Toronto, ON/March 22, 2012 –Joseph Kony is a wanted man and now the hunt is on to capture him so that justice is served for his horrific crimes since forming the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) over 20 year ago in Uganda.

Tokii.com, one of the world’s most relied upon relationship management website platforms for couples, just launched its Kony2012 DiscoveryGame in order to gain feedback, get people talking about the issues, and boost awareness on Kony. Each week Tokii.com offers a number of new DiscoveryGames relating to an array of topics like current events, politics, travel, holidays, love, romance, and sex.

Kony is now in the public eye big time since the world has learned of how he and his LRA regime kidnapped over 30, 000 children so they could work in its rebel group. Under Kony’s ruse, he made young boys and men soldiers, and sadly, young girls and women into “wives” and sex slaves since forming the LRA in 1986, according to the Associated Press.

“The social media world has exploded with so much response this week following the launch of a documentary titled Kony 2012,” says Karla Stephens-Tolstoy, founder and CEO of Tokii.com. “The 30 minute documentary is now posted on YouTube and Vimeo, and as March 20, 2012, the film was viewed over 80 million times. This demonstrates the power of social media and how people want to talk about the issues at hand.”

The documentary, which was directed and produced by Jason Russell for the campaign group Invisible Children Inc, was made in an effort to increase US involvement in capturing a the man who founded the LPA.

“Tokii.com and its Kony 2012 DiscoveryGame is yet another effective tool in promoting awareness of Kony. Simply put, Tokii.com and its members want to make a difference and feel the need to participate in our DiscoveryGame,” says Tolstoy.

Tolstoy points to some thought-provoking results from members who participated in the Kony 2012 DiscoveryGame. “Interestingly, the majority of men feel that he will be killed rather than being captured, while the majority of women suggest he will be caught this year.”

She adds, “A point to highlight from our data is that while both men and women feel the use of social media is effective in creating awareness on the issue involving Kony, our members strongly feel that the negative media attention in the end will not make a difference in the end.”

Of course while the Kony 2012 documentary has generated chatter, so has Russell himself, the film’s director who was involved in a scandal only days ago. Despite this however, men and women with Tokii.com don’t feel it does not alter the problem.

Click on the following link to play game: Kony 2012 Tokii.com DiscoveryGame

Toronto, Ontario/March 20, 2012 - One of the world’s most popular relationship management platform websites for couples announced today that they are pushing the envelope in a big way in order for couples to learn more about love, relationships, and yes, you got it – sex.

Tokii.com just expanded its ecosystem of relationship support and resources with the launch of Tokiitales.com. Through a unique mix of real life stories and fiction about relationship experiences, the site content is hot and steamy, but it also creates learning opportunities in thought-provoking ways.

According to Alison Sigmon, therapist and author, storytelling is a cornerstone of cultures around the globe and essential to personal and relationship growth, influence, and evolution. She continues with saying, “It is the most effective method when sharing wisdom, gaining insight, changing behavior, and inspiring others to try something new or different. When we see others have experienced what we’re experiencing, we feel more confident and inspired to act in thoughtful ways.”

Tokiitales.com is a platform for members to contribute their stories, and at the same time get analysis, advice, and tips from subject matter experts that readers can learn from and use for themselves and their relationships. It promotes exchanging ideas, sharing perspective, and peeking into others’ experiences through story-specific comment streams. Sigmon added, “Just like reading a parable, watching a film, or listening to a great storyteller, Tokiitales.com offers a stage and an audience for anyone seeking information and support about relevant, current subjects in entertaining and even provocative formats.”

No holds barred – the site does contain material that is sexually explicit in nature and adult discretion is advised – Tokiitales.com offers an array of categories for online readers which include “What Turns Me On?,” “Erotic,” “Relationship,” “Life Challenges,” “Humour,” and “Mystery.”

