These were the hottest golf clubs in demand during the month of March. Do you know which one is the hottest?

1. Titleist 907D1 Driver
2. TaylorMade Burner 460 Driver
3. Ping Eye 2 Iron set
4. TaylorMade R9 Driver
5. Ping G10 Driver
6. Nike SQ Sumo 5000 Driver
7. Titleist 909D3 Driver

I know it's been a while since I posted the top 10 golf clubs, but I'm doing it now :). Since my last Top 10 post, there has been a lot of changes. Previously TaylorMade had 5 of the top 10 spots and Ping had 4 with Callaway with one.

Now TaylorMade, Titleist and Ping have only 2 spots each in the top 10. Believe it or not the Ping Eye 2 iron set is still in the top 10 at number 3. I'd have to say Titleist takes top honors this month with TaylorMade taking a big hit from five top 10 down to only 2.

Just in case you missed it, here's my post of The 10 Hottest Golf Clubs Sept 2009, which is how the top 10 clubs finished for the month of September 2009.

Tag(s): golf, golf reviews, TaylorMade Driver, golf equipment, Titleist Driver, Ping Eye 2

Top 10 Hottest Golf Clubs Sept 2009

Here are the Top 10 Hottest Golf Clubs for the month of Sept 2009. TaylorMade r7 460 Driver

There weren't many changes in the Top 10 hottest golf clubs since August. The same top 10 golf clubs are in this months report as they were in last months. The Callaway Golf X-20 Iron Set is still in the number spot over the Ping Eye 2 iron set, which was in the #1 spot for 2 years.

Only a couple golf clubs moved positions and it was only up or down a spot... So nothing too exciting to report this month. Hopefully we'll see some new clubs in the Top 10 next month. TaylorMade still has 5 of the top 10 golf clubs, which is pretty amazing.

Just in case you missed it, here's my post of The Hottest Golf Clubs Aug 2009, which is how the top 10 clubs finished for the month of August 2009.

Tag(s): golf, golf reviews, Callaway X-20 Iron Set, golf equipment, Callaway, Ping Eye 2

Top 10 Hottest Golf Clubs Aug 2009

Here are the Top 10 Hottest Golf Clubs for the month of Aug 2009. The first time in over 2 years the Ping Eye 2 iron set has lost it's #1 spot. The flat-stick is what brought Tiger to his knees on Sunday when he shot a 3-over 75 with 33 putts. I believe he had 11 putts around the 10-foot range and he only made 1 of them.

You have to give a lot of credit to Y.E. Yang though. He held his own and played with a lot of confidence while matched up against Tiger in the final round on Sunday. The turning point was on 13 and 14 when Tiger missed and 8-footer for birdie and Y.E. made about an 8-footer for par. On 14 Y.E. chipped in from about 60 feet for an eagle and Tiger could only make birdie.

On 18, Tiger new he had to make birdie to have any chance of a sudden death with Y.E. Y.E. hit his approach shot first from 206 yards with a 3-hybrid and it was a career shot that ended up 8 feet from the hole. Tiger hit his approach into the left rough with his chip missing by 10-feet. Y.E. made his put for birdie and Tiger missed his putt for par... and Y.E. was the 2009 PGA Champion shooting a 2-under 70 and finishing up at 8-under, which was 3 ahead of 2nd place Tiger.

I think this loss is going to motivate Tiger even more and the players on the PGA tour better take the game to the next level... or they'll be playing for 2nd place every weekend.
Tag(s): golf, golf reviews, PGA Championship, golf products, Y.E. Padraig Harrington had a 3-shot lead going into Sunday, but Tiger erased that lead by the 4th hole with an eagle and birdie.

The match was very tight until they came to the par 5 667-yard 16th hole where both Tiger and Padraig were put on the clock. Harrington had a 1-shot lead, but missed his drive to the right and hit a poor punch shot that left him with a difficult 3rd shot into the green. Tiger missed the fairway to the left and had to punch out. Tiger hit his approach shot with an 8-iron 182 yards to within a foot. Padraig hit his approach shot over the green, which left him with a very difficult downhill flop shot out of some deep rough. Harrington feeling a bit hurried because of being on the clock hit his flop into the water and ended up carding a triple-bogey 8. Tiger carded a birdie 4 and took a 3-shot lead and the tournament was over.

