The Beatles - Penny Lane

2023-10-13T22:00:00.013-04:00

Do you have a favorite Beatle Song? I think that it's kind of hard to choose since all of their songs are the best! But if I had to choose one it would be "Penny Lane." When I listen to Penny Lane I can almost put myself right there in London as I am witnessing everything that is happening on Penny Lane. It lets me time travel back to a simpler place in time to a country where I have never been but have always wanted to visit. I want to be standing on Penny Lane, just watching the day unfold, and be a part of all that is happening.

What is your favorite Beatle song? What about the very first album? "Meet the Beatles." Those are the songs we screamed to when we were watching the Beatles on The Ed Sullivan Show. My father would come downstairs and try to get my sister and brother and I to quiet down but that wasn't happening. My only negative with The Ed Sullivan Show was that I knew the next day was school and school and I did not mix well. One day I will blog about the reasons I had a difficult time in school.

Did you wear the big button pins that said "I Love Paul", "I Love John", etc.? I had them displayed all over my shirt! My brother had a Beatle wig. We thought the Beatle's hair was so long but looking back it wasn't that long. What memories do you have of the Beatles?

We are living through such a sad time right now. John Lennon's "Imagine" really hits you in the gut!

Dating in your "Golden Years"

2023-10-03T00:53:00.011-04:00

Time flies, to say the least! I'm going to be 70 on my next birthday. I'm so grateful, but how the heck did that happen? I lost my Mom when she had just turned 64. She was so young and beautiful. I am blessed to be here but turning 70! Crazy!

I've been divorced for many years. My ex-husband and I got divorced when our daughter was in second grade. Our marriage was my ex-husband's second marriage. When we met he had a three year old daughter. So when I gave birth to my daughter she was blessed to have a sister seven years older than her. This complicated our divorce. It was heartbreaking to separate these sisters. But we could not stay married. In the long run it would have hurt my daughter and step-daughter to witness an unhappy marriage.

Now to present day. I have been dating a wonderful man for seven years. He is turning 76 in November. His wife passed away about 18 years ago. We met on a dating site. Before I started dating my boyfriend I had had a seventeen year relationship. I loved my former boyfriend very much but we had family issues that kept us from ever getting married and making a life together. Towards the end of our relationship we were still so close, like best friends. I still had strong feelings for him but so much got in the way of us having a future together. I started dating and met my present boyfriend. A few months into our relationship I was devastated. My ex-boyfriend passed away suddenly. I couldn't believe what had happened nor could I handle it. It was destroying me in so many ways. I could barely function. My every waking moment was consumed with thoughts of him and what had happened and possibly what could have been if we did try somehow to make our relationship work. My former boyfriend's passing really put a strain on my relationship with my present boyfriend. It was very tough for quite a while. Thanks to an amazing therapist I learned to live with the grief from this loss and was able to continue my relationship with my boyfriend.

The older we get I guess the more baggage we have. I once heard someone say that "you met a good man when he helps you unpack!" I recently was speaking to a divorced woman who is 50 years old. She said to me that she never wants to get married again. She would like to meet someone who she can date but not live with. Then I was speaking with a woman in her late sixties. She said why would a man want a woman who is 67 when he could date someone in her fifties. Chemistry is still Chemistry. When two people meet there is either a connection or not. I really don't think your age is a major factor. And maybe that man in his late sixties or seventies is looking for someone closer to his age because it just feels right! There are times when I enjoy my alone time and don't feel the need to have a mate. But there are more times that I do feel the need and desire to have a partner. I know we all have different wants and needs and the answer to dating in our golden years is not the same for everyone.

I watched The Golden Bachelor the other night. I was loving every minute of it. Gerry the bachelor is so genuinely kind and just real! The show was so inspiring! The women are between the ages of 60-75. They were alive! They had spunk! And they wanted a chance at love again! They looked great, and yes they looked their age, and they shined. I'm sure some of them had a little help with cosmetic procedures but more power to them. You go girls! And Gerry thought that the women were beautiful. He didn't seem to be looking for a 50 year old. I can't wait to watch the whole season.

I realize that there are different reasons why women want to date. What are your reasons? Or are you content being on your own? No judging! We are all individuals with our own wants and needs!

It's Complicated!

Angelina Gelateria in Koreatown

2023-09-29T14:30:00.000-04:00

When I was in Koreatown a couple of weeks ago I walked into Angelina. There before me were the most beautiful mounds of gelato in the prettiest colors. The gelato looked so amazing that I wanted to taste every flavor! Angelina offers an array of Italian and Korean flavors! The people behind the counter couldn't have been nicer. Such a happy place! Yum!

