Everywhere we went there were different stages set up with all kinds of taiko being performed. The Narita drum festival kicks off early in the morning at around 10am at the main temple with all the drummers together. It's an incredible sound when they all play and you can literally feel the earth vibrating under your feet. After that the different teams moved to their stages and performed at different times in the day. As well as being a great event it was also a beautiful day weather wise. As I write this I am feeling the effects of the sunburn that I managed to pick up after spending much of today in its rays! I'm not complaining though - I wouldn't have missed this for anything. It's on again tomorrow (April 12) so get along if you can : ) Sat, 11 Apr 2009 16:24:09 GMT The Pink Cow in Shibuya is holding an exhibition of dragon paintings, Japanese ink paintings, 'Nikko Bori' wood carvings, and drawings from April 1st to the 30th, 2009. The official Exhibition opening night is on Sunday April 12th from 5pm till late. There will be a live wood carving demo as well as a free workshop (from 5:30pm - 6:30pm), where you can have a go at carving your own! Entrance is free - yes that's right I said FREE!