On 18, Tiger made a comment to Padriag saying that he was sorry that the PGA official put them on the clock. Tigers' comment stirred up some controversy about the PGA officials ruling on 16. With Tiger and Padraig being the last group on the course and battling it out... should they have been put on the clock? A lot of people say no because it affected the outcome of the tournament.
Tag(s): golf, golf reviews, WGC Bridgestone Invitational, golf products, Tiger Woods

Top 10 Hottest Golf Clubs Mar 2009

Here are the Top 10 Hottest Golf Clubs for the month of Mar 2009. I know it's a shocker. The Ping Eye 2 has been the #1 most sought after club for over 2 years and running. The Titleist Vokey Spin Milled Wedge has held the #2 spot for a few months now. I have both the 56 and 60 degree Vokey Spin Milled wedges and they're a great wedge.

There's actually a tie for the hottest golf club of the month. Well they came in and I've played 3 rounds with them and all I can say is WOW!

These are by far the best looking irons I've ever hit. They just look solid and they set up beautifully. I first hit them on the range and found myself hitting them about 5-10 yards farther than my Cleveland Reds. The off-center hits were pretty straight and long as well.

My first round I shot 78 and I have to say I was still trying to get use to the difference in length. I couldn't really complain because the ball comes off the face like butter. I struck the ball very well all day, but I was long a few too many times.

In my second round I shot another 78. The front nine I still felt like I was adjusting to the Tour Preferred irons, but on the back nine things started to click. I started to dial the irons in and hit 7 out of 9 greens and shot 36. I was feeling pretty good and couldn't wait to play with them again.

My third round was absolutely awesome. Except for 1 triple-bogey (OB), I played flawless on the front nine shoting 39, but it was on the back nine that I really started to jell with these Tour Preferred's. I hit 8 of 9 greens and shot 33 with 3 birdies and 6 pars for a even par 72.

If you haven't tried hitting these I definitely suggest you go to your local golf shop and hit them... and if you're on the fence about buying them all I can say is what are you waiting for?

Taylormade Tour Preferred Irons

I just ordered a set of custom Taylormade Tour Preferred Irons from Golfsmith. It was between the Tour Preferred and the Callaway X Forged. I liked both sets, but the Tour Preferred were much more forgiving on miss hits. I purposely tried to hit a few shots towards the the toe and heel and the shots with the Tour Preferred were more tightly dispersed and they only had a minor reduction in distance compared to the X Forged.

Can't wait to play a few rounds with them. He put his tee shot into the water and walked away with a double-bogey and only a 3-shot lead, but by then everyone else had faded and his 3-over 75 gave him a 3-shot victory. Tiger showed his golf mortality on the back nine by missing about 4 putts in the 6 to 8 foot range and added a 3-putt, but he still managed to shoot a par 72 and take second place. Brandt Snedeker played his heart out, but finished with a 5-over 77 and 3rd place. Steve Flesch faded on the back nine and shot a 79. Immelman took home $1,350,000 for the win.

Immelman was the man to beat from Day 1. He became the first champion in 24 years to win after being the first-round co-leader.

Tag(s): golf, golf reviews, The Masters, golf products, Trevor Immelman

What's In Johnson Wagner's Golf Bag - 2008 Shell Houston Open

Johnson Wagner won his 1st career PGA tour event last weekend by winning the 2008 Shell Houston Open at Redstone Golf Club in Houston, Texas. He's now chasing Jack Nicklaus with 73 wins and then Sam Snead with 82 wins.

Tiger started off the tournament with some control problems, but managed to get things back on track on Friday with a 2-under 68 in very windy conditions. He shot a 66 on Saturday to put him in a 5-way tie for first and in the last group with Sean O'Hair, who had won the PODS Championship the week before. O'Hair got into the last group by shooting a 7-under 63.

Tiger looked solid all day Sunday except for a 3-putt from 5 feet. Going into 18 Tiger was tied with Bart Bryant at 9-under. Woods hit his 3-wood down the left side of the fairway to open up his approach shot to the green. His approach shot from 167 yards landed pin high about 24 feet left of the pin. He had a downhill left to right putt to negotiate a tie or a win. Long story short Tiger drained the 24-footer for his 6th consecutive win and he left everyone in sheer disbelief that he did it again.

Tiger took home $1,044,000 for the win and added 25,000 points to his first place point total in the race for the FedEx Cup. O'Hair had a little help thanks to Stewart Sink's meltdown on the final 4 holes. Stewart played the final 4 holes in 4 over pair and basically handed the tournament to O'Hair on a silver platter. O'Hair finished his round strong with a birdie and two good pars. Sink finished in a 6-way tie for 2nd place. Sean took home $954,000 for the win and a great start for the 2008 season. The win also gave him 2,500 points towards the FedEx Cup.

