Petta Review: Over the last few years, we've seen Rajinikanth experiment with various types of genres. The superstar has done sci-fi films (Robot series) , a motion capture animation film (Kochadaiyaan), a commercial film that turned formula into a parody (Lingaa), and dark films that brought out the actor in him (Kabali and Kaala). But Karthik Subbaraj's Petta unleashes the entertainer in Rajinikanth that made him the superstar in the first place. And that's why the film works.

Petta's basic plot is the reinvention of Rajinikanth's biggest hit, Baasha. Karthik Subbaraj, however, keeps several variations and twists while using the Baasha template as the basic premise to avoid the risk of turning it into a predictable fare. Kaali (Rajinikanth) joins a college as its new warden and immediately has his task cut out. He soon goes about fixing things in his own playful style. He helps out a young couple in love (Megha Akash and Sanath), finds a love interest of his own in a student's mother (Simran) and puts Rowdy boys, headed by Michael (Bobby Simha) in their place. However, this isn't just a rosy, college fare as there is much more to it than meets the eye. Soon, Kaali comes head to head with Singhar Singh (Nawazuddin Siddiqui), a politician in Uttar Pradesh, and his son, Jithu (Vijay Sethupathi).

Make no mistake, Petta is a crowd-pleasing film all the way and it seems like it has been made just for the fans. In fact, it feels as if the director is ticking off a wish list of fans in the movie at various places that shows the comic side of the superstar, punch dialogues, action and of course, his inimitable style. The casting of Simran and Trisha also is curious as they are two actresses whom everyone felt had missed doing a film with Rajinikanth.

At times, watching Petta does seem like revisiting a collection of Rajinikanth's greatest hits, but nobody would complaint about that. Yes, the film does have it's issues. It drags on for a bit too long and the college sequences, especially, are an overkill. The antagonist's characters could've been written in a better way and the songs are unnecessary and jar the narrative. But Petta gives us the Thailavar that we love - in spades. It seems like Rajinikanth had fun playing the role and he shows us exactly why he is the superstar. Petta succeeds where Lingaa failed – it sticks to the formula, but it also makes it feel fresh.

Vinaya Vidheya Rama Story: Ram is one among the five orphaned boys in Visakhapatnam, adopted by a doctor who ensures them a roof to live under, with dignity. Ram goes to any extent to protect his family and he's a handful for the baddie to handle in a time of crisis. How does Ram protect his family when they need him the most?

Vinaya Vidheya Rama Review: Commercial potboilers are never expected to be believable, because the joy in watching them is their larger than life nature. And there's a certain pattern to ensuring that high for a viewer. Boyapati Srinu as a filmmaker has time and again excelled at building a perfect emotional context to his action sequences in films starring top stars. However, in the process of doing that, he's repeated himself way often and the tipping point comes in Vinaya Vidheya Rama, where Boyapati becomes a pale shadow of himself as a storyteller. The problem with Vinaya Vidheya Rama isn't the deja vu factor but the fact that the filmmaker takes the audiences and cinematic liberties for granted.

Starring a confident and a fit Ram Charan in the lead role, the premise of Vinaya Vidheya Rama is as old as the hills. Five orphans, the youngest of them being Ram (Ram Charan), are raised by a doctor in Visakhapatnam. Ram is so fond of his extended family that he gives up his schooling to take deserving care of them. Even as he grows up, Ram is quite content in not doing a job and continues his violent ways, protecting his brothers and often rubbing the wrong side of the baddies. As his elder brother Bhuvan Kumar is appointed as an election officer and flies to Bihar for duty, Ram and his family are at the receiving end of Raja bhai, a brooding don. Who's Raja bhai and how Ram rescues his family from this crisis? These are the answers you're bound to find in the second hour of Vinaya Vidheya Rama.

There's never a moment in this actioner where you feel for the characters. But for an efficient performance by Ram Charan who tries hard to give an emotional context to his outbursts and his killing spree, nothing works in favour of Vinaya Vidheya Rama. Ram's brothers are portrayed as a meek lot who have no job but to sing praises of their youngest sibling. Prashanth returns to the silver screen with a cringeworthy part as the eldest of the siblings in the family, a government officer who's always waiting to unleash a barrage of punchlines at the wrong-doers every alternate sequence.