I will have to go back many times to try every flavor!

The nicest people!

How pretty is this?

I since have learned that this is not the only location that Angelina has. Angelina has a bakery in Hell's Kitchen and a flagship location in Times Square and a newly opened location in Brooklyn. The Times Square location is also a restaurant. The menu for the restaurant as well as the bakery is filled with delectable delights.

What is Your Color Season?

2023-09-29T14:00:00.003-04:00

By Michele I.

Everyone has a color season that matches their features. Spring, Winter, Summer or Autumn. What do I mean by features? Skin tone, hair color, eye color, etc. Ever notice how certain colors flatter you more? This is because of your personal color story.

Below is a video explaining the differences between the seasons:

Summer:

People with "Summer" coloring are usually natural blondes, although extremely pale-skinned brunettes with pale blue eyes are also sometimes considered Summers. Usually a Summer's skin tone is very fair; either porcelain white, or pale with pink cheeks. Let's start with your True Summer neutrals. As a True Summer, you look great in dark grey, dark green, soft white (such as seashell), light blue grey and darker blue colors. (For Summer makeup click here)

Spring:

Springs are warm-toned, meaning gold jewelry looks better on them than platinum or silver. Their eyes are light to medium in darkness and are usually shades like clear blue, bright green, hazel, or light grey. Springs have a sort of golden aura to them. True Spring's best colors are usually warm greens, yellows, orangey reds, very peachy pinks and every shade of light brown from tan to palest beige. (For Spring makeup click here)

Winter:

The winter color season skin tones are cool, like fair, light, medium, tan, dark, and deep. Winters will usually have a much higher level of contrast between their features than the other color seasons. Many people of color fall into the winter color season. A True Winter color palette is full of cool based jewel-tones like ruby red, sapphire blue, and emerald green. Winter types also get such classic neutrals – they look beautiful in black, crisp white, and navy to name a few. A true Winter palette is full of colors that lean crisp, cool, and highly saturated. (For winter makeup click here)

Fall/Autumn:

True Autumn's primary aspect is warm. Thus, the color palette sits at the warmest end of the hue scale. This means the colors contain yellow undertones but no blue undertones at all. Consequently, you will find very few shades of blue (which is the coolest color of all). If you're an autumn type, you'll find your muted yet rich coloring means you look better in dark, earthy colors, like mustard, olive green and burgundy. (For Autumn makeup click here)

What color season are you? Tell me in the comments!

Hobbies

2023-09-28T09:53:00.004-04:00

There are so many different hobbies that are available to us. I think hobbies are important as they offer avenues for personal growth, relaxation, and fulfillment. I feel like a hobby should be a place to go when you feel stressed and just need to get involved with something that you are passionate about. "Me time" for women is crucial for self-care and mental well-being. It's a dedicated period when a woman prioritizes her needs, allowing for relaxation, reflection, and rejuvenation. "Me time" empowers women to recharge, regain balance, and nurture their sense of identity. Embracing this practice can lead to increased confidence, improved mental health, and a more fulfilling life overall. I don't think that I ever realized how many hobbies are available to us! Hobbies for women encompass a wide spectrum of interests and activities, reflecting individual preferences and passions.

Some hobbies that are possibilities.....

1. Reading

2. Exercise

3. Painting

4. Photography

5. Dance

6. Journaling

7. Crafting/jewelry making

8. planting/flower arranging

9. Walking

10. Blogging

11. Playing a musical instrument

There are so many more hobbies to choose from! Do any of these interest you? Would you want to start a hobby? My favorite is blogging. I have to say it almost becomes addicting, but it is something that makes me happy to do!

What do you think about hobbies? Do you have one? If you do, what is your hobby?

The Iconic Beverly Hills Hotel

2023-09-26T10:48:00.006-04:00

I was born in San Pedro, California. My Dad was in the Army and that is where he was stationed. It was 1954. I lived there for a year. My parents loved California but moved back to New York after the Army. We almost moved back to California, but my Dad would have had to move his business and four school age children. So we stayed in New York. My parents showed me photos and home movies of California. I always had a love and longing for California. I guess because I was born there. I finally got to visit on my honeymoon with my ex-husband 38 years ago. We stayed at the Beverly Wilshire hotel which was so beautiful. I remember walking on Rodeo Drive and I couldn't believe that I was visiting the place where I was born.

