spoof movie of Starwars, and like most movie with Mel Brooks is funny. In my opinion the movie wasn't really that funny but is somewhat enjoyable. The basic plot line is that Dark Helmet (Rick Moranis) wants to suck all the air out of this planet. He is able to do this with his overly large transformer spaceship.

Despite the clear parodies of some of the main characters, there wasn't really a parody of Luke Skywalker, instead there was Lone Starr which was sort of a mixture of Han Solo, and Luke Skywalker. Of all the characters I think the most leaver was Pizza The Hut, which was a fat pizza monster thing.

So if you couldn't tell from the description of a few of the character the movie is a little silly, and at times just kind of stupid, and like all light hearted movies has a super super happy ending. This is the kind of movie that I wouldn't really recommend seeing because well its on TV so much that you will eventually come across it, and if there isn't anything else on then it might be worth watching.

Forgetting Sarah Marshall

IMBD
Metacritic

The Verdict
<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_IbrZGYJ3X4Y/SKZaWm2sopI/AAAAAAAAAnU/tZtnhaY7IBo/s320/forgetting-sarah-marshall-poster-0.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5234970961298367122" />
Forgetting Sarah Marshal is basically about this nice guy Peter (Jason Segel), who has just broke up with his long time girlfriend. Peter's problem is that he was a really nice guy and some what of a doormat, and was heart broken by the news that his girlfriend was breaking up with him. So the start of the story sounds kind of sand, but it is actually hilarious. Then Peter decides to go to Hawaii which turns out to be where his ex was vacationing with the other guy. It's kind of hard to go much further into the plot without giving it away, but the movie is really funny and has some what of a cheesy ending.

Although the movie was very funny there were a few things that I didn't really like, one of which was the whole vampire opera, it was just kind of stupid. The final product was also really stupid and cheesy. I think the most hilarious thing was the satire of CSI in which peters ex-girlfriend Sarah Marshall (Kristen Bell) is the star.

So if your looking for a feel good movie for the end of your summer this is defiantly a flick worth renting.

Son of Rambo

IMDB

Metacritic

The Verdict

When I saw the trailer for Son of Rambo I thought it was going to be a hilarious movie spoofing Rambo sweeded style. But unfortunately the movie was had a deeper, more boring plot about two kids from very different family's that came to be best friends "blood brothers". I wanted to like the film, but at times it was just too cheesy, and the touching ending didn't really do anything for me. I think this movie kind of had the same problem as Be Kind Rewind it had

a hilarious trailer, and the sweeded videos on their own were very funny, but the plot behind them was stupid and cheesy.

I think the movie started off good, it had a tom sawyer time charm to it. But the whole french exchange student part was kind of stupid and weird. The length of the movie also kind of ruined it.

So in conclusion the movie was just kind of weird, and too long. Their were a few funny parts but they were few and far between.

Ken Denmead Reviews The Mummy 3

I am a huge fan of The Mummy and The Mummy Returns and have seen both many times. So it was disappointing to me to read the review by Ken Denmead that said the third movie was not good. The points he made were some of my main concerns about the third movie, and I fear that it will not have the re-watch value that the first two movies did. With that being said, he did mention that the their was plenty of action which in my opinion might save the movie from the bad story line.

To read the review for you self check out Wired.com

Mama's Boy

IMDB

The Verdict
Mama's Boy is a movie about a man named Jeffrey Mannus (Jon Heder) who is 29 and still lives with his mother. So basically Jeffery is scared to leave the nurture of <img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_IbrZGYJ3X4Y/SJXjcpNbkII/AAAAAAAAAm4/wQM1p54Sf_8/s320/mamas_boy.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5230336623498727554" />his mother, and for that reason is very strange. Eventually Jeffrey meets a girl Nora Flannigan (Anna Faris) who is also very strange.

But the main plot of the movie is about Jeffrey's mom Jan Mannus (Diane Keaton) who meets a very goofy but nice guy Mert Rosenbloom (Jeff Daniels). Jeffrey is pretty much trying to sabotage their relationship so that it can be just him and his mom.

Their are some very funny scenes which you come to expect with Jon Heder but about 30 minutes into the movie the story begins to pick up and the silliness subsides. The movie is kind of like a coming to age story only the main character is already 29.

It sort of has the super super happy ending that is a little cheesy, but it left you happy and not really hatting the movie. So the movie wasn't fantastic but if you are a fan of Jon Heder you will probably enjoy it. I would say its ok at best, but has a few funny parts and an enjoyable ending.