Equally audacious is Raja bhai as the antagonist, played by Vivek Oberoi, who makes his victims wear bangles, anklets, asking them to dance in the streets for his sadistic joy. The girls in the film, Sneha, Kiara Advani among many in a typical patriarchal setup have to always look upto the men for hope. Sneha gets ample screen space but it's a clear case of the actor merely filling up the frames than doing much. There's no respite with the thumping background score and the soulless music either. Though logic isn't something you'd expect in a film of this nature, the entire thread of Prashanth sending an untraceable location over Whatsapp to Ram Charan is laughable. And this is only one among many. Vinaya Vidheya Rama is a misfire on most counts.

Fun And Frustration Review: When it comes to humour, there’s not one kind of it that’ll tickle everyone’s funny bone. Some like it subtle, some slapstick, and then there are those who like it situational, while others prefer roasts. But, there’s also the category who love to laugh their sorrows away with cliché funny message forwards about how difficult marital life really is. That is the category Anil Ravipudi is presumably looking to tap into with this film, which is filled with dialogues that truly do sound like finely tuned forwards.

Venky (Venkatesh) is an orphan looking for marriage proposals and is found suitable by Harika (Tamannaah) because she’s not looking to marry into a family. Varun (Varun Tej) is a carefree Telangana youth who is head-over-heels in love with Harika’s sister, the multi-talented Honey (Mehreen Pirzada) for a whole whopping month before her family decides to get them engaged and married soon after. However, it’s not soon before the Cobras (co-brother-in-laws) decide they’re better off without the women in their lives and decide to flee to another country. But what happens when the women decide to give them a taste of their own medicine?

The basic plot of the film has been done and dusted in Indian films so many times, there’s really nothing anyone can do to make it unique. The first half of the film seems like one long rant by frustrated men on how women always nag. The second half, which takes place in Europe, is one disjointed mess which brings in more characters, including Prakash Raj who plays the women’s family friend. Anil Ravipudi seemingly relies on the humour part of the film to pull it through so much; he seems to have decided to not invest in fleshing out any of the characters. The men are all innocent victims falling prey to the nagging women they’re married to, end of story. Logic of course goes for a toss, which is fine seeing as how the genre itself doesn’t call for much.

The good news however, is that Venkatesh is in full form here, mouthing even the most cliché one-liners with sincerity and panache; you can’t help but find yourself laughing along. He invests not just with his dialogue delivery but even the body language and expressions. Varun Tej on the other hand delivers an earnest performance, not just looking like a million bucks but holding his own in a film he could easily drown in. It is only his Telangana accent that’s a mild put off, seeing as how he’s unfortunately accompanied by Priyadarshi initially, who’s a pro at delivering even the simplest lines in Telangana with flair. Tamannaah and Mehreen, who don’t even get introduction titles like the former two do, make the best of what they’re offered. Mehreen is particular carries her character through even though it’s so easy to make her seem caricature-ish. The sad part though is despite the ample screen-time they’re given, focus seems to be on sporadically showing off their ‘glamour’ by donning them in flimsy sarees, lingerie or even bikinis. Prakash Raj, Vennela Kishore, Jhansi, Rajendra Prasad and co nail their roles, if only they had a better story to bank on.

However, give this one a chance this weekend if you’re looking for something that you can leave your brains at home for and enjoy irrespective of the tired old template. More so, give it a go for Venkatesh, who saves this film from sinking into oblivion. But give it a cold hard miss if outdated humour and gender tropes are not your cup of tea.

Varun (Varun Tej) loves Harika’s sister Honey (Mehreen Pirzada) and gets engaged to her with the same objective in mind. But what happens when the men realise they’re better off as bachelors?

New quota as Premium Tatkal (PT) Quota is being introduced by Railway with dynamic fare
pricing.
Dynamic fare stands for the fare component which may be increased with the subsequent
bookings.
Opening days booking to be allowed on/after 10:00 hrs.
Advance Reservation Period (ARP) of Premium Tatkal ticket booking is same as Tatkal ticket
booking.
Agents will not be allowed to book tickets in this quota.
Dynamic fare shall be charged for confirm passengers.
RAC/ Waitlist Ticket Booking is not allowed.
Only E-tickets will be permitted for booking.
I-ticket Booking is not allowed with this Quota.
No concession shall be applicable in this Quota.
Child passenger will be charged with full fare.
Identity card number of the prescribed proof of identity is required at the time of booking.
At least one passenger should travel with his/her ID card in original which was used at the
time of booking.
No refund is given to passengers in case of cancellation of confirm PT quota ticket.
All rules for tatkal quota booking over internet is applicable to Premium Tatkal quota also.