It was 38 years after my honeymoon that I got to go back to California. I was fortunate to be able to go with my boyfriend. When the plane landed and I saw the sign "Welcome to Los Angeles" I couldn't be more excited. One of the places that we visited was the Iconic Beverly Hills Hotel. We had lunch by the pool and walked around the grounds. It is a beautiful hotel with so much Hollywood history. On the walls there were photos of the story of the hotel. So interesting! I took pics of the photos and would love to share them with you. I hope that you enjoy reading them!

These are the pics that tell the history of the hotel

I can only enlarge the photos I took when I view them on my phone. If you can't enlarge them I am posting this link that tells the entire history of this iconic hotel.

We walked around the grounds of the bungalows. It was

so beautiful. We felt like we were in a forest of lush greenery. So many

celebrities had their favorite bungalows that they stayed in.

You could feel the glamour of Old Hollywood. If these walls could talk!

Non-dating!

2023-09-21T13:00:00.019-04:00

I had the best time yesterday! I went on a non-date! I went out for lunch and a walk with a man that I am not dating. We are just friends. I do like him and maybe I would rather be on a regular date with him but that is just not going to happen any time soon! So non-dating it is!
Well, there is a lot to be said for non-dating. You don't have to get obsessive with your hair and make-up. It doesn't really matter what you wear. You can go on a last minute date without showering! You are not being judged, approved or disapproved! It's not a real date!
We went for a really nice walk. I could basically talk about anything I wanted to because I didn't have to impress this man. So I showed him the prettiest house that we were passing and told him that I would love to live in that particular house. But, then I changed my mind when I saw a smaller, cozier one with a fenced in yard for my dog! I asked him if he could please buy the house for me. I could ask him anything. We are non-dating!
Then we went for lunch. He treated.....the gentlemanly thing to do. I sort of offered but kind of knew that he would treat. If he let me pay I would have been upset on this non-date. We went for Chinese food. It was so good! And he said "this is a non-date so you can drink your soup from the bowl" (plastic take-out bowl). Well I did and I felt so comfortable eating with him because whether he likes me or not, it doesn't matter. We are non-dating!
I think I know most of the dating rules but I am still trying to figure out the rules of non-dating. Does one kiss after a certain number of non-dates? Does that make it a date? Well, I guess only time will tell and a few more non-dates! We did hug good-bye and I did ask him to take me to the Bahamas for a non-date vacation! I can ask for anything! He will probably say no but who knows.......one day he might say "Yes!"

Did you ever go on a non-date?

p.s. for all of you non-daters out there here is a song of inspiration for you........

I wrote this little post in 2014.

Who Inspires You?

2023-09-20T11:01:00.005-04:00

I find inspiration in the resilience and creativity of everyday people. It's the stories of individuals overcoming challenges, whether personal or societal, that truly resonate with me. Their unwavering determination to pursue their passions and make a positive impact on the world fuels my own drive.

Authors like Maya Angelou, who transformed her painful experiences into powerful words that touch hearts, inspire me to use my abilities for good. Scientists like Marie Curie, who broke barriers in a male dominated field, remind me of the importance of pushing boundaries.

Maya Angelou

Marie Curie

I'm also inspired by activists like Malala Yousafzai, who fearlessly advocates for girls' education in the face of adversity. Their courage and dedication to a greater cause instill in me a sense of responsibility to contribute positively to society.

Malala Yousafzai

Artists like Vincent van Gogh, who found beauty in the world despite personal struggles, inspire me to seek meaning and creativity in every aspect of life. Their legacies serve as a reminder that even amidst hardship, one can leave a lasting. meaningful impact.

Vincent Van Gogh

Since I can remember, throughout all my school years, I have always been mesmerized by one woman. Harriet Tubman. She has been my idol and inspiration. Her story has always fascinated me. Harriet Tubman, born into slavery, became a fearless abolitionist and conductor on the Underground Railroad, guiding hundreds to freedom. Her unwavering bravery and deep compassion for humanity left an indelible mark on American history. Tubman's legacy continues to inspire the fight for justice and equality.

Harriet Tubman

In essence, it's the indomitable spirit of individuals who refuse to be defined by their circumstances that drives me to strive for my own potential and make a positive mark on the world.

Do you have a favorite person who inspires you? Does that person give you that extra boost when you need it?

