Meet up with a friend today and went on down to a local park here in Reno Just before Sunset. Tested out my new Nifty Fifty, unfortunately I missed focus a couple times but I still like the pics :)

I was going for a warm summer feel to the pics, C+C if you would like. This is my 5th portrait shoot. The rest of the set is on my flickr.

Another shoot with Nicole

2011-08-23T14:27:00.000-07:00

My friend Nicole and I went out downtown the other night so I could get some more practice with lighting (3rd photo shoot). Before we left my house we had some fun getting a few shots with my 68' Mustang project car. I thought i might as well place an umbrella in the engine bay since my motor is currently out, and i was pleased with the out come.

C&c if you would like.

1st Skate session

2011-08-21T00:42:00.000-07:00

Went out with some friends to test some different lighting. Had some trouble focusing towards the end due to the lack of light(forgot my flashlight), but i did some quick editing to them uploaded. Still need to do some more touch ups.

Had fun shooting the session, looking forward to more skate shoots.

Learning more every time I go shoot. C&C if you would like.
Still will need to do some touching up if one of my friends would like a print, but i was just out to practice lighting, hope you like them.

The rest of the shoot is on my Flickr

New Camera Gear!

2011-08-10T23:05:00.000-07:00

So I purchased some new camera gear that showed up on monday.
I ordered 2 YN-560 flashes, 4 Cactus V5 triggers, and some light stands.

I am loving the off camera flash concept of creating light exactly as you wish. I hope to get some portraiture practice this weekend but for now here is a few shots i got tonight of my bike.

C&C if you would like, its nothing special, just making sure everything was syncing correctly.

The first photo
Camera left yn560 with snoot at 1/2 power pointed to the top/front of bike
behind bike yn560 at 1/2 power 14mm zoom

For the last 2 pics the setup was
Camera left YN-560 at 1/8 power 20ish mm zoom
Camera Right YN-560 1/2 power 70mm zoom with snoot

Summer Storms

2011-07-30T15:35:00.000-07:00

Decided to go out and try to capture some lightning photos last night. Since there was a fire burning just above my house I decided to drive across Reno and shoot back towards my house to get the fire and storm all in one. Here are the results.

The rest of the photos cane be found here including the day after photos

And the last photo, just a quick shot of my truck at the shooting location.

2011-07-21T10:43:00.000-07:00

That's all for now.

Getting everything setup.

2011-07-21T00:30:00.000-07:00

So I'm working on getting everything setup. I Just bought my web hosting, so now I am just waiting for the setup process between the domain name and my hosting to finish on that end. While I am waiting for that to go through I thought I'd come over here and design and set up my blog.

Well I have to get to work setting everything up. More to come soon!
