My work was recently featured on the fantastic Beautiful/Decay where they included this lovely little write up of my work.

‘We bring to you Tom Dorkin, a 21 year old illustrator from London who is quite creative when it comes to showing off the natural detail in decay. Maybe the only way our future will be perfect is if we realize our commonality in being decaying mammals and that we must seize the day rather than waste away.’

Might have to pinch that one for the odd profile, thanks to Amir and Kevin at B/D.

New project added, One of the first images I have ever coloured using only digital means and I’m really happy with it how it turned out.

New project added, ‘Kyphoscoliosis.’ A series of etchings created in response to visits to the Hunterian Museum.

Also some new Drawings added to the ‘Paper’ section.

FDA Show

if you are in london on the 8th of july to the 11th it would be lovely to see you at our FDA illustration and design end of year show in Russian Club Studios (flyer below)

as you can see the opening night should be good fun (there will be free wine and Thai food, what more do you want) but we will be open for the following 3 days if you fancy a more sedate look around

New project added ‘Always Drawn Monsters.’ A poster created for Camberwell manifesto project to remind me why I decided to be an illustrator.

New project added, ‘Consumerism’. I created my own currency depicting icons or greed and capitalism, then laser printed onto various papers I could find such as store closing banners and printers waste paper.

Hammer and Sickle

The projects section of my site is now completely finished so to celebrate here is a recent illustration. Just need to finish off my information section and add a few new pieces to the drawings section then its time to start actually publicising myself.

Right now I know there are still a few bugs with the site (especially in Internet Explorer) but hopefully I will have them worked out soon enough.
