temper, smug attitude, German stubbornness, (thanks grandma) and so many more short comings. But i still want to be better, to work on these things and share the love of the gospel with others.
This year i want to read the standard works in a year.
My husband asked me what am i going to give up as my new years resolution.
I have thought about that long and hard.
But i can't come up with anything i want to give up.
The first thing that popped into my head was chocolate. Heck NO! Do you want me to be more stubborn, more short tempered, uhh, No i don't think that is a good idea. :)
But as i kept thinking about things i thought what can i add?
Eat more veggies? Yes!
Eat more fruit? Yes!
Exercise? Yes!
Read my scriptures daily? Yes!
Improve myself? Yes!
These are the things i want to add and in doing so i will give up a little time to do them.
So my answer to him will be time to do all these things.
So really the reason for this post, was just to share the link above and hopefully one of you will want to read the scriptures in a year AND Daily draw closer to Christ.

Cyber Monday

It has been almost a month since i have posted.
Shame on me.
I made Christmas Cards over the Thanksgiving weekend with my daughter Cheli but i can't post a picture because then everyone will know what a cute Christmas card they are getting. ha ha ha.
Love the Holidays, Hate the stress. Trying to focus on all the good things the holidays bring.
Isn't if funny i named the post Cyber Monday and didn't really have anything to say about it. LOL!

Weekend Fun!

Had an awesome weekend with my family. We had a family picture taken which i have been wanting to do for years. Crazy i know. But it finally happened. Now i can't wait to get the pictures back.
Here's my girls with Merrick.

And here is my hubby. He was such a good sport about taking pictures and posing for so many different ones.

And here is Cheli and Akalia dancing or doing some type of exercise. They make me laugh.

And we painted pumpkins. What a mess................................................
But the kids loved it.

Akalia wanted the biggest one she could find. We could hardly get it in the cart.

And Merrick wanted this one. Of course his favorite one was the one he got at school!

And here is his cute little pumpkins. Love those faces.

And here is Akalia's ghost pumpkin. It turned out so good. OH, see that bluish green and brown blob behind the ghost. That is her other pumpkin she painted. Too funny!

We had a fun day. Here is Reena giving Merrick a ride on my new bike.

It was a beautiful fall day. Cold in the morning when we took pictures but nice the rest of the day. Here is one of the places we had our picture taken. Lived here for 25 years and didn't even know this existed. What a beautiful valley i live in.

Conference Weekend

Finishe putting to gether my new Conference journal.
80cent notepad from Staples.
A few scrap pieces of paper and a used flower from a friend that i just could not throw away, cuz i loved it so much.
A new .05 micron blue pen.
I am ready to go.

Don't know why this picture uploaded sideways, crazy, but there is a little pocket for tabs or what not.

I made a table of contents so when i want to go back and look for something or someone in particular it will be easy to find.

I numbered the pages, well not all of them yet, i will number them as i go.

I found this great talk on http://www.theredheadedhostess.com/. It is so good and a must read before conference. I stapled it to the back and folded it to fit and ...

AND-------> We can't forget one of the most important things. A nice new Micron pen. Love these and they are so good to use on your scriptures too because they don't bleed through the pages.

Random Pictures of Fun

It has been ages since i have posted anything so today i thought i would just post some random pictures of fun things.
First my garden goodies. I thought my garden would be destroyed by the snow and Hail, but alas, it survived and here is the abundance to prove it. We have been enjoying many yummy things from the garden and sharing a lot too.

Also, While Akalia and Merrick were here for a week they had fun dressing up and just playing at Grandmas, i quite enjoyed the smile they brought to my face as well as to my heart.

So adorable. Now i need to find that one of Akalia i really liked where we had her hair in curlers and the morning after's effect. So sweet!

So Beautiful and she loved it.

I have been absent way too long. Summer has been busy. Filled with fun, family, gardening and lawn care. I have the cutest picture of my hubby to share if i can get it downloaded. I love him. He is such a doll and makes me so happy.

Next week my daughter comes to visit for a week and we are going to clean up and clean out and then have a yard sale. Should be interesting. She thinks i am a hoarder. Hardly. I don't even have a couch in my living room. Just 2 chairs and a tv. How can that be hoarding. I'm looking forward to this clean up and clean out.

He makes me smile. He is so adorable.

My New Craze

So lately, all i have been doing is making jewelry. Crazy i know! But here are a few pics.

I made this one for my granddaughters friend who came and stayed with us this weekend because they had a swim meet.

This one is for my grand daughter. She loves green.

My daughter stole these. She loved them the minute she saw them.

So amazon is selling these bracelets for $50.00 because they have leather, Brother! I made my own and will sell them for $15 or $20 depending on the beads.

I have tons more but i will post more at another time so this blog doesn't get too bogged down. LOL!