The Dark Knight

IMDB
Metacritic

The Verdict
<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_IbrZGYJ3X4Y/SIKiwCYG7WI/AAAAAAAAAmA/ZtIR5RUB4ro/s200/dark_knight_joker.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5224917463858605410" />The Dark Knight is the second Batman movie staring Christian Bale. I think these newer batman movies are much more dark and intense than the older ones. The villein in this movie is The Joker, one of the classic Batman villains unlike the less popular villain of Batman Begins.

The story that makes people into superheros are always my favorites, like the first Spiderman movie, and Batman Begins. But although this was not my favorite story line it was entertaining, and had some spectacular action.

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand; clear: right;" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_IbrZGYJ3X4Y/SIKi2CVBvXI/AAAAAAAAAmI/Qm8SqGEe2tM/s200/Cinema_1_080717.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5224917566924897650"/>Like I said earlier the newer movies are much darker than the older ones, one example of this is the villains. The Joker in this movie didn't have the clear cut 50's style purple pin stripe suit that I have come to recognize with the joker. The joker in this movie seems dirtier like a hobo and is sporting scars for a broken household. At first I didn't really like the way the joker was envisioned in this movie, but as the movie continued I thought Heath Ledger did a great job in this new bread of Joker.

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand; clear:right" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_IbrZGYJ3X4Y/SIKkpSXdQNI/AAAAAAAAAmQ/Iyepy40Pl4U/s200/twoface_aaroneckhart.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5224919546915012818" />Now I mentioned earlier how I loved watching movies that show the making of superheros, but I also love to see the making of villains. Two-face ever since I was little has always been my favorite villain. Watching the making of two face was very cool, and let me tell you this two face is way scarier than any I have ever seen.

So the story of the Dark Knight I found very hard to follow at times, and I think it is one of those movies that every time you watch it you pick up on something you missed the first time. With that being said the story isn't bad, its very entertaining and the action is amazing.

So if you love batman you will likely love this movie, if you like action movies you will likely love this movie, if you don't like action movies you still might like this movie.

The big Lebowski

IMDB
Metacritic

The Verdict
<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_IbrZGYJ3X4Y/SIANxHwkq-I/AAAAAAAAAl4/-Z6eg8cAfvw/s200/biglebowski.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5224190705297304546" />The big Lebowski is about this buy named Lebowski who everyone calls "dude". This movie is kind of like Beerfest, or How High, or basically any movie like that.

The only reason I give this movie a decent rating is the fighting money.

Death Sentence

IMDB
Metacritic

The Verdict
<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_IbrZGYJ3X4Y/SE2xSgAtDpI/AAAAAAAAAiE/QUT7axN2Tgg/s200/death-sentence-poster.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5210015275326181010" />Nick Hume (Kevin Bacon) is a ordinary guy with two good sons, and a loving wife. But one day while driving his oldest son home from a hockey game, his fuel ran low and he had to stop for gas. While pumping his tank, his son Brendan Hume (Stuart Lafferty) was killed in a gang initiation ceremony.

Heart broken about his sons loss, and the minimal punishments the courts can do to his sons killer, Nick takes the law into his own hands. From here the movie turns a little weird and kept reminding me of The Punisher, the only problem is Kevin Bacon is not as bad ass. Anyways the movie is pretty much Kevin Bacon vs. an entire gang and the end is not that predictable. I am not a huge fan of this movie because it's like a mash-up of Four Brothers and The Punisher only not as good as either of those two movies.

Chaos Theory

IMDB
Metacritic

The Verdict
<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_IbrZGYJ3X4Y/SE2XgvZZXrI/AAAAAAAAAh8/pNpL1jMgDRo/s200/tn_444_chaosposter_1201754206.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5209986932672126642" />Frank Allen (Ryan Reynolds) a seemingly normal guy, thought he had everything in his life figured out until one day chaos ensued. Frank has an OCD about writing everything he plans to do on note cards. But then after a series of unfortunate events he decides to write down a few different things to do and picks which on he is going to do randomly. This Chaos Theory he developed by picking random things to do makes the people around him think he's crazy.

The movie had some very funny parts, and some very sad parts (highs and lows if you will). It is kind of hard to summarize this movie because it has such a unique and funny story line. The crazy ride Frank Allen goes through just because he was 10 minutes behind schedule is entertaining to watch.