'Maa Annayya Bangaram 2010' Movie Review

Story: Siva (Rajasekhar) loses his parents at an early age and he takes up the responsibility of bringing up his six younger brothers (Aditya Om, Rohit, Raj Kalyan, Yashwanth, Uttej, and Bharath).All the brothers share good emotional bonding and can’t live without one another. Manju (Kamalini Mukherjee) falls in love with Shiva for his good deeds. Manju hates large families (for obvious reasons), knowing that Siva lies that he has only one brother and marries her. What happens when she comes to know the truth?

Performances: Rajasekhar is good as elder brother and he performed well. Kamalini Mukherjee looked glamorous. All the brothers have done their part well. Jhansi is good as a working woman. Jayprakash reddy played a key role. Brahmannadam and L.B.Sriram made some guest appearances. Music by S.A.Raj Kumar is Average. Cinematography is good. Editing could have been better. The story is very simple. The screenplay is not up to the mark and the narration is nothing new.

Analysis: Rajasekhar has come with yet another Sentimental and emotional flick after ‘Gorintaaku’. The movie has all the ingredients to appeal to B, C centers and masses. Story given by Bhupathi raja is a single line one which is very hard to develop with proper padding scenes. There are no additional threads to carry the movie forward. The story line itself reminds you of 90’s sentimental flicks. The story is similar to that of Vikraman’s Maa Annayya (Rajasekhar, Meena). The simple point was stretched to the maximum for duration of two and hours. Dialogues by Paruchuri are okay in parts but it is hard to bear lengthy dialogues at times. Fights are well choreographed by Kannal kannan (Even though most of them were of Wire work).Cinematography was good to some extent and editing can be better. Music by SA Raj Kumar is below average and the re-recording is as usual (a Pathos song hummed by the chorus through out the film).The Screenplay is very predictable and the Direction is old fashioned.

Rajasekhar has delivered good performance. He emoted well in the sentimental Scenes. Sai kumar has dubbed his Voice and it helped a lot. Kamalini Mukherjee is okay as the female lead; she looked glamorous and sensuous in the songs. All the actors who played the brothers role has done average job. Bharath is okay as youngest brother who is fond of food. Jayprakash Reddy got a meaty role and he shares more screen presence. Comedians LB Sriram and Brahmannadam were wasted. There is no entertainment at all. The Climax Delivery Scene reminds us of Hindi flicks SALAM NAMASTE and 3 IDIOTS.

We have to wait and see how the film fares at B, C Centers.

Story: Ramana (Krishnudu) son of MLA (Jayprakash reddy) falls in love with his college mate Lavanya (Sraddha Arya). Ramana’s father is not ready to accept her as daughter-in-law as she is daughter of a beggar Anjaneyulu (AVS). Anjaneyulu too decides to become MLA and how far he is successful in his attempt forms the remaining story.

Performances: Krishnudu repeats the same chubby looks with innocent deeds. Sraddha Arya looks sweet. AVS suited well to the role of beggar but irritates you with his over action. Jayprakash reddy and Kovai Sarala are loud. The comedians Brahmanandam, Ali, Venumadhav, Raghu babu made guest appearances. Cinematography and editing are mediocre. Music by Mani Sharma is not appealing. The story is weak and the screenplay is boring. Dialogues by Janardhan Maharshi are okay. The Direction is not up to the mark

Analysis: Kothimooka title builds a lot of hopes among the audience before entering into the theaters but AVS has done very poor work on the script side and disappoints in the narration part too. AVS has delivered one more Dud and this movie joins his previous flop list “Ori Nee Prema Bangaram Gaanu”, “Roommates”,. AVS tried to imitate EVV (titles presentation) and Jandhyala garu (comedy Presentation) but failed in substance. One thing AVS has to remember is that to deliver Comedy Hit films is not an easy task and Jandhyala garu was a successful Comedy Director because he perfectly presented burning/Contemporary (Dowry, Un Employment etc issues which are interleaved by healthy comedy.

