A Belated Rantfest

I know I have been gone for quite some time now in the WAR blogger world, I really wanted to keep the lairs thing going... There is more than one reason why i lost interest in keeping this up:

Lair Loot: Even after Itemizing, the loot wasn't anything special. Might have a different graphic or something, but the stats could be easily replaced with INF or PQ bag drops. There are some loot that sometimes would be an amazing drop for a class... the chance for it to drop combined with the next reason, really made people not even want to try...
Lack of interest: Once people figure out that it has a 12 hour respawn time, and you get a group to follow you around... after 3-4 dead lairs, people start going back to the grind.
Personal aggravation: For Example: You need to click on all 14 stupid headstones throughout the world to get into the lair of the defiler, along with 3 other people. Then once you do get inside the lair, it has crap for drops. Makes no sense to me at all.

There is probably more than those, but that is the main cause. I might re-do this lair information just to keep for the future.. but I will only be keeping that up, and nothing else... That is if Mythic can even keep me interested in the game. I guess the new "xpac" will decide that... I'm hoping they do something great with it, or it will be the end of WAR as we know it... I'm still never going back to WoW.

I guess if they actually make the lairs a bit harder... Like world bosses should be.. with improved loot... i would consider keeping this blog going, as well as paying a visit to the lairs as well..

PATCH 1.1!

Today is the day that 1.1.1 comes live. According to P.B.'s Youtube post, 1.1.1 should bring the new VP system.

Although 1.1.1 does not really note that the new VP system has been implemented, it does however note some other interesting things to do with ORvR.

Mysterious Love Letters from Mythic

Easiest Bestial tokens for Destruction

Just for a little post, i figured i would let you guys in on the easiest 2 bestial tokens to get once you hit 20, assuming you already did a trophy quest in Tier 1.

"Big Freeze" (Saphery):
Getting there is easy. Just fly to the warcamp in Avelorn. Once there, use the PvE road to get down to Saphery. You will hit the chapter 14, cant miss it.

Talk to Maedlaine Bloodwine in Kyaran's Advance (Dark Elf Ch14).
She is located between the mailbox and Trelan Blightblade. (seriously, thats it.)

"For the Promise of Power" (Caledor):
For this one, head south in Inevetable City untill you go through a portal into The Maw. Once there, mount up (or use your legs) and head left. Follow the side of the zone untill you get to a Dark Elf Tent. There should be a portal right after that. Head into it, go through the Fortress area into caledor. From there, just head to the coordinates given here, and its another fast token!

Click on Mound of Dirt at 32k, 22k to recieve Scepter of Maggots.
Click on the Scepter of Maggots.
Click on Mound of Dirt again. The Scepter of Maggots will disappear and you will receive credit.

Quick way to get 2 tokens, takes maybe 10 minutes with a mount.

I have taken a mini-vacation, but every where i go i seem to be in front of a computer. As i plucked away i came across this:

keenandgraev.com Mysterious package sent by Mythic.

Very interesting, the overall consensus is that they will be, or announce the plan to, introduce the Slayer and Choppa' to the arsenal of classes.

This is just speculation though, No one knows for sure if mythic will even do anything on the 29th. Keep your eyes peeled.

Protip: T2 in T4

I know most people are making alts, and are looking for a quick way into a PL group. I was lucky enough to get into one last night, and i found something that seems to be pretty unknown.

When you head out of IC to the Maw, zone into what ever T4 tree you want to go to. For this example, ill just use chaos, since you are already located there.

Once you run your way through the maw, and into chaos wastes, visit the warcamp, and talk to the flight master. Once that is done, you will always be able to fly to chaos wastes, and either reikland or praag. If praag is in conflict, then you should be able to go to both, but at the moment i am posting this reikland is in conflict on my server and im unable to visit praag, but on the dark elf side i am able to visit etaine and dragonwake from caledor and dragonwake is in conflict.

Most might already know about this, but it just seemed good enough to post. I will be doing more lair posts soon, as well as starting another blog for non-lair stuff like this, for easier browsing.

Well the year is about at an end, and Mythic threw another live event at us. Kegs End, the hangover of all hangovers! Need a little help getting that buzz? No worries, warwiki already has everything you need to know about the live event! now go get sloshed! Need more booze? check this page out at Garrison of War. Has locations for the keg cashes you need to complete Kegs End. Just make sure you don't drink too much before you get on that mount! Friends don't let friends ride Cold Ones.

Menagerie Lair

Excerpt from the ToK:

Migliod the Mad was an aptly-named wizard who desired ultimate power. Devoid of care or conscience, Migliod experimented upon many horrible beasts in an attempt to create an army of Thralls with which he could conquer the world. Like all madmen, his plan was destined to fail. Migliod's methods involved the use of enchanted horns which could be sounded to call his beasts to him. The beasts were not always pleased to be summoned which led Migliod to much misfortune at the claws of his would-be servants. As his wits begin to escape him, he fled into the Maw with what was left of his menagerie, never to be heard from again.