Here are two links for men and women to learn more about Tokiitales.com:

For Men

For Women

Karla Stephens-Tolstoy, Founder and CEO of Tokii.com, indicates that the launch of Tokiitales.com is another avenue to provide experience and knowledge through methods tailored to the needs and style of the individual.

“Our website is growing strong simply for the reason that people out there want credible advice on love, relationships, sex, and even dating,” she says. “We are now becoming a household name in Canada, the USA and beyond as more and more couples turn to us so each day so that they can better discover new aspects of their relationships when dealing with their partners.”

Tolstoy adds, “The launch of Tokiitales.com will be a hit for new and current members. Let’s face it, the world is a changing place and people in relationships who have careers and living fast-paced lives need a site like ours for advice, guidance, and support. We want everyone to share their stories, post comments and engage in dialogue on topics that focus on love, sex, and relationships and so much more.”

Tokii.com is a free online relationship management platform that helps busy couples stay connected. The site is interactive allowing couples to participate in an abundance of DiscoveryGames, and the site provides couples with advice columns, blogs and stories on love, sex and relationships. Tokii.com will “tune up” any relationship so couples can “tune in” to each other’s needs and get the spark back they need.

Karla Stephens-Tolstoy, Founder and CEO of Tokii.com, knew that the Planning for St. Patrick’s DiscoveryGame would generate a lot of interest from members.

“St. Patrick’s Day is a big event and so many couples enjoy celebrating the occasion with green beer and cheers,” laughs Tolstoy.

She adds, “It’s interesting to know that there is a movement among our membership which proves that men want the day off to soak up some Irish fun. As well, in all, our members revealed that St. Patrick’s Day is the official day of the year to acknowledge the Irish.”

Tolstoy indicates that the DiscoveryGames offered on Tokii.com is a unique way to measure how couples feel and interpret special occasions and topics of interest. Tokii.com has been providing a variety of DiscoveryGames since launching its website only a year ago.

The Data collected from the Tokii community has generated some interesting feedback.

- Some of the highlights from our members and comments from experts:

29% of men, 11% of women feel it is important to make love on Valentine’s Day

Sex in a relationship is important, period. Studies show that sex is a predictor of a happy relationship. [It] can be a miracle worker. Good sex induces the release of oxytocin and dopamine [and] fosters trust; a feeling of closeness long after the act itself is over.

(Dr. Amir Levine and Rachel S.F. Heller, MA “Attached: The New Science of Attachment“)

25% of men, 19% of women absolutely believe Valentine’s Day is for females

Females are usually more concerned about the relating aspect of relationships. They often pay attention to details and may feel unloved, unacknowledged and unappreciated if they don’t receive a Valentine’s Day gift.

(Dr. Erica Goodstone, twitter.com/BoomerHealthy)

45% of men, 19% of women think men should also be spoiled on Valentine’s Day

Let’s face it; Valentine’s Day is for women! It’s advertised to men that they need to do something for their significant other, [but] there is nothing a man wants more than to be wanted! What better way to show it than on Valentine’s Day! It’s a great opportunity to shake things up in a relationship!

(David Simonsen MS, LMFT. Creative Solutions Counseling)

Tokii asked, the community responded:

Here are some highlights:

“We wanted to really know what Valentine’s Day means for men and women, and we sure learned a lot. The results from our community have generated some striking differences between men and women: some aren’t all too surprising, women are interested in gifts and being pampered, men want the sex, but what’s great is that the context for these needs. When you read between the lines a little you can see that what women really want is thoughtfulness, and what men are after is to feel needed.”

Toronto, ON – Tokii.com’s latest DiscoveryGame Intimacy His Way/ Her Way asked couples to explore what intimacy means to them, and the Community Stats reinforced some well-known differences between men and women. Somewhat surprisingly, the results also revealed that when it comes to certain body parts… like the lips… couples are far more like-minded than you might think.

Here are a few of those more common differences:

45% of men said they feel they achieve intimacy by connecting sexually

85% of women said they feel intimacy by connecting emotionally

So the majority of women are more likely to seek intimacy through an emotional connection like talking and cuddling as opposed to men who are actually split between connecting emotionally and physically.