I swore i would never do this. Get another hobby where i go crazy. I fought it and fought it but to no avail.
It's all the scrapper worlds fault. It all started with wanting just a little charm on a card. Then more and more until, well look for yourself.

My first pairs of earrings. I must say it was fun to make.

Tuesday Trigger: A Burst of Blooms

My attempt at Trigger Tuesday.
This was a fun card to make. I made my own stamp out of foam for the chair.
I used my cricut to cut the watering can.
I used Spellbinders Shapeabilities Floral Bouquet for the yellow flower and then the little ones by it are a stampin up punch. The flowers on the can were tissue paper scrunched and glued.
I used an embossing folder to make the texture on the background and then rubbed cream ink and red ink on it for a different effect.
Just Relax, this was fun to make.
It's not as clever as all the others i have seen but it was fun.
Did i tell you already, It was fun :)

A Couple of Sew Easy Cards

Notice the zig zag stitching on the side of the card by the pink ribbon. I made the holes with the "Sew Easy" from Making Memories, then i hand stitched it. Love that tool. This cat and flower at the top are from the Expo. Too cute! The little flower at the bottom and the warm wishes is a die and stamp set from paper trey Ink. Love them!

Here i die cut the house, butterfly, and tag and thank you stamp are from Papertrey Ink. The flower in the middle is a die from Spellbinders. Oh and notice the zig zag again. I used my new favorite tool. The Sew Easy.

Now this little bird was trying to fly away when i was taking the picture. So blurry, but he is cute anyway. He is a new stamp i got at the Scrapbook Expo. The flower up top is a Spellbinders die.
I print out the Happy Bird-Day off my computer.
Well i am off to make some more cards. Happy Shopping/Crafting/Reading or just whatever you are up to today.

Crocheted Flowers

Been making some crocheted flowers and butterflies. Its hard to see the butterflies but they are in the middle (pink). I am going to the scrapbook expo and my friends want to learn to make these so i am taking some for them to look at. Maybe i will sale a few while i am there. :)
Can't wait for the expo. So much fun with the girls. Getting ready is fun too. Trying to decide what to take and what to do and of course what to buy.
I always like the statement, "My husband lets me buy as much as i can hide" LOL! i love that. Even though he doesn't really care, cuz he has his fishing......................

Tuesday Trigger: Button, Button

I was inspired by the ribbon on Tuesday Trigger and wanted to try something similar. I also liked all the buttons and have been wanting to do something with this button paper, so i used the red button paper in the background and then cut out the buttons from the cream. Glued a big button right in the middle with coordinating ribbon. You can't tell very well in this picture but the little flowers by bes and friend are painted white to match the white buttons on the red paper.

The other for my grand daughter who is getting married on the 5th.
And then i decided to add this adorable picture of my husband kissing his new little GREAT grand daughter.

Getting back to normal

I have been counting my blessings these last 2 weeks. So many things have happened. But just to keep it short and sweet. I am on the mend and feeling oh so much better.
One of the greatest words i heard was there is no cancer.
What a huge blessing.
I want to thank all my wonderful friends who have left comments and to those who have helped me through these long days. It's not over yet but soon i will be back to normal whatever normal is. :)
I even feel like making something crafty today so that must mean something right.
I will post a picture soon.
Thanks again for all your prayers and sweet words of encouragement.

One of the provisions of receiving this award is that I must list 3 things about myself that make me unique.
1. I love everyone. I really mean that. I try to find the good in everyone and not look at what is wrong or their appearance or their weakness's or downfalls.
2. I love to write poetry. Not that i'm really any good at it. But i did get a poem published.
3. I find it hard to write about myself and look for my good qualities. This is a good test for me.

A very difficult week

It has been a very difficult week. After surgery i felt pretty good. Must have been those happy juices they were giving me at the hospital. The Dr. had a nice surprise when he opened me up. Tons of scar tissue from a tubular ligation over 20 years earlier. The scar tissue was so bad it had attached to the bowl and everything else he was to work on. At this point i would just like to say THANK HEAVENS for a wonderful Dr. He was actually delighted in the surprise and carefully removed all scar tissue which took over an hour and then proceeded to the complete Hysterectomy. He said other than the surgery taking longer than he had expected that everything went fine and that he could not see any cancer. However he needed to send in the tissue for tests. He came in the next day and gave me the good news. Boy was i relieved. I came home and started on my long journey of pain and healing. I did not think it would get so bad at times. At other times, like now i feel pretty good. I just hope the good times start getting longer and longer. It is so hard to take all the medications that have been prescribed and not get sick from them. ONE DAY AT A TIME! right.
I have had some wonderful friends and family that have taken care of me and brought in meals and just helped comfort and encourage. I love them dearly but most of all i love my dear husband who sits by my side through all the difficult times that no one else sees. He is truly an angel sent from Heaven and i thank my Heavenly Father for him daily.
On to recovery and the blessings i have been given.