Tag(s): golf, golf reviews, golf equipment, golf products, K.J. Ping G5 Driver

How can The Ping Eye 2 iron set continue to stay on top? I continue to say this, but these golf clubs must be something else for them to remain in the number spot for so long. I've received additional comments from golfers and they swear by the Ping brand. If you play Ping irons I'd like to hear from you.

The hottest golf club for this month is the Titleist Vokey Spin Milled Wedge, which made it's debut in the top 10 coming in at #9. The TaylorMade r7 460 Driver dropped off the top 10 list this month, but Taylormade still has 3 golf products in the top 10 as does Ping.

Just in case you missed it, here's my post of The Hottest Golf Clubs Jan 2008, which is how the top 10 clubs finished for the month of Jan 2008.

Tag(s): golf, golf reviews, Titleist Vokey, golf equipment, Callaway, Ping Eye 2

Top 10 Hottest Golf Clubs Jan 2008

Here are the Top 10 Hottest Golf Clubs for the month of Jan 2008. It seems like Ping has controlled the number 1 spot forever, but I think TaylorMade might change that this year.

1. Ping Eye 2 Iron set
2. Callaway Golf X-20 Iron Set
3. TaylorMade r7 460 Driver

And again The Ping Eye 2 iron set comes out on top in the #1 spot. I know I've said this several times last year, but I can't believe how popular these irons are. Several of you have commented on your experience playing with the Ping Eye 2's, but I'd like to hear from more of you.

The hottest golf club for this month is the Ping G5 Iron set, which went from #8 to #4. Taylormade has 4 golf products in the top 10 and starting show some dominance with their product line.

Just in case you missed it, here's my post of The Hottest Golf Clubs Of Nov 2007, which is how the top 10 clubs finished for the month of Nov 2007.

Tag(s): golf, golf reviews, golf equipment, golf equipment, Callaway, Ping Eye 2

<category scheme="http://www.blogger.com/atom/ns#" term="K.J. Choi won his 7th PGA tour event last weekend by winning the 2008 Sony Open at East Waialae Country Club Honolulu, Hawaii. Do you want to know what K.J. was carrying in his golf bag during the win?

Driver: Nike SQ SUMO 5000 with Mitsubishi Bassara shaft
3 Wood: TaylorMade Burner TP 13°
Hybrid: Nike T 100 17°
Irons: (3,4) Nike Ignite
Irons: (5-PW) Nike Blades
SW: Nike Pro Combo 54°
LW: Nike SV 60°
Putter: Odyssey Tri-Hot 2 with SuperStroke Putter Grip
Ball: Nike ONE Platinum Power Transfer Layer

Choi shot a final round of 1-over 71, which was the first time in 41 years that someone has shot a final round over par to win the tournament. K.J. went wire-to-wire with his win, but it wasn't easy because Rory Sabbatini made a run Sunday. Under the extremely windy conditions Rory managed to get 6 birdies, but also had a double-bogey. He 3-putted the par 5 18th from 65 feet, which was for eagle and it would have put him in a tie. K.J. finished at 14-under, which was 3 shots ahead of Sabbatini. Choi took home $954,000 for the win and a great start for the 2008 season.

Tag(s): golf, golf reviews, golf equipment, golf products, K.J. I've used them a few times and I have to say I'm impressed. I've been using Cleveland irons for 6 years with my last set being the TA2's, which were hard to part with.

At first I wasn't sure about the red insert in the cavity back of the iron, but once you're at address you don't even and see it. The club is very attractive looking at set up and it has nice top line.

The CG Red's are a very solid golf club. They do well with off center hits and they're pretty accurate too. I hit probably hit the CG Red's a couple yards longer than my TA2's, but that wasn't the reason I asked for them for Christmas. These irons are just as workable as the TA2's so I'm looking forward to getting a few more rounds under my belt.

I've always liked Cleveland's irons and I felt the CG Red's were the next step to take because 6 years of technology these days in the golf club industry can make a couple of strokes difference in your game. So I had to hang up my TA2's and put the CG Red's in my bag. I had them shafted with Stiff True Temper Dynamic Gold with Sensicore shafts, which are what I had in my TA2's. I almost went with the Black Gold shafts, and even though I read some nice reviews about these shafts I decided to stick with what has been working.

I did look into the Project X shafts, but I read a lot of mixed reviews on them from other golfers so I didn't want to take the chance.

If you're on the fence about the CG Red's then I hope this helped you in your decision.

Top 10 Hottest Golf Clubs Nov 2007

Here are the Top 10 Hottest Golf Clubs for the month of Nov 2007.