But what about frequency? Stereotypes suggest men are always on the prowl… and that one’s mostly true, but what about for women? Tokii’s stats revealed that men and women are thinking about sex quite a lot:

49% of men said they think about sex as often as they breathe

46% of women said they have sex on their mind as frequently as they check their email

What is it about sex that has men instinctually craving it like a natural bodily function? Perhaps they are more naturally aware of the benefits of sex on reducing stress. When men were asked if they use sex to reduce stress and feel better, over 80% gave a resounding “Yes!” When asked the same question, only 50% of women said they use sex for the same benefits.

But perhaps it’s not that women don’t get the same benefits to stress relief. As Certified Professional Life Coach Wendy Kay points out, there may be a more scientific reason why women don’t feel the need for stress-reducing stress:

“Both genders feel more relaxed after experiencing the release of endorphins and oxytocin that result from having sex. The chemical gives feelings of euphoria and a sense of bonding and will stay in the system for carrying times. For a male it could last 1 to 2 hours. But for a female, it could last up to 2 days.”

Despite of the clear differences between the way men and women approach intimacy, there are important similarities:

40% of men and 62% of women agree the neck is hot spot for physical intimacy

57% of men and 48% of women agree kissing is their favorite form of foreplay

In addition, both men and women agreed that the mouth was one of the most intimate parts of the body. With one kiss, men and women said they are able to communicate their desire, their needs, and the interest for one another.

When asked about the similarity between the sexes, Therapist and Author Alison Sigmon explains, “the mouth is a very intimate place – we use it to test many things – even compatibility. Think about all the things we do with our mouth and the role that is plays as a gateway to our body and our mind.” The tongue, Sigmon adds, lets us know if what it’s touched tastes good and is safe, and our lips – with all the many nerve endings – tell us about warmth, cold, roughness, etc. She also offers a reason why a kiss doesn’t always generate the same response:

“Combine these components into a single experience like a kiss, and you’ve got the story of the other person in an instant, which fires off a ton of information that tells the body what kind of hormones should be mobilized for the experience. This is likely why you physically and emotionally respond differently to your Aunt Bessie’s sloppy smooch and your partner’s slow, present kiss.”

Tokii’s own Community Stats help us to understand the differences and similarities between the male and female perspective, and Tokii’s founder and CEO, Karla Tolstoy-Stephens, says that has been part of Tokii’s mission since day one:

“Tokii’s goal is to provide current, informative, and reliable answers to topics that can be illusive and at times uncomfortable. We also provide resources and support to help couples avoid unnecessary conflict in their relationship. Our products make it easier for men and women to interact and discover new and delightful things about their relationship and themselves.”

Head to Tokii.com today and add your perspective to the Community Stats by playing the game for yourself, and for your partner.

*All community responses were pulled from the Intimacy His Way, Intimacy Her Way & Dirty favorites DiscoveryGames on January 17, 2012

OAKVILLE, ONT. (Jan. 20, 2012) – A recently launched game is proving to be very popular as Toki discovers that currently men have a stronger opinion than women about the U.S. Republican electoral campaign.

Tokii’s Discovery Game, Republican Primaries Potluck, asked men and women their opinions about how the Republican candidates are presenting themselves and what they consider to be most important. Overall, women indicated a lukewarm reception to the candidates while men showed stronger opinions.

Tokii’s Findings:

Half of the men and 40% of the women who participated indicated that a candidate’s performance on a televised debate is important in his/her overall ability to lead a nation.

Mitt Romney’s business acumen makes him a more appealing candidate in “fixing” America, half the men and 40% of women responded.

100% of men and 60% of women view Texas Republican Ron Paul as a radical or maverick when compared to the other candidates within his own party, because of his more liberal views and yet very few respondents see him as being out there on the fringe.