KoreaTown

2023-09-18T17:03:00.006-04:00

I've lived in New York practically my entire life and I have never been to Koreatown until last week. Suddenly I was immersed in another culture and I loved it. Koreatown, also known as K-Town, is a vibrant cultural enclave nestled within the heart of Manhattan. This dynamic neighborhood, centered around 32nd Street between Fifth Avenue and Broadway, is a microcosm of Korean culture in the midst of the bustling metropolis.

The streets of Koreatown are adorned with colorful signage in Hangul, the Korean script, inviting visitors into a world of authentic cuisine, Karaoke joints, and specialty markets. Restaurants offer a diverse array of traditional dishes like bibimbap, bulgogi, and mouthwatering Korean barbecue. Every dish is a work of art.

At night Neon Lights illuminate the streets, creating a lively ambiance. Visitors can partake in lively karaoke sessions, soak in traditional spas, or explore unique boutiques showcasing K-pop merchandise and fashion.

Photo via Wikipedia

Koreatown is a cultural bridge, where locals and tourists alike converge to experience the warmth and hospitality of Korean tradition. It's a testament to the global impact of Korean culture and a testament to the rich diversity that defines the tapestry of New York City.

I was with my friend Dr. Doug Segan who is very savvy when it comes to visiting different venues everywhere especially in N.Y.C. We ate lunch at an amazing food court called Food Gallery 32.

Delectable Desserts

In Food Gallery 32, we ate lunch at Noona Noodles. Every dish we saw coming out looked so sumptuous.

The warmest, sweetest people at Noona Noodles.

We also had these delicious gyoza.

I had Yaki Udon noodles. The presentation of everything was beautiful! It was so yummy. I must go back and have it again,

but definitely will try other dishes.

And the food came out hot not warm! Really a treat!!

If you are ever in that vicinity, try and visit Koreatown. It is very special!

Do you like the Sparkle?

2023-09-15T22:29:00.010-04:00

Glitzy and sparkly shoes certainly ignite an enchanting allure.

Whether the shoes are adorned in sequins, crystals, or metallic finishes, they make a statement.

Dazzling footwear really does amp up any outfit, transforming casual into opulent! Whether in heels, flats, sneakers, or boots, glitzy shoes add a touch of magic! A burst of festivity at your feet!

All of these shoes, boots, and sneakers can be found at Macy's Herald Square. Such an iconic store!

(I remember as a young girl going to Macy's with my dear grandmother. When I was in Macy's yesterday and saw the original wooden escalator it brought back so many memories. I thought about going to the Automat with my Nanny after Macy's. I was mesmerized by how you got your sandwich and dessert from behind a little glass door! As the article states it was somehow very futuristic!)

I really like these boots! I think I'm a sparkle girl.

Rejuvenate Your Skin: The Remarkable Benefits of Dry Brushing

2023-09-14T19:39:00.002-04:00

Dry brushing, a centuries-old self-care practice, has gained popularity for its many benefits in recent years. This simple yet effective technique involves using a natural-bristle brush to gently massage the skin in upward strokes, typically before showering or bathing. Here are some compelling reasons why incorporating dry brushing into your routine can be a game-changer for your skin:

Exfoliation: Dry brushing sloughs off dead skin cells, promoting cell turnover. This reveals fresher, smoother skin and can help unclog pores, preventing breakouts.

Improved Circulation: The gentle pressure of dry brushing stimulates blood flow, promoting better circulation. This can result in a more radiant complexion.

Lymphatic System Support: Dry brushing assists the lymphatic system in removing toxins and waste products from the body. This can lead to reduced swelling and puffiness, especially in areas prone to fluid retention.

Stress Reduction: The rhythmic motion of dry brushing provides a soothing massage effect, which can help relax the body and reduce stress levels. It's a wonderful addition to any self-care routine.

Enhanced Absorption of Products: By exfoliating the skin's surface, dry brushing allows moisturizers and serums to penetrate more effectively, maximizing their benefits.

Energizing Effect: Many individuals report feeling more invigorated and alert after a dry brushing session. The increased blood flow and stimulation of nerve endings can provide a revitalizing boost. Incorporating dry brushing into your routine a few times a week can lead to noticeable improvements in skin texture, tone, and overall vitality. It's a simple yet powerful practice that can be easily adopted for a glowing, healthy complexion.

Younger Looking Skin: Dry skin brushing removes dead dry skin. This allows your skin to breathe. Your skin will look smoother and less crepey!

photo via Deposit photos

I can't wait to go to CVS tomorrow to get my brush to start Dry Brushing!

