From Malacanang Palace, P-Noy declared Monday, November 7, 2011 as a REGULAR NON-WORKING HOLIDAY throughout the country to give way and in celebration of EI-DUL-ADHA or FEAST OF SACRIFICE (aka Day of Sacrifice) - this is observed after the HAJJ (the annual pilgrimage to Mecca in Saudi Arabia).

This was released via Proclamation No. 276, Series of 2011.

I was just checking my mail and my FB when I saw the date just on the lower right corner of the computer. And I was like - Okay!Weird and unusual as it may seem but this only happens once in a what? Ughh..a hundred years? a thousand? Well, it doesn't matter. Today is November 1, 2011 and obviously looks like this

It's just odd numbers that I hope will give some luck to everyone of us today! I hope it means something. And I have read earlier that adding your birth year (last 2-digit) and your current age will be equal to 111. Well that is if you already have celebrated your birthday before November 1, 2011. But if your birthday falls on after November 1, that is November 2 and so on, then you should add 1 right after adding the last 2-digit of your birth year and your current age. Get it? Makes no sense? Just try it!

So this is how it works: (birthdays this year fall before November 1, 2011).

Last 2-digit of birth year + current age = 111
*sample: My birthday was last August 21, 1985
85 + 26 = 111

Follow this if : (birthdays this year fall after November 1, 2011).

Lat 2-digit of birth year + current year + 1 = 111
*sample: My friend's birthday is on December 25, 1985
85 + 25 + 1 =111

Earlier this day, P-Noy proclaimed, October 31, 2011 as Special Non-Working Holiday nationwide (walang pasok sa mga eskwela at trabaho - ayus!). In the same way, as what Pinoys traditionally observe and was also proclaimed by the president, November 1, 2011 will also be a Special Non-Working Holiday. This is to give way to the Pinoys who will travel to their respective provinces in order to fully prepare themselves as well as deeply remember and visit their deceased family members and friends. In addition, this will also pave way for those who want to relax and have a short and simple vacation over the weekend.

Yesway! Mahaba-habang inuman nanaman ba eto? Este!Mahaba-habang preparasyon eto para gunitain natin ang ating mga pumanaw na mga mahal sa buhay. Sakto!

1st Motorcycle Grand Prix

As the month of February approaches, various activities are lined up to color the mood of the generals. And this might just be one of the activities that will set the tone of the festival.

Mark your calendars as the 1st Motorcycle Grand Prix will be on February 26, 2011 at Robinson's Place parking area. This will be part of the week long celebration of the 2011 Kalilangan Festival/72nd Foundation Anniversary of Gensan.

This event is organized by Gensan Mio Club and hosted by Robinson's Place.

2nd National Skimboarding Competition

my 25th year: BIGGER. BRAVER.WISER.

Last August 21, 2010 I just turned 25 years. Yep! You heard it all! TWENTY-FIVE joyful, sorrowful and glorious mysteries of my life. Who would've thought of my age at this moment?Of course myself! Ugh, maybe my friends and family thought of it. But, ohh-my-god. I can't believe that I'm 25. Literally, of course I can't help it but admit that I'm 25! Ugh! But anyway, one thing I've been thinking the past few days (or maybe weeks) is that:

I am BIGGER.
Yea! as in bigger. Just last year I only weighed about 54 to 55 kg. Now? My weight runs from 60 to 61 kg! On a serious note though, I have now a much BIGGER view in life. I think I view life now as very URGENT. I am 25 and I don't know how many years, months, weeks, or days God will give me (I'm not saying na may taning na ang buhay ko - simbako palayo). I am living my life as if I have a BIG and URGENT responsibility not only to myself but also to my family (they're not getting younger anymore).

I am BRAVER.
I don't fear anyone. I know what I'm doing and I know I'm not hurting anybody. I continue my life as BRAVE as I can be. I know I haven't faced the most grueling and painful story in life. I'm only 25 and I expect more tears, pain and heartaches in the coming years. And there's only one thing I should keep in mind - be BRAVE! No matter what it takes.

I am WILDER.
Don't be too negative about this. I'm WILDER in terms of my imaginations and ambitions and the things I want to accomplish. I have a million wants and needs but there's only these things I want to be and want to have before I reach the age of 50 - that's 25 years from now. And here it goes:

I want to have my own business. As in business that is named after me. It could be food, resto bar or a small hotel.
I want to have my own house. Not necessarily a mansion or a multi million house. A small condo type house will do.
I want to have my own car. Brand new car. Of course automatic! hahahaha
I want to have a rest house at the farm for my family.
I want my family to be happy! Always!

These are all my "major major" aspirations before I get 50. hehehe. Not impossible if I work hard and continue to let God be my light and guide.,

Gallent takes over as Derby Ace retains its name in the PBA

Just last week I posted a blog which claims that Purefoods/B-Meg Derby Ace dropped its name to become PETRON in the coming conference. But this week, things turned around quickly as the management retains the B-Meg Derby Ace name. There might have been some conflicts along the way that caused the cancellation of the shifting of the San Miguel Purefoods banner in the PBA to Petron. But as a Purefoods/Derby Ace fan, I'm sure I'm not the only one who's happy for the retention of its name - at least for the coming season which starts

October 3, 2010.

To follow up the news that Ryan Gregorio and Ronnie Magsanoc were the new head coach and assistant coach respectively for the newest team in PBA -Meralco, George Gallent was named as the head coach of the Derby Ace. Only Koy Banal and Dayong Mendoza were left to be assistant coaches of the Llamados.

XB Gensan Performed in front of Government Employees

XB Gensan had a courtesy call from General Santos City Mayor Darlene Magnolia Antonino-Custodio last friday at GSC City Hall. Although I never really saw them during their visit because I was still at work. But luckily, early this morning - at the weekly flag ceremony of government employees at the basketball court in Oval Plaza, XB Gensan performed live in front of us. Of course wearing their signature costumes - black skirt and no tops. They thrilled the audience with their devil stare and the most anticipated move with the background chanting of KALIWA-KANAN-KALIWA!

It was heart-pounding. Very proud to be generals.

Proud indeed. As they will be seen in ASAP XV regularly. They will go back in Manila on the 26th of August and have already lined up for different interviews and TV appearances. They will be taping next week for Sharon (Sharon Cuneta) and Korina (Korina Sanchez).

Purefoods bids Farewell to PBA

Last week Sta. Lucia bowed out of the pro league (PBA). This time around, Purefoods/B-Meg franchise' transferred to Petron. This means that this coming 2010-2011 PBA Season, James Yap and the rest of his teammates will banner PETRON.
This is sad for me. Since I've been a fan of Purefoods for years. Will this also mean that some of Purefoods players will go to other teams? Coach Ryan is now the coach of MERALCO. Whos next?

Anyways, Purefoods fans - let's just keep on supporting the team. Whatever name they banner, we will all be solid.
