Prayer for Our Government and World Affairs

Father, guide our government in dealing with Iran. It seems as though their views are fixated on despising the US and Israel. Give our government officials wisdom in how to deal with Iran. Protect our soldiers in Iraq.

Give congress wisdom and help them to be logical in cutting through politics and making laws that will actually help people. Help them to make right decisions. Lord, we back Israel. Impress that same importance on the hearts of the members of our Government.

We Want To Glorify You, Jesus

Father, we offer ourselves up as living sacrifices to you. Just as Jesus willingly carried his cross to Calvary and allowed himself to be killed to pay the price for our sins, we take up our cross daily. We want to kill our flesh, and devote our lives to you. In every action, we want to glorify the name of Jesus. Thank you for giving us your holiness and righteousness. Help us to operate in the gifts of your Spirit. Help us to be humble and unashamed of who we are. We are Christians. We believe that Jesus is the Son of the one true God, and that Jesus died and rose from the grave, conquering sin and death. Hallelujah! You are so magnificent, Jesus! We love you!

Uncomfortable In Our Own Skin

Jesus, keep us mindful that everything around us will someday pass away, and we will be transformed when we go to live with you in eternity. Help us to keep our priorities straight in that mindset. People are the only things that really matter. Give us an incredible capacity for loving one another. Make us humble and forgiving. Help us to be peacemakers. When we get caught up in the things of this life, we tend to become crass and mean-spirited. Keep us focused on the things that really matter. Keep us from getting too comfortable in this life. Help us to be mindful about what we allow into our minds. We want our natural tendency to be that when we have spare time before bed or in between projects or meetings, we spend time with you or meditate on good and pure things that will edify us and be a blessing to you.
