Jesus actually has a lot to say about "secrets" and even relates our authenticity with our ability to keep a secret.

This Independence weekend at Discovery we will consider the explosive topic of Lust. Jesus speaks very clearly to this subject in his Sermon on the Mount in Matthew 5:27-30. Today, we will study what it means to "love" , "look" and "lust".
This message is PG13 as there will be some magazines, movies and music that are not appropriate for children under 13 years old.
This weekend we launch in the second half Matthew chapter five & Jesus Sermon on the Mount. Included is stuff like anger, murder, lust, adultery, divorce, loving your enemies and turning the other cheek.
Easy Stuff!
This week will will consider just one of these topics --- not gonna tell you which one.

This morning has not been easy as both the king of pop & beauty have died.
Both of these people have affected our culture in major ways, both positive and negative.
I pray for their families & their own personal relationships with Jesus.
The one whom they now see & stand before.
The MOST beautiful one --- Jesus!

film. The person who took the Picture couldn't believe the image
created by the suns rays.
This Fathers Day weekend we will be honoring & praying for all our earthly fathers. Praying for wisdom, discipline, passion, tenderness and tough love as we accept the great privilege we have to show our children a picture of our heavenly Father.
This weekend we will also continue our Summer on the Mount series in Matthew 5:17-22.

Here is the question that has been on my mind for the past four days.
Why was Jesus public ministry on this earth three years?
I mean why not 4, 5, 6 or 10 years?
And it is any wonder that I see pastors who have been at it 13 or 33 years become a shell of who they once were or even who they were originally intended to be.
I do not have this all thought out ...
But as I wrestle with the multiple demands of ministry and leadership in my life & balance that with who God created me to be ...
I am very curious as to why three (3) years?

This weekend we keep rollin' into week two of our "Summer on the Mount" Bible study.
This weekend we will be in Matthew chapter five where Jesus speaks about us being "salt & light". This is an incredible section of scripture.

This Memorial Weekend at Discovery we will take a special opportunity to concentrate on our futures & families.

An inheritance being what you leave "for" your family & a legacy being what you leave "in" your family.
The ideal is, of course, to do both --- but that is way easier said than done!

This weekend at Discovery we are going to honor & encourage our SoCal teachers. This is a very difficult season to be an educator as many have received "pink slips" and are facing the very real possibility of having no teaching position this coming school year.
So, we want to spend some time in prayer for our fabulous teachers.
I will also be sharing a message designed specifically for this weekend that I am calling "The Constant Learner".
