They folded each page 3 times to create the trees. They were then sprayed and covered with glitter to make them sparkly. Ryan is one of our enthusiastic litter less lunch participators. He always has suitable lunch containers so that he doesn't need to use wrapped food items. The certificate recognizes the school's first year of participation in the contract. http://tomarataroomfive.blogspot.com/2012/12/wastewise-certificate-presented-to-ryan.htmlnoreply@blogger.com (Room 5)0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1926628082488750061.post-8128063929703454955Mon, 03 Dec 2012 09:10:00 +00002012-12-03T22:10:16.757+13:00Room 5 are practicing their stacker cup skills for the class competition. We did pretty well. We had over half the class bringing lunches that were litter free and most of the other students had only 1 item of packaged food in their boxes. We are aiming for 100% success on Wednesdays by the end of the year. http://tomarataroomfive.blogspot.com/2012/11/litterless-lunches.htmlnoreply@blogger.com (Room 5)0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1926628082488750061.post-3629483530537800011Wed, 07 Nov 2012 01:48:00 +00002012-11-07T14:55:45.848+13:00Every class at school has a special area they are developing this year as a "Pride Project". We have an area just outside the classroom that is to become a butterfly garden. Unfortunately, we had to pull our huge swan plants out as they were dying and were badly infested with aphids. So we will need to grow some more for the monarch butterflies. We learned the doctors ABC. Max was "unconscious" so Olivia talked us through the steps we need to take to help him. We learnt to check for a response and check for breathing. We practised putting people into the recovery position by rolling them towards us. We learnt what to do if a http://tomarataroomfive.blogspot.com/2012/10/learning-drs-abc.htmlnoreply@blogger.com (Room 5)1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1926628082488750061.post-5229167455551828343Tue, 23 Oct 2012 03:57:00 +00002012-10-29T18:47:21.480+13:00This year we chose a favourite animal to feature on our calendars. We used pastel for the colour work and included a pattern in the background. We used match sticks and toothpicks to give texture. We covered the pastel with dark purple dye to give depth. Then we cut our picture into rectangular pieces, chose a suitable colour for the background and pasted the pieces onto the coloured paper tohttp://tomarataroomfive.blogspot.com/2012/10/calendar-art.htmlnoreply@blogger.com (Room 5)2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1926628082488750061.post-7696123879162113346Mon, 15 Oct 2012 19:47:00 +00002012-10-16T08:47:42.672+13:00 http://tomarataroomfive.blogspot.com/2012/10/cricket-coaching.htmlnoreply@blogger.com (Room 5)3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1926628082488750061.post-1032114065239452443Wed, 26 Sep 2012 08:57:00 +00002012-09-26T20:57:27.986+12:00Cameron made a special visit to Mrs Duffin's office today to say Happy Birthday and give her a lovely bunch of flowers. We looked at the features of limericks and have tried to use the right number of syllables to make the limericks sound effective.
