Solar storm does'nt threaten the Astronauts

An earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale shake central Philippines this morning, exactly three kilometers north of the city of Masbate, Masbate island. At least five people were reportedly injured by a falling heavy objects.

For the first time in history, scientists discovered a strain of influenza virus in the body of a bat. They used skin samples from four volunteers - two healthy people and two with Parkinson's disease caused by a parkin gene mutation. Studying human neurons is critical in Parkinson's disease since animal models that lack the parkin gene do not develop the condition, rendering them useless for this research purpose. They have already shown that they can reverse the defect by putting a normal parkin gene into diseased neurons.

NASA financial plan: slashes extraterrestrial funds

President Barack Obama's 2013 budget request for NASA would slash spending on Mars exploration and shift funds to human spaceflight and space technology. In 2014, while the budget is flat, the agency needs to pay for its flagship James Webb Space Telescope mission, the budget for which is projected to rise from $476.8m in 2011 to $659m.