Kothimooka has nothing to boast about, the comedians Brahmannadam, Ali, Venu Madhav appear only in the Second half (talking over Cell phone most of the times). The parody Song picturised on them as Election campaign was okay. Mani Sharma delivered very weak Music (Only one melody was good). The background Score is unimpressive. The remaining technical departments too fail in making a mark. Janardhan Maharshi is the only person who has done Average job, the dialogues are okay (Even though he reused his own previous punch/Comedy Dialogues). Ring tones of Harshavardhan’s cell phone evoked some laughs.

Krishnudu, Shradda have minimum roles more screen Space is shared by Jayprakash Reddy and AVS. Jayprakash Reddy has done okay job but AVS irritates with his over action and the message he wants to deliver is “Do Not Make Politics BUSSINESS”—by the time he delivers it (Even before the Movie ends) the Audience start leaving the Auditorium.

'RED 2010' English Movie Trailer

Red is an upcoming 2010 American action film based on the comic book limited series of the same name created by Warren Ellis and Cully Hamner, and published by the DC Comics imprint Homage. 'Khatta Meetha 2010' 1 CD PDVD Rip Hindi Movie

Khatta Meetha (Hindi: खट्टा मीठा Hindi for "Sour Sweet" ) is a 2010 Hindi comedy film directed by Priyadarshan that stars Akshay Kumar and Trisha Krishnan in the lead roles. The film is a remake of the 1989 Malayalam film, Vellanakalude Nadu, scripted by Sreenivasan, also directed by Priyadarshan and starring Mohanlal, Shobana, Nedumudi Venu and Sreenivasan. Khatta Meetha was released on July 23,2010.

Synopsis

The film revolves around a struggling road constructor, Sachin Tichkule (Akshay Kumar). He dreams big but there seems to be no chance of his dreams coming true as he doesn't have any money to bribe the babus. To make matters worse, the new municipal commissioner turns to be his former girl friend, Ganpule Madam (Trisha Krishnan), who now hates him. Even as Sachin stumbles from one disaster to another, the film brings to the fore the extent of corruption that's rampant in the system.

PLOT : Doug Riley and his wife Lois have been living a half life since their daughter Emily was killed eight years ago. Doug has coped by having an affair with Vivian, a waitress. Lois has struggled, harboring a secret and devastating sense of guilt for her daughters death. She has withdrawn into herself and hides away from the outside world, relying on hairdressers who make house calls, her sister, Harriet, and the local pastor.

When Vivian dies, Doug is lost. On a business trip to Baton Rouge he finds himself at a crossroads. And in a strip club. A 16 year old lap dancer Mallory offers him extras in a private room. He turns her down but goes home to her run down apartment and makes his own proposition. He offers to pay her $100 a day if he can stay for a while, get his head together. No sex. No strings. Mallory isn't used to getting money for nothing, but whatever

Doug rings Lois and tells her he isn't coming home.

He and Mallory settle into a certain kind of domesticity although Mallory wandering around naked and offering sex are a little off-putting!

Helpless on her own, Lois, a woman previously unable to make it the 20 yards to the mailbox, realizes she will have to take drastic action if she is to save her marriage. For the first time in 8 years, and after a couple of failed attempts, she manages to reach her car and start driving, headed south.

Back in Louisiana, Doug tidies Mallory's apartment and then sets about trying to clean up her life. Shes an underage hooker after all.

Lois, paper bag at the ready to save her from hyperventilating, makes slow but steady progress. When she finally arrives to find her husband living with a foul-mouthed young hooker, Lois is, predictably, horrified. But, like Doug before her, she is taken with Mallory's similarities to Emily. Lois moves in. And the three of them form an unusual family unit. But Mallory soon bridles at the attempts to mend her wicked ways. Shes not ready to be anyone's surrogate daughter just yet. Sparks fly.

After she is beaten up and hospitalized by a client, Doug and Lois rush to Mallory's bedside. They are asked what their relationship is to the girl. Only family are allowed in after all. Lois hesitates. Then declares that she and Doug are her parents.