Responses regarding Newt Gingrich were very polarized as half the men and 40% of the female participants think that Newt Gingrich is on the ropes as he has lost significant ground to Mitt Romney. However another 50% of men & 40% of women believe he still has a chance to regain momentum.

Most men, 75%, and half the women responded that Rick Santorum’s strong support from the evangelical Christian groups gives him the potential to become the wildcard in the Republican race.

Political observer Andrew Lawton of Landmark Report (andrewlawton.ca) suggests Tokii’s findings reflect an overall lackluster campaign by most of the frontrunners, provoking some weak opinions.

“From this data, we see lukewarm support of Rick Santorum from female participants, which is common with candidates like Santorum who are known predominantly for hardline socially conservative positions. As well, we see more optimism for Mitt Romney’s business background from male respondents, which is understandable given the general trend of females not voting based on business acumen,” said Lawton.

“The fact that women are less decisive than men on Ron Paul is indicative of the fact that female Republicans are (generally) less conservative than male Republicans. Ron Paul, while seen as liberal by many conservatives, is one of the most extreme candidates in his views, which never bodes well with female voters,” Lawton concludes.

Media consultant Roni Weiss, co-producer and panelist for Don’t Worry About The Government (dontworry.tv), said that Americans have said that business skills are not necessarily transferable to the White House.

“Americans have a disconnect when it comes to business and politics. Or rather, they connect them too much,” said Weiss. “But Americans see that there are economic problems and think that if someone has experience in business, they will be better able to solve them.”

John Cavanagh, president and CEO of Cross Cultural Communications, (crossculturalcomm.com) found the gender differences of opinion reflective of the bigger picture.

“This could be an overall gender difference in the support of Governor Romney with more men than women having a variable impression,” said Cavanagh.

On the question of Santorum’s evangelical support, Cavanagh suggests the gender difference could lie in the candidate’s heavy reliance upon conservative “family issues”.

Oakville, Ontario – Online relationship platform Tokii has released new findings from its user base about couples communications, continuing its work with helping couples navigate the new world of relationships in the digital age.

Responding to the Communication His Way & Communication Her Way DiscoveryGames, Tokii users were frank and unvarnished in their answers. For example, 89% of men & 61% of women assume something is wrong when their partner says “Let’s Talk.”

In a dispute, men responded that they are more likely to react with heat & intensity, whereas women claimed they ran through a gamut of emotions. It appears that unless there is a quick fix to a problem, men are inclined to want to put off the discussion. Their partners want to deal with, solve it and move on.

When it comes to discussion, Tokii’s men seem to be direct and to the point, using an economic average of 7,000 daily words. Women, on the other hand, want to use more of their daily 20,000 words* to try to make the message clearer for their partner. With added years in a relationship, sometimes active listening gets swept under the rug as each partner believes they “know” what the other one is thinking.

When we asked Tokii Expert, Wendy Kay to comment on our members statistic that men cry more out of sadness and women out of frustration, Wendy said, that both sadness and frustration are more difficult to identify than anger. Tears are a good visual cue to help couples understand what their partner is feeling.

“It doesn’t matter whether you’re male or female, 67% of both sexes get frustrated when they think they’re not being heard,” Tokii Expert, Alison Sigmon said, “Understanding that both genders feel the same about this puts them on the same team… We often assume our partner should just get these things, but would you just make that assumption with colleagues or friends? If you want a certain response from your partner, then it’s important to be clear about what you need. Neither of you are mind readers.”

To find more about what Tokii experts Wendy Kay and Alison Sigmon had to say regarding the community responses, visit the blog post here. Visit Tokii.com and play Communication His Way and Communication Her Way DiscoveryGames to add your thoughts to our statistics.

Celebrating the New Year Canadian Start Ups, Tokii and Creative Couples Partner

Vancouver, British Columbia – What start-up doesn’t dream of having a nationally recognized company want to partner with them?

