If you were concerned as to how the redesign of Ford’s beloved F-150 would turn out, not to worry. The automaker announced details for the all-new 2015 Ford F-150 and we think you’ll be pleased to hear that the truck maintains its signature performance capabilities while losing weight and increasing efficiency. It doesn’t get much better than that does it?

The latest F-150 adds two new engine options that allow the truck to seamlessly pair power and efficiency.

“The 2015 F-150 is the most capable F-150 yet, while shedding up to 700 pounds,” said Bob Fascetti, vice president of Powertrain Engineering. “These two new V6 engines – the 2.7-liter turbocharged EcoBoost and normally aspirated 3.5-liter Ti-VCT – set a new standard for Ford for capability and efficiency.”

At 325 hp and 375 lb.-ft. of torque, the twin-turbo 2.7-liter EcoBoost engine improves the truck’s power-to-weight ratio by 15 percent over the 2014 F-150′s 5.0-liter V8 engine. Coupled with the Auto Start-Stop technology, which comes as a standard feature, the vehicle is more efficient than ever.

The F-150′s second new engine option is the 3.5-liter V6. It promises 283 hp and 255 pounds per feet of torque. Compared to 2014′s 3.7-liter V6, the 3.5-liter engine improves power-to-weight ratio by 5 percent.

Adding to its weight loss is the use of military-strength aluminum alloys, making the truck more durable without adding on the extra weight.

With the reveal of all-new Ford Edge man across North America and Europe have been blown away by all of the amazing new features added to this popular CUV. The new Edge is packed to the gills with fuel efficient and driver assist technology that helps make it one of the best utility vehicles in its class. These changes are going to help take the Ford Edge to over 100 markets worldwide.

Starting off the all-new Ford Edge will be larger than the outgoing model but keeping its four-door and five-seat configuration. To add to that technology, Ford is also adding features like hand’s free liftgate, SYNC, adaptive cruise control, and inflatable rear safety belts. Optional items like heated steering wheels and cooled front seats will also be available.

Even with all of that technology one of the biggest selling points though is fuel efficiency the Ford Edge brought to the table and that efficiency will only grow with the new model. In addition to the popular and proven 2.0L EcoBoost engine there will also be a 3.5L V6 and a brand new 2.7L V6 EcoBoost to provide a wide range of engine options. Combined with auto start and stop this will be one of the most fuel efficient CUVs available.

It is official; Ford is the Best Global Green Brand in 2014 according to Interbrand’s 50 Best Global Green Brands report. To do this Ford beat out fellow automaker Toyota along with big time companies like Johnson and Johnson, Coca-cola (who Ford partnered with to make use of recycled materials) and Microsoft.

The way Ford was able to be #1 among such big time competition was due to the efforts it made in environmental responsibility, sustainable manufacturing, and great disclosure in the manufacturing processes. This was particularly true in the sustainability and waste reduction in regards to clean water. These efforts are judged by Interbrand who uses extensive consumer research and performance data analyzed by Deloitte Consulting to determine the rankings.

Robert Brown, Vice President, Sustainability, Environment & Safety Engineering said, “We are honored to be named no. 1 in the 2014 Best Global Green Brands. At Ford we are working to develop the highest-quality products in the market for our customers while manufacturing them in the most environmentally responsible manner and replicating this globally. This award tells us that our stakeholders agree.”

As an intense and avid Game of Thrones viewer I often ask myself silly questions like, “What if Game of Thrones Characters drove Ford cars? With the latest season wrapping up last Sunday here are a few of my thoughts on the characters and cars.

Tyrion Lannister – Ford Fiesta: Whether he’s partying with whores and sell-swords or drinking all of the wine in Kings Landing Tyrion really knows how to have a good time. The Ford Fiesta is just that a big party in a small package and it fits perfectly.

Jon Snow – Ford Fusion: For the avid book readers who get the “A Song of Ice and Fire” references there’s a bit of rumored fusion for Jon Snow with the R+L=J not to mention Jon Snow’s the kind of guy who gets things done practically with a certain panache, just like the Ford Fusion.

The Mountain that Rides in a mountain of a truck

Gregor Clegane, The Mountain That Rides – Ford Super Duty: Gregor Clegane is one huge man and the Super Duty is one huge truck. If Oberyn Martell is say a Fiat 500 Abarth, one sees a similar result when the two collide in cars.

Sandor Clegane, The Hound – Ford F-150: The F-150 is the smaller truck offering Ford has as Sandor is the smaller of the Clegane brothers. The F-150 is also the most popular vehicle on the road and The Hound was a great GoT fan favorite before his untimely demise.

Ayra Stark – Ford Escape: This one fits in perfectly as the Escape is a nimble and tough CUV that provides everything Ayra represents and would need to get around Westeros.

The Focus St is incredibly good at avoiding holes in the floor

Petyr Baelish, Littlefinger – Ford Focus ST: The Focus ST looks like an unassuming hatchback but, when the pedal is on the floor this car blows away the competition. Littlefinger does the same thing with political maneuvers as he’s constantly overlooked while decimating his competition.

Daenerys Targaryen, Breaker of Chains, Mother of Dragons, Khaleesi, Stormborn, Unburnt, etc. – Ford Mustang: Dragons, renegade knights, and an army of Unsullied soldiers are pretty cool and flashy things to have. When you have those things you need a car to match that and the Mustang delivers. Underneath that flash though the Mustang has substance and is a great overall car just like Daenerys is a great leader.