Be Kind Rewind

IMDB
Metacritic

The Verdict
<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_IbrZGYJ3X4Y/SEwYDwyLCeI/AAAAAAAAAh0/H5_apxtHDbM/s200/Be_kind_rewind_post.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5209565321874835938" />Be Kind Rewind is a movie about Elroy Fletcher (Danny Glover) whose video rental store is going to be closed if he does not make repairs and improve the business. In the modern age of DVD's, Mr. Fletcher's store is still selling VHS movie tapes. When Mr. Fletcher goes away one week, he leaves Mike (Mos Def) in charge. Well all was going good until Jerry (Jack Black) threw a grappling hook into a generator and became magnetized. After which time, Jerry erased all the VHS tapes in the store because he was magnetized. With a struggling store filled with VHS tapes it was up to Mike and Jerry to do something drastic to get people coming back before Mr. Fletcher returned from his vacation.

Without the money to buy new copies Mike and Jerry started filming their own versions of the movies from what they remember (or in some cases just made stuff up). To explain to the customers why the movies where "different" and more expensive they said the movies were "sweded" or special edition imports from Sweden.

The "sweded" movies they show in the movie and the idea itself was hilarious. Unfortunately I can not say the same about the general story line, and film. The ending was a little lame and unrealistic (I guess the beginning was too though), and their were not as many funny parts as I would have thought. The movie is defiantly not as good as the trailer suggests, but it does have some funny parts. But in my opinion you can get just as many laughs by going to youtube and watching peoples Be Kind Rewind inspired "sweded" movies.

3:10 to Yuma

IMDB
Metacritic

If there is one thing that I like more than an action movie, it’s a western. And 3:10 to Yuma is by far one of the best westerns I have ever seen. The acting was great, the story line was fantastic, and the complex outlaw Ben Wade was played brilliantly by Russell Crowe. Christian Bale had an equally impressive performance as Dan Evans, a veteran of the Civil War who lost one of his legs in battle.

After increasing hardship for Evans family, he agrees to help take Ben Wade, a ruthless killer to jail in Yuma. Unfortunately Ben Wade is a legendary outlaw with a highly skilled gang that won’t let Evans take Wade on the 3:10 train to Yuma without a fight. As the movie goes on you begin to see two sides of Ben Wade, the ruthless killer who shows no remorse and the more forgiving man who doesn’t want anything to happen to people who don’t deserve it. But in Ben Wade’s eyes more people deserve to die than most people would see fit.

What is amazing about this movie was the way they captured the Wild West and mans inner struggle to see justice in a land of lawlessness and greed. Amongst this greed is the saint Dan Evens whose only reason for being out west is so that his youngest son can live comfortably with his illness, and the only reason he took the Job was because he was tired of seeing his family suffer.

If you love westerns then this movie will probably be the best movie you have seen in a while, it just extremely well done, and it is full of exciting shootouts and lots of action.

<img style="float: left; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_IbrZGYJ3X4Y/SEYaWZqfozI/AAAAAAAAAhk/o0DEOYcug2M/s200/310poster.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5207878991249122098" />

Rambo

IMDB
Metacritic

The Verdict
"When your pushed living is as easy as breathing"
This movie is amazing, it embodies all that is great about action movies. This movie is defiantly just as good, if not better than the other Rambo movies. That being said this movie will probable not win an Oscar, and it would have been nice to see a little more of what happened to Rocky [Edit: oh wait sorry Rambo, that was not intentional] when he went back to the states. But even so this movie, for action fans like myself, was amazing. Their was gore, explosions, and just about everything Rambo fans have come to love. (He even rips a guys neck off with his bare hands!) Yes John Rambo again managed to destroy an entire army by himself (well with a little help from a guy with a sniper). Their were also some epic kills. It also should be noted that although Stallone is 62 hes still ripped.

So the basic plot is; Rambo is living alone peacefully with common village people in a rural area. Then some people come to ask Rambo for help (does this plot sound familiar?) Only this time the people who want help are missionaries, and they ask for a ride upstream (a ride, not help killing or saving people). But of course upstream is dangerous, and so Rambo must kill an entire rebel army. Unfortunately for Rambo he doesn't get the girl in the end like an Indiana Jones or a James Bond would have. Rambo is more like a Batman, only more bad ass. So if you liked the other Rambo's then you will freaking love this movie, its fantastic.