Given the opportunity, Creative Couples couldn’t say no. Creative Couples, the Online Magazine for Couples in Business Two-gether opened it’s virtual pages for business in February 2011. In August, the relationship management site Tokii, named Canada’s best start up during its launch by The Maple Leaf Digital Lounge at SXSW in March 2011, and Creative Couples began working on a partnership.

Tokii allows today’s busy couples to manage their relationships in a fresh and fun way, using online games and other tools. Less than 5 months after their first talks with Creative Couples, Tokii launched their first DiscoveryGame focusing on couples exploring the possibility of being in business together; the game is called Creative Couples.

“We had heard of Tokii through our networks and were thrilled to have the opportunity to work with another successful, Canadian startup. Tokii’s such a modern story – a brilliant entrepreneurial couple working together, committed to a vision that sees the use of emergent technologies as an opportunity for more, not less, communication in marriages and relationships. More couples than ever before are choosing to create business partnerships, and Karla Stephens-Tolstoy and Alexander Tolstoy lead by example,” details Creative Couples Managing Director, Megan Williams.

The first few weeks of Creative Couples the game experienced great success, becoming one of the top ten most frequently played games among the currently available 200+ DiscoveryGames. The two startups are now discussing the possibility for a sequel game in 2012.

Oakville, Ontario – Tokii, which started 2011 with a bang, is off to a running start in 2012 by continuing a successful partnership with fellow Canadian startup Creative Couples, the Online Magazine for Couples in Business Two-gether.

Creative Couples, which started in February of 2011, has quickly become the premier online destination for couples who are partners in work as well as in love. Their weekly interviews with entrepreneurial couples in varying industries and cities reveal the love, sweat and tears that go into owning a business with your spouse. The businesses they feature are as diverse as the couples who own them – proving that “when you do something you love with someone you love, you’re virtually unstoppable.”

Their first collaborative effort, the Creative Couples DiscoveryGame, experienced amazing success, becoming one of the top ten most frequently played games from over 200+ available on Tokii within a few weeks. The game helps couples explore the possibility of being in a business together.

One of the game questions addresses why couples want to work with each other. 55% of couples answered that they want to support each other’s dreams, while 25% of men and 19% of women said the reason was to spend more time together.

“We are extremely excited to work with Creative Couples, who is addressing a real need as more and more couples are starting businesses together,” states Tokii CEO Karla Stephens-Tolstoy. “Partnering with Creative Couples to create a game has given us unique insight into issues that could arise from mixing love and work, and is helping couples to address them in a fun way.

2012 will be Tokii’s year – collaborations with world-renowned relationship experts, an ever-expanding user-base and new directions in online relationship games, and they’re happy to have Creative Couples along for the ride. The two companies are currently discussing a follow-up game for release this year.

January 9, 2012 – Toronto, ON. – On Sunday, Tim Tebow, the second-year quarterback threw a crowd-shocking 80-yard touchdown pass to Demaryius Thomas, leading to victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers in an AFC wild-card game. The victory was their 4th in OT, directly attributed to Tebow who, of course, directly attributed it to His Lord & Saviour. At 11 seconds into overtime, Tebow threw the winning touchdown, setting a new NFL record. Hail Mary, indeed. Known to many as the miracle man, Tim Tebow is considered by many as one of the best college quarterbacks ever to play the game. Tebow has quickly become a very polarizing figure due to his style of play and his spiritual beliefs; resulting in his either being revered or despised by fans.In response to this hoopla, Tokii has launched a DiscoveryGames entitled the Immaculate Reception, which allows participants to answer several questions about the rookie quarterback and his team, and then compare their selections to the community at large. This game is available to play now.Tokii has compiled some early game results which indicate the following:

45% of women think that the Broncos coaches and players view Tim’s beliefs as a divine competitive edge.

Only 28% of men and 27% of women now feel a little closer to believing in divine intervention due to Tebow.

50% of men and 45% of women believe that Tebow has won the starting QB position for next year.

28% of men and 36% of women feel that the Broncos will make it all the way to the Super Bowl
