]]> http://www.tobinanderin.com/workout-buds/feed/ 1 Splashdown Water Park http://www.tobinanderin.com/splashdown-water-park/ http://www.tobinanderin.com/splashdown-water-park/#comments Fri, 04 May 2012 17:49:52 +0000 Erin http://www.tobinanderin.com/?p=1603 Read the rest of the story →]]> Bristol and I needed some frivolous fun before buckling down to a work schedule again.  Since it’s still cool and rainy outside, and since pools don’t open until June or later hereabouts, we decided to hit the indoor water park!  Although it’s small, it has slides for big people, slides for little people, separate swimming areas (with fun water features for the kiddos), and a huge hot tub.  That’s it, but that was enough to keep us occupied for the 45 minutes we were there.  Bristol got a little chilly so we headed out a tad early.

I was so proud of her; she warmed up to the pool idea pretty quickly, and went down slides and walked by herself in the kiddie pool.  That’s a big deal for her!

Ok, this isn't a water park picture. But she sure likes play-dough! Mama and baby. And a large duck. Camera's this way, baby girl. On her own in the water. Go, Bri, go! STANDING in the water! And running/leaping/falling in the water! She was so brave! Went down this duck slide several times. And down the frog slide several times! Sheer joy at putting her hand in the water jets!

Taking pictures while holding a baby is not always the easiest process, so some of the angles aren’t the greatest; but you get the point!

This year, my thoughtful MIL proposed taking off to Florida for spring break and as a distraction from the deployment.  What a great idea!  Personally, I’m thinking of applying it to other life situations.  A trip to Florida is always ok by me.

We painted Easter eggs, ate lots of good food, hit 3 different beaches on 3 different days, and really enjoyed the warm, beautiful, sunny weather.  Here are some of the photos I managed to grab in between soaking up the rays:

Florida Baby! Mama & Bristol, happy to be warm in the South! I look like a druggy, but look at my little girl! She wore this hat a lot in the sun; she loves to wear it at home now! Ok, she didn't wear it all the time... The gang, minus me the photographer and the guys, ready for the sunset on the beach. Dominick & Nick were too cool to hang out with us, lol! Take me to the water, Grandma Jacque! I love this photo. Bristol is getting braver and braver! She can play in the water all by herself! What do you see, little girl? Taking a stroll... Ok, enough pictures, Mom! Alright, a couple more; but only if you hold me! Pretty ladies. I'll save you from watching the 312 photos I took of the sun. Here's the gist, though I prefer the photos I took of just sky. And she's gone. Time for bed!

Thank you, internet how-to’s!

There be the innards.  Yep, that’s a full load of laundry inside.  Which brings me to the side story in which not much of interest happened but involved a great amount of manual water-dumping by the mama of the family and a great amount of glass-breaking by the baby of the family.  Messes on top of messes do not make a happy mama.  Urg.  Back to the real story:

And my awesome fix-it.  What’s the rubber band for?  That little guy?  I wouldn’t worry about that little guy.

Total cost of this DIY repair: $0.  And my washer is running a load of laundry as we speak.