P.S. Remember there are pros and cons to many beauty routines. Dry brushing may not be for everyone. It is not recommended if you have a skin condition, such as Keratosis Pilaris. Also, never dry brush over an open wound. Do not dry brush on moles or skin cancer. And never dry brush too hard. It could irritate your skin. If you dry brush properly you can benefit from it.

Use a natural bristle brush instead of one with synthetic fiber. Just as you wouldn't use a chemical peel every day you should space out when you dry brush. Once to twice a week before you shower should work.

Does your dog own a Birkin bag?

2023-09-12T09:06:00.001-04:00

I know for sure that I will never own a Birkin Bag. I don't want one. And the cost! It's insane!

Well, just because I have no interest in a Birkin Bag doesn't mean my sweet little girl feels the same as me! So, Winnie just turned two years old and to celebrate we purchased a Barkin Bag for her! And she absolutely loves it! There's a whole Barbie vibe going on since the bag is pink!

I apologize for this poor quality video, but I wanted you to

see how excited Winnie was to get her Birkin Bag.

9/11

2023-09-11T14:08:00.001-04:00

We will never forget the tragic events of September 11, 2001. Thousands lost their lives, leaving a profound and lasting impact on the nation and the world.

My friend and former classmate Larry Yudin photographed and captured the feelings of love and pride that were everywhere in and around N.Y.C. after the horrific attacks. His heartfelt account of what he saw is in his book Ten Years Later: Remembering 9/11

"In my travels to my customers after the event of 9/11 I took many pictures of all of the flags that were all over the New York area on different buildings and settings. My book is a small sample of what I saw post 9/11…what New York looked like 10 years ago thru my camera lens."

Doctor Day Tripper is at it again!

Today Dr. Segan visited the TWA Terminal at J.F.K. airport. Great place to spend the afternoon. I think it can be described as futuristic and retro all at the same time. The TWA Terminal, designed by Eero Saarinen, opened in 1962. Its iconic wing-shaped structure revolutionized airport design. The terminal was a hub for transatlantic flights but closed in 2001. In 2019, it reopened as the TWA Hotel, blending mid-century modern style with modern amenities. You can read more about this iconic terminal here. I remember when J.F.K. was Idlewild. Do you?

The benefits of fruit

2023-09-07T10:01:00.002-04:00

A TREAT FROM NATURE

photo via Healthy Eating

Eating fruit provides so many health benefits due their nutrient-rich composition. First and foremost fruits are packed with essential vitamins and minerals, such as vitamin C, potassium, and folate, which are vital for overall well-being. These nutrients support immune function, blood pressure regulation, and cell growth.

Fruits are also an amazing source of dietary fiber, aiding digestion and keeping you "regular". Fiber helps prevent constipation and can contribute to weight management by promoting a feeling of fullness.

The antioxidants found in fruits, such as flavonoids and polyphenols, protect our cells from damage caused by free radicals, reducing the risk of chronic diseases like heart disease, cancer, and diabetes. Regular fruit consumption has been linked to lower blood pressure and improved heart health.

Many fruits, like berries, citrus fruits, and apples, contain phytochemicals that have been associated with cognitive function and a reduced risk of cognitive decline as we age.

Additionally, the natural sugars in fruits provide a healthier alternative to refined sugars, helping to satisfy sweet cravings without the negative effects of added sugars on our health.

Incorporating a variety of fruits into your diet can lead to improved overall health, including enhanced immunity, digestive health, heart health. and cognitive function while also helping to maintain a healthy weight.

What is your favorite fruit?

The Golden Bachelor

2023-09-05T14:57:00.002-04:00

Let's talk about the new Bachelor season.......

I've watched the Bachelor from time to time. I'm not the biggest fan of the show. It's somewhat entertaining but I can't totally relate since the contestants on the show are always so young. I am 69 and soon to be sailing into my seventies so I have never really felt a connection to the show.

ABC has nailed it this season. Our age group can finally relate! Starting this Fall 22 women between the ages of 60 and 75 will vie for the heart of Gerry Turner, the Golden Bachelor. Turner is a 71 year old widower from Indiana who was married to his high school sweetheart, Toni for 43 years. He has been a widower for six years and is now ready to find love again. Can't wait to see who gets the final golden rose!

He really seems like a genuinely nice man. I wish him the best!

These are the women hoping to win the heart of The Golden Bachelor

I am so looking forward to The Golden Bachelor! Ladies are you going to watch?