Ser Barristan Selmy, Barristan the Bold – Ford Bronco: Both of these cars despite their increasing age just won’t die. The Bronco is a champ and there are still tons of these cars that refuse to die on their owners so it’s a perfect match.

Hodor – Hodor!

Ford is celebrating the 10-year anniversary of its Dearborn Truck Plant, which has nobly served the automaker’s vision of sustainable manufacturing since it opened back in May 2004.

More than 3,600 employees operate at the plant on a three-crew operating pattern to produce 1,200 Ford F-150 trucks every single day. Since the plant opened, it has produced more than 2.6 million F-150s, America’s best-selling truck for 37 consecutive years and best-selling vehicle for 32. Later this year, it will begin production of the all-new 2015 Ford F-150!

And the people there are pretty impressive in and of themselves. Over the last 10 years, Dearborn Truck Plant employees have donated to many charities, notably contributing over $150,000 to the March of Dimes.

Alongside trucks and charity, the Dearborn Truck Plant focuses passionately on the environment. Since 2004, it has maintained a 10.4 acre living roof—once the world’s largest according to Guinness World Records—that sustains a diverse ecosystem to reduce CO2 and energy use. The plant also uses natural light and ventilation, a special water-based paint primer and base coat, and a comprehensive waste management system to further help reduce its environmental footprint.

While Ford sent a 2015 Mustang over 1,000 feet in the air to sit on top of the Empire State Building, a group of Mustang fans in California decided to show their love for the pony car by sending one to even higher altitudes… straight up into space.

“We wanted to celebrate 50 years of Mustang and the impending arrival of the all-new 2015 Mustang by doing something really special,” said Michael Sego, Ford’s San Francisco-area sales manager, in a statement. “Mustang has always been about getting behind the wheel and hitting the open road, but we decided to take to the open sky.”

Sego teamed up with some local friends to send a Ford Mustang through the clouds. In case you haven’t guessed, however, it wasn’t a real Mustang, but smaller-sized, built to scale model. The team attached the model to a high-altitude weather balloon along with a camera and GPS unit to record the action.

The balloon reached a maximum altitude of about 110,000 feet (21 miles). The Mustang enjoyed 74 minutes of high-flying space lovin’ before falling back to Earth. Using the GPS, the group was able to retrieve the fallen Mustang about six hours after launch.

In a recently posted YouTube video, one extremely lucky Ford Fiesta driver showed off some fast-thinking driving skills by narrowly avoiding a crash on the track…. twice.

According to the comments on the video, the driver is Aaron Holder, and the Ford Fiesta is a standard three-cylinder 1.0-liter, not an ST. This was apparently his first day ever on a track, and he managed a 9:14 lap, which all things considered, isn’t too bad at all. He was also keeping pace with the BMWs and Porsches. Way to go, you fast, furious Ford Fiesta man!

By making “The Switch” to Ford, the American Pickers guys just upgraded to a whopping 487 cubic feet of portable storage space for their cross-country adventures. One thing that Mike and Frank undoubtedly love about the Ford Transit Connect is the fact that it boasts an impressive fuel economy for its size and cargo capacity, but it doesn’t sacrifice hauling chops to do so. The Transit is powered by a 3.2-liter, five-cylinder diesel engine, yielding 190 horses and 346 lb-ft. of torque.

According to Mike, choosing the Ford Transit Connect was all about maximizing their picking and hauling potential: “The biggest thing is, when the van is full, then we’ve got to come home. I’m interested in real estate on wheels. There were four or five different vehicles i was looking at, and I just keep coming back to the Ford as the better choice.”

Alan Mulally has reigned as Ford Motor Company’s president and CEO since 2006, and he has undoubtedly left his mark on the automotive world. For the past eight years, Mulally has spearheaded Ford’s progress and growth as one of the world’s leading carmakers. Ford’s current lineup is bigger and better than ever before and full of top-notch, award-winning vehicles. This success is indicative of Mulally’s impact, and it will remain a tribute to him as he officially retires from his position at Ford Motor Company on July 1. Succeeding Mulally, current COO Mark Fields will step in as the next Ford CEO and president.

Fields has been an integral part of the Ford team for 25 years, and he has served as COO since 2012. Executive chairman Bill Ford spoke extremely fondly of retiring CEO Alan Mulally’s time spent at the helm of the Ford empire:

“[Mulally] deservedly will be long remembered for engineering one of the most successful business turnarounds in history,” he noted according to a Ford press release. “Under Alan’s leadership, Ford not only survived the global economic crisis, it emerged as one of the world’s strongest auto companies. We always will be grateful to Alan for his leadership, compelling vision and for fostering a culture of working together that will serve our company for decades to come.”

While Mulally will be undoubtedly missed, Ford Motor Company is confident in his successor, Mark Fields due to his long history with the company and his already-admired leadership abilities. Mulally will be able to enjoy his retirement feeling confident that he is leaving his position in ready and able hands: “Ford’s future is so bright, and Mark – supported by an experienced and decicated senior leadership team – is absolutely the right leader to continute to deliver on our compelling vision.”