Virgin Territory

IMDB

The Verdict
<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_IbrZGYJ3X4Y/SEIEVZqfoxI/AAAAAAAAAhE/j_PBVxRxu8s/s200/3305ksj.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5206728884906599186" />
Virgin Territory has the intelligence and well crafted writing of a bad porno without the sex. The plot was moronic, it was supposed to be a comedy (supposed to be). Many of the accents were really bad (was that supposed to be funny?). The ending was kind of stupid, and cheesy. The movie kind of reminded me of American Pie, only without the comedy and in medieval times. Some things this movie did have going for it was the female actors and the abundance of titties.

Normally I will explain the plot of movies in my reviews, only their isn't any? Ok well the plot goes like this Hayden Christensen pissed of this guy who is trying to kill him. So he runs away, pretends to be dumb and deaf so he can hook up with nuns. A girls father dies and the guy who is pissed off at Hayden Christensen wants to marry her. The girl doesn't want to marry this old guy, and was supposed to marry this Russian guy. The Russian guy hooks up with a naked chick in the river who he thinks is the girl that the guy who is pissed off at Hayden Christensen also wants to marry. The retarded plot continues like this for a while, and in the end the guy that is pissed off at Hayden Christensen dies. It's one of thoughts super super happy endings, only by that point in the movie you really don't give a crap.

Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade

IMDB
Metacritic

The Verdict
<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_IbrZGYJ3X4Y/SEBKJ5qfowI/AAAAAAAAAg0/fMaho9q4EH0/s200/indiana-jones-and-the-last-crusade-poster-c12044807.jpeg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5206242703198626562" />Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade is probable the best Indiana Jones movie out of all of them (out of all of the old ones that is, have not seen the new one). The Last Crusade has lots of action, mean bad guys, and a story that is told in a very well thought out way.

The way the movie starts out with Indiana and a kid and his first adventure that made him who he is as an adult was genius. From the snakes, to the adventure, to the whip, and the famous hat, you learn the background story of Indiana Jones. Also the research and following the clues was something that I think was missing from The Temple of Doom, and makes scenes more thought provoking and exciting. The final tasks Indiana Jones must overcome, required quick thinking to avoid the traps, to get the greatest treasure of all the Holy Grail.

Their is just something about this movie that makes it extremely entertaining, and has that timeless value that many movies will never have. This movie also has great replay value, its one of those movies you can watch every year and still never tire of it. I guess there is something about George Lucas movies and replay value (Star Wars).

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom

IMDB

The Verdict
<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_IbrZGYJ3X4Y/SEAwn5qfovI/AAAAAAAAAgo/cYjxWcmV5cY/s200/indiana_jones_and_the_temple_of_doom_ver1.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5206214631292379890" />Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom seems like the slightly more extreme Indiana Jones movie. This movie is defiantly more dark, contains a less known non-biblical legend and artifact. The movie also seems like it would be very offensive to Indian people, but I don't know maybe all Indian people eat is monkey brains, bugs, and snakes.

The movie had all the funny cheesiness that only Harrison Ford can make fantastic. What I mean by that is the funny camera angles, the music when Harrison is with a girl, and his little arguments with girls. The ending also had all that hilarious cheesiness that more cinema movies should have.

When I watch Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, I don't think of it as a work of art but a fun movie with a large entertainment value. The story line, and some things that happen seem pretty ridiculous but its fun to watch.

So in conclusion if you like Indiana Jones movies, you would probable loves this movie, otherwise you will probable hate this movie.

Raiders of the Lost Ark

IMDB
Metacritic

The Verdict
<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_IbrZGYJ3X4Y/SDZEoJqfouI/AAAAAAAAAgE/Rhek63-_sM8/s200/Raiders.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5203421876052796130" />Aside from some cheesy magic, the same love melody from the star wars movies when Harrison Ford is around a female, and the out of date special effects this movie is fantastic. Of course this is not the first time I have seen this movie, but before I go to see the new movie, I thought I would re-watch the older ones.

If you don't know the story, Harrison Ford plays this bad ass archaeologist who goes on all sorts of adventures looking for different biblical/magical items also wanted by bad guys. He is equipped with a whip, a gun, a sweet hat, and years of tomb raiding experience. In this movie he is after the Lost Ark that contain the original 10 commandments that have "special powers".

I think the movie was a perfect length, it was quite an adventure, and it has a great ending. There is nothing particularly wrong with this movie, and it is truly time less.

