iPhone Dev-Team released a RedSn0w update fixing an issue for old bootrom iPhone 3GS owners looking to install UltraSn0w 1.2.5. iPhone3GS owners in our comments section below noticed a problem with the untethered jailbreak available for the old-bootrom 3GS. We’ve corrected that problem in 0.9.9b9d.

If you have an old-bootrom 3GS and have already used last night’s redsn0w on it, you can re-run it again without losing anything.

Just use this new version, go to Extras->IPSW and manually select the 5.0.1 IPSW, then go back and Jailbreak it again (but you can uncheck Cydia because it’s already installed).

BiteSMS 6.0 Brings Full iOS 5 Compatibility for iPhone and iPod - The latest version of BiteSMS, a souped-up replacement for your built-in messaging app, has been made available for public download from the Cydia Store.

The popular messaging jailbreak package has been in beta stage for more than a month, but now its developers have released version 6.0, with the 6.1 update following a few days after, meant to fix some bugs.

As promised on the BiteSMS change log, the jailbreak package delivers "iOS 5 compatibility, works on iPhone and iPod devices and it is fully integrated with all iOS 5 features including iMessaging and Notification Center."

BiteSMS 6.0/6.1 also brings improvements to Quick Compose and Quick Reply as well as the ability to use the native Messages icon instead of the BiteSMS one. It is also good to know that the update doesn't need a custom Cydia repository, as it is available in the BigBoss repo.

For those users who bought an earlier version of BiteSMS the new version is free, but for those who have only just got interested in this jailbreak the download price is $8.99. And perhaps the new users also need a little reminder that BiteSMS doesn't work unless they have a jailbroken iOS device.

iPhone 4 iOS 5.0.1 untethered jailbreak demonstrated on video - The developer known as pod2g is back and this time around he has posted up a new video showing off the iOS 5.0.1 untethered jailbreak running on an iPhone 4. The reason for this video? To prove to naysayers who were complaining that the jailbreak only worked on the iPod touch.

However, the jailbreak isn’t still ready to be released to the public, but pod2g did mention that it is near ready for prime time, and we’ll have to wait a few more days. It’s still not working on the iPhone 4S or iPad 2, so those of you with the newer iOS devices will have to wait. Check out the video demonstration:

iPad 3 and iPhone 5 coming out soon - Strong rumors are buzzing over at AppleInsider that a new iPad 3 will be released in the summer, with the iPhone 5 following closely behind in the fall.

Japanese technology website Makotakara got word that the main carrier in Japan, NTT DOCOMO, is currently involved in negotiations with Apple to release the next generation iPad with integrated 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) radio technology. The upcoming iPhone 5 is also expected to have LTE connectivity.

The discussions with DOCOMO took place on Apple's turf and some of the conditions are still under negotiation, but the top officials "agreed in principle" with the deal.

SketchWiz : The best iPhone apps for Japan - This is a great app and it has alot of potential. I am taking off one star because the app doesn't make full use of the iPhone 4's HD camera. I'd like the option for the output to be in a higher resolution so that the photos were printable. As it is the resolution of these photos is about 360x480 which is only good for maybe a 3x5 print out. Fix this and I'll amend my review and add the 5th star.

The user interface needs a lot of work. Should remove notepad background and make it optional, because don't want the notepad lines in every shot.
Gallery area to review photos looks cheesy.

Would recommend Toon Camera instead, which has a color pencil option.