The show airs Thursday September 28th on ABC.

Have a nice weekend!

Walking Outdoors for Women over fifty

2023-09-01T01:31:00.004-04:00

Walking outdoors offers so many benefits for women over fifty, promoting both physical and mental well-being.

photo from Silver Sneakers

Physical Health:

1. Cardiovascular Health: Walking is a low impact cardiovascular exercise that helps improve heart health by increasing circulation, reducing the risk of heart disease, and lowering blood pressure. It strengthens the heart muscles and enhances the efficiency of oxygen utilization.

2. Weight Management: Maintaining a healthy weight becomes increasingly important as one ages. Walking outdoors helps bun calories, and a consistent walking routine can contribute to weight management and prevent weight gain.

3. Bone Density: Women over fifty are at an increased risk of osteoporosis. Weight bearing activities like walking stimulate bone growth, increase bone density, and reduce the risk of fractures.

4. Joint Health: Walking helps lubricate joints, reducing stiffness and improving flexibility. It is a gentle way to keep joints moving without putting excessive strain on them.

5. Muscle Tone: While walking primarily engages the lower body muscles, it also contributes to overall muscle tone. It can help preserve muscle mass, which tends to decline with age, and improve overall body strength.

Mental Well-being:

1. Stress Reduction: Spending time outdoors and engaging in physical activity triggers the release of endorphins, which are natural mood lifters. Walking in natural settings, such as parks or trails, can have a calming effect, reducing stress and anxiety.

2. Cognitive Function: Walking has been linked to improved cognitive function and memory. It encourages blood flow to the brain, promoting the growth of new neurons and potentially reducing the risk of cognitive decline.

3. Enhanced Mood: Exposure to natural light and fresh air during outdoor walks can significantly improve mood. The combination of physical activity and nature can help alleviate symptoms of depression and boost overall emotional well being.

4. Social Interaction: Walking outdoors can be a social activity when done with friends, family, or in a group setting. Maintaining social connections is crucial for mental health and can also make the walking experience more enjoyable.

Walking does not require any special equipment. Walking is a convenient form of exercise that can be easily incorporated into daily routines, making it accessible for women over fifty regardless of their fitness level. Walking is gentle on the joints, so it is suitable for people with joint issues and arthritis. The best part of walking outdoors is being connected with nature. Just looking up and seeing the blue sky and greenery around you or listening to the sounds of nature can give you a sense of peace and gratitude. Enjoy the changing seasons! Each season has its own beauty. You are able to be immersed in the scenery as you are getting healthier. And regular physical activity such as walking can improve the quality of your sleep. To me that is a great plus. Walking has the power to invigorate the body, rejuvenate the mind, and enhance the joy of life!

P.S. Ladies if for any reason you cannot get outdoors to walk there are plenty of indoor spaces that are great. It may not be outside in nature but you are still getting in the steps and that is a good thing for so many reasons. So the next time you go to Costco or the mall take advantage of the large open area and get in some steps!

P.S.S. Ladies I am not a doctor. I am a Certified Personal Trainer with over 30 years of experience yet I am still learning. I know that walking is such a great form of exercise for so many reasons as I stated above, but if you are new to exercising please check with a healthcare professional first. Remember this is not a race. Go at your own pace. We are walking for our physical and mental well being! Have fun!

One and Done!

I love jumpsuits! They are trending for the fall season. No worries about what top is going with your pants or which pants are going with your top. Your outfit is complete! Jumpsuits are available at every price point. There are casual ones as well as dressy and the casual ones can also be dressed up or down depending on your shoes. But if you need one that is on the dressier side there are beautiful silk and satin jumpsuits. It's really a go-to outfit! Yes there is one downside to jumpsuits. We all know what it is. We have to kind of get naked to go to the bathroom. But I think it's a small price to pay for a great one and done outfit!

The Shed

Yesterday my boyfriend and I went for the nicest late lunch. We went to The Shed in Plainview, Long Island. We were there between lunch and dinner so it was not crowded. The Shed offers indoor and outdoor dining. It is located in a shopping center that has a Hampton vibe. Whenever I am there I feel like I am on a daycation out east.

The Shed offers Brunch, Lunch, and Dinner. They have an extensive menu of healthy dishes. And the best Lemonade! My boyfriend had salmon over a salad and I had a protein bowl with salmon on top. Delicious! When you are in the Plainview area definitely try The Shed.

You truly get the Hamptons vibe

Love the decor. Very Happy!