Eye for an Eye

IMDB

The Verdict
<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_IbrZGYJ3X4Y/SDC50egl4yI/AAAAAAAAAfs/0sgvKfIAiyo/s200/cover.w200.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5201861880807023394" />Karen McCann (Sally Field) while driving home was talking to her older daughter Julie (Olivia Burnettea) about her younger daughters birthday party later that day, when a man entered the house and attacked Julie. Karen and her family was devastated that their child was raped and murdered in there home. The attacker is played by none other than Kiefer Sutherland who in this movie is not the mane. Far from it, Kiefer Sutherland plays Robert Doob a really sick and violent man who gets away with the murder due to a technicality. So Karen McCann (Sally Field) takes matters into her own hands.

The movie is very exciting to watch, and the ending was cleaver. Some parts of the movie seemed pointless but they don't really take away from the rest of the movie. Sally Field and Ed Harris both were very good in their roles, as well as Kiefer. I don't think this movie was a great master piece of theater but it was defiantly fun to watch and entertaining.

Site Redesign

You might have noticed a To the Point Movie Reviews looks a bit different, that is because I have modified the layout slightly. And the color scheme has also changed.

What has not changed and will likely not change is the general review layout, quick links will remain on top, followed by a review, then a trailer. The plot of course is a little more cleaver than that, but I would rather not give that much away or go into that much detail. Reservation Road is an extremely sad movie about a mans struggle to cope after the loss of his son, and another man's struggle to cope after a horrible accident. I think what makes this movie worth watching is the extraordinary performances by Joaquin Phoenix, Mark Ruffalo and Jennifer Connelly.

Although I am not a huge fan of Drama movies, this one was defiantly well done and worth watching. However be warned that you will probably need a box of tissues.

Shoot'Em Up

IMDB
Metacritic

The Verdict
<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_IbrZGYJ3X4Y/SCJzg6BFB7I/AAAAAAAAAes/gVKlIkKOAPI/s200/shoot-em-up.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5197843929105762226" />What I love about this movie is the simplicity of the plot, the ridiculous fight scenes, pointless violence, and a ridiculous plot. Shoot'Em Up embodies all the great qualities one would look for in a great action movie. This movie is kind of like a Satire/Tribute to my favorite movie genera. Now for people who are not huge action fans , and could care less about another Rambo movie then you will probable hate this movie. To me this movie is kind of a clash between Natural Born Killers, Live Free Die Hard, and the James Bond movies. Although I love action their was one scene were he was falling out of an airplane that looked so unrealistic, that I couldn't believe it was put in the movie.

So the plot (as if it really matters) is a guy who sees this pregnant woman in trouble, so he steps in and kills a crap load of assassins trying to kill her and her baby. After killing the pregnant movie the man takes it upon himself to protect the baby. So basically this bad buy Paul Giamatti (who does a good job playing a sick and twisted killer) goes around with lots of guys with guns to kill this guy who is known as Smith. Well thats pretty much the whole plot, oh and their are lots of shoot outs hence the name "Shoot'Em up".

Iron Man

IMDB
Metacritic

The Verdict
<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_IbrZGYJ3X4Y/SCJwhaBFB6I/AAAAAAAAAek/fCHEQt2ImUI/s200/poster_IronMan_comicon.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5197840639160813474" />I like comic books, one of which was Iron Man. So for that reason I could appreciate the story line in the beginning, because although the beginning was slow it payed homage to the original comics. Also Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) is an extremely entertaining character, with many funny scenes. Another great thing about this movie was the graphics, the way they brought Iron Man to life was epic!

The movie is very similar to that of the comics only Tony Stark was inured in a different war (although some people say its pretty much the same war just with more sand, but thats an entirely different topic). Anyways Tony Stark is indurged from shrapnel from a road side bomb, and he has things magnet thing in his chest that he needs powered up to survive. Stark builds this bad ass suit to escape from terrorists, and latter goes home to build an even more bad ass suit.

But what bothered me about this movie was the ending, its almost as if the whole purpose of this movie was to make bank on another Iron Man movie (which they will, and I will probable enjoy much more). Now their is a lot of people saying this movie is absolutely fantastic, but don't get your hopes up, because although it is entertaining it is still not as good as Transformers, Spiderman or Batman despite coming pretty close.