Doug and Lois are finally re-united. Lois admits to Doug how their daughter died and he finally understands why she has been so consumed by guilt. The weight of the last few years are finally lifted from her shoulders and life seems like it is coming back together

But Mallory isn't about to complete the pretty picture just yet. Shes a teenager after all ..

Story: Soori (Naani), boy from Bheemili is deeply interested in Kabaddi right from childhood; his interest in the game is such that sometimes he misses even his meals. His father dies in a freak accident and he is forced to work in the farmlands dropping his studies. Naani is given chance only to play as a substitute in the game. Soori meets ---No Name-- (Saranya Mohan) in the village fest and they both fall in love. Will Soori ever get a chance to play in Bheemili Kabaddi Team?? What happened to his love forms the rest?

Performances: Naani looked apt for the role and he has done a very good job. Saranya suited well to the role, her histrionics are fantastic as usual. Kishore as Coach has done good job. The remaining cast supported well. Cinematography was good. The Art direction and Editing are Okay. Music is in mood with the film and a couple of songs are melodious. Direction is good. The production values are okay.

Analysis: Naani best suited to the boy-next-door-role, his costumes and body language was good. Saranya has done breezy role. She has very less dialogues (she dubbed her own voice), she impresses most of the times with her Sweet and cute looks. Kishore (he too dubbed his voice) after HAPPY movie got a noticeable role as Coach of the team who pumps up confidence in the Team. Artist who has done as Hero’s mother has done decent job. The reaming artists (Especially Kabaddi team Members) have done hilarious job.

The movie is remake of Tamil film ‘VENNILA KABADI KUZHU’.
The Screenplay is the same. It’s a frame to frame re-make. A Theme song was added additionally. Dialogues are very much natural and crispy. Camera work by Chitti Babu meets the requirements. The Art direction and editing are okay in the Telugu Version too. Music is good, the background Score (melodious Flute bit) is Okay. Screenplay goes sluggish in the first half while the latter part is about good piece of work. The director takes much time to establish all the Characters and the nativity gets slowly injected. The first half an hour is weak.

There are some Scenes which have come out well

• Hero Cycle-Bus Driver Race Scene
• Parota eating- Bet Scene
• Coach Inspiring Speech and Motivation Scene
• The Climax leaves us with a heavy heart

Heroine Character’s name is not revealed in the movie. The Romantic/Love Scenes between the hero-Heroine are half baked. Even though inspired from films like LAGAAN and CHAK DE, the movie has its own flavor

Plus: Performances, Heart touching Scenes
Minus: Slow First half

Verdict: A refreshing and a different film, Can be watched for performances and Feel in the film

Komaram Puli is an upcoming Telugu action film directed by S. J. Suryaah, who previously directed Kushi. The film stars Pawan Kalyan in the lead role as a cop, with Nikisha Patel, playing the lead female role as superident of police, Manoj Bajpai, Charan Raj, Nassar, Jyothi Krishna, Bhrahmaji, Ali and Girish Karnad in supporting roles and Shriya Saran appearing in an item number. The film, featuring music by Academy Award Winner A. R. Rahman, is produced by Singanamala Ramesh on a Rs. 40 crore budget and would be distributed by Allu Aravind of Geetha Arts. The film is slated for a release in August 2010

It is a duet and catchy in the first hearing itself,
The song sounds similar to “Raagala Chilaka” of Palnati Porusham

5) Dochey ------3.5/5.0
Singers : Shreya Ghoshal, Lady Kash 'N' Krissy

You are one Who make the Bad guys cry…..The cheddavallu Cry

The song sounds like an item Number, Vocals and Orchestra make a strong impact.
Shreya Ghoshal adds more sweetness with her voice in the Middle.
Don’t go deep into the lyrical meaning (They sound funny).

6) Namakame ------3.0/5.0
Singers : Chitra, Madhushree, Harini

Offering prayers to god- Devotional Bhajan Type ,Similar to Lagan’s “O Paalan haarey”

Rahman Songs make us less bothered about the lyrics any way. Don't blame the lyricist Chandra Bose -because we have heard even more worst lyrics written(literally translated from Tamil) earlier by A.M.Ratnam for Rahman Songs.

Over All a good ALBUM .
Like any other Rahman’s recent ALBUM this one too is not an instant Hit but slowly gets injected on repeated hearings.