Baby Mama

IMDB
Metacritic

The Verdict
<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_IbrZGYJ3X4Y/SCJsxqBFB5I/AAAAAAAAAec/GDbUADk93LI/s200/baby-mama.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5197836520287176594" />If you think weekend update with Amy Poehler and Tina Fey is funny then you would probable like this movie. I myself don't think Amy Poehler or Tina Fey are funny, so coming into this movie I had low expectations. The movie was not that bad, but their were not any moments that I thought were absolutely hilarious. For the most part the movie could be kind of funny at times, but as a whole the movie was not that entertaining. The movie was also very predictable, especially the ending.

Basically the movie is about Kate Holbrook a single working woman who wants a baby, the only problem is her doctor doesn't like her uterus (I think the way they phrased that was suppose to be funny or something...). So Kate finds a woman Angie (Amy Poehler) to carry her baby. Then Kate meets a guy who works at a juice store that is competing with Jamba Juice (although they said in the movie that Jamba Juice was an evil corporation, I got the feeling it was an advertisement considering the amount of times they said the words "Jamba Juice"). Anyways Kate starts dating this guy, and I think you know what happens from her.

Although this movie is not that entertaining it did have some funny parts, I really liked Steve Martin's character Barry who is Kate's hippie boss. I also can't forget Dax Shepard who is an extremely good in his roles as stupid white trash people in movies, his work in Idiocracy was genius.

27 Dresses

IMDB
Metacritic

The Verdict
<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_IbrZGYJ3X4Y/SBqA3FuEaFI/AAAAAAAAAcs/4qGe4agxVPo/s200/mpa27dressesposter.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5195606804041853010" />This movie has all the predictability of any chick flick, it's cheesy, unrealistic, and has the super super happy ending. At about 7 minutes into this movie I thought to my self that I would hate this movie. The plot of this movie is the same recycled plot found in most chick flicks, it reminded me a lot of how to lose a guy in 10 days.

The main Character Jane Nichols and the guy who liked her both have similar jobs, and the guy has no reason to like her, she shows no interest, and he continually pursues her. The one thing this movie did have going for it however was it didn't have Kate Hudson or Matthew McConaughey who together make me want to sick a fork into my eye.

The movie saved it self from complete retardation by adding an interesting twist, the guy who Jane is in love with, loves Jane's younger sister, and the situations which came to be where quite enjoyable to watch. The frustration and goofiness of Jane as her little sister a dumb blond ruins her life as she knows it. I would say my favorite part was when Jane was standing right there when her boss proposed to her sister.

One thing that didn't make sense about this movie is how after having a dislike for Kevin Doyle the man who likes her, Jane starts posing for him in all of her brides maid dresses. Another thing that was kind of unrealistic was the cheesiness of the bar scene, where a bunch of strait men were getting excited about an Elton John song, sung by a drunk couple. But in this land of marshmallow clouds and unicorns everything does work out in the end, climaxing with a super cheesy wedding. But despite the cheesiness this movie had some cleaver and dare I say funny parts, such as the brides maid dresses at the end.

Aliens vs Predator - Requiem

IMDB
Metacritic

The Verdict
<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_IbrZGYJ3X4Y/SA0MYH-8-zI/AAAAAAAAAck/65l1_ujLJJY/s200/aliens_vs_predator_requiem.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5191819554027535154" /> Alien vs. Predator Requiem is the second movie where two famous alien species clash in an ultimate fight to the death. The only difference is this time the Aliens and Predators are fighting in a small town somewhere in the United States. One thing that I liked about Alien Vs Predator was the fact that there was a team of people in the arctic discovering this pyramid. In this movie the plot is a little more traditional for slasher movies, you have some people in a town going about their regular routines when out of know where comes killer aliens. The conclusion of this movie was much different than that of the first movie and the Predators seem to be much more powerful in this movie. The Aliens in this movie are also significantly weaker than they were in the Alien movies and in Alien vs. Predator.

Despite the noticeable changes, this movie had some great action, scary aliens, fierce predators, and all the face sucking spiders and slime that Alien fans have come to love, and all the scary ruthlessness that Predator fans have come to love. The plot of this movie was not the greatest, and the ending was a little lame or at least it was compared to the first Alien vs. Predator. But if you loved the last movie and you love the gore then you will enjoy this movie. One thing I noticed about this movie was that it’s gorier than any of the other movies (or at least the scene in the hospital with the pregnant lady, which was just grouse). In conclusion this movie wasn’t great, it was a little slow in the beginning, it was a little too long (2+ hours generally is), and I didn’t like the ending. But it might be worth renting if you’re a big fan of these movies.