This lair is located in The Maw at 40k, 55k along the eastern path up from the Chaos Wastes. It contains 8 closed doors and a tower. Recently players have found that blowing riders horns that are scattered across the tiers open the doors.The monsters emerge when the rider's horns scattered around are blown. It seems that only one monster can be active at a time.

Lairs

I have been doing a lot of hunting with my fellow guildies and alliance in-game, and through forum after forum. When i started playing this game in beta, i stumbled upon a lair in Barakk Varr. It made me so excited that i found something with a level 40 hero monster in it, that no one seemed to know about. Ever since i have been hooked on them. For my first post in this blog, I figured i would cover lairs. I will be editing this post after the content has filled up to make it look more attractive. In my posts to come I will be covering larger lairs more in depth. I will be starting with the Menagerie Lair because there is a ton of information out there that i have compiled for it.

seems like people have some confusion about lairs in general.. so here are the facts as we know it:

LAIR FACTS:
Respawn Timer: 12 hours.
Instanced: No
Locations: In every tier, some in RVR lakes, some not. they are "hidden" heroes that players find on the journey to 40, or if they read this.
Drops: blue lvl 36-39 (for 40 heroes, i believe... could just be 36.. or 39.. or 38.. i just know its around there)
Accessible to both realms: Yes.
Itemized: DEFINITELY!
Wrap up: You can have 6 people, 2 people, 5 warbands, 4 warbads of order and 3 of destro, doesn't matter... its just like any other mob out there, just with a 12 hour timer... and they are hostile to both factions.

This list is incomplete. Mythic has said there are at least 30 lairs

The following heroes are less than level 40:

Lair of Kamilla (Traitor's Rest): (11) RVR (drops weapons)
Norsca: 26k, 62k
Each race must stand on a specific pedestal.
Note: not every race in-game must stand on the pedistals, just each race on your side.

Lair of Lady Alisha: (11) RVR ( drops weapons for crit chance )
Blighted Isle: 35k, 51k
Three runes must be activated north of the lair.

Lair of the Bandit Queen : (11) RVR ( drops helms for resistance and -crit )
Ekrund: 58k, 3k
Kill a player with the dark energy buff. Also heard that you can bring a BW or Sorc to kill themselves and get a rez, and it should open that way.

Lair of Krela Darkshroud: (31) ( drops weapons and chestpieces )
Badlands: 23k, 62k

Lair of the Shambler: (31) ( drops helms for block/parry/disrupt )
Black Fire Pass: 5k, 24k

The following Lairs are level 40:

Frostshard Prison:
West Praag: 23k, 44k
8 lair bosses, currently unknown how they are enabled. Get there by going east on the river in west praag, on the northern side of the river.

Migliod's Menagerie:

The Maw: 40k, 54k
8 lair bosses, enabled by clicking riders horns located throughout the war world.

Lair of Elrin Helfried: ( drops shoulders for +damage/healing )
Avelorn: 58k, 46k

Lair of Festitt: ( drops chespieces for +damage )
Caledor: 34k, 36k

Lair of the Fleshrender: ( drops Jewlery for regen/armor penetration )
Kadrin Valley: 3k, 32k

Lair of Gorthlak: ( drops boots for +parry/block/dodge/disrupt )

Behind the Battle Objective.
Must jump on a series of broken walls to enter.

"Bleakwing Perch": ( drops shoulders for crit reduction )
Talabecland: 45, 61.5
There are a bunch of nests with eagles eggs.
Kill all the eagle eggs then the Bleakwing Patriarch level 40 champion will fly down and attack you. Make sure all your party are clustered together. The first move the Partriarch will do is knock all of your party members up onto the ledge. Inside the cave is the Bleakwing Matriarch level 40 hero.

The Matriarch has a really nasty AOE move that takes off approximately half health. Not sure whether it's cone or random or what.

"Grimshimmer Tower": Saphery: around 46k, 60k (drops chestpieces)
Arixxis the Scout, a tiny sprite, has been seen sputting all over this area.
He is a neutral level 40 champion. Once killed, he drops an item named Grimshimmer's Ley Stone used to port up to the ledge above. The tower is filled with champ harpies. Deep in the tower is the hero, Lady Grimshimmer.

Lairs that require special ways to gain access:

Lair of the Defiler: Ostland: 7k, 62k (drops unknown)
(currently unknown how to enter)
"Seven Lords with Seven Sons
Faith corrupted, life undone.
For young pilgrims, four to come."

Lair of Gholnaros the Deathless: Dragonwake: 23k, 42k (drops weapons, shields, offhands for +/- threat, -parry/disrupt/dodge, +healing )
To open this lair you must find all three dragoneyes. Each one is found in a random location in the tier 4 High Elf/Dark Elf RvR Lakes.

Red - Caledor
Blue - Dragonwake
Pink - Eataine

Xaphan the Pyre Lair: Caledor: 54k, 27k ( drops weapons for +healing/damage )
Requires clicking on six candles around the world. (They are named Altar of Xaphan in-game.) After you have clicked all 6, you open the book in front of the lair. One person needs to click all of the candles in order to click the book to open. You can click the candles and go to the lair whenever you want after that, there is no timer on them. Once you use them on the book, in order to open it again you need to go back and click all six candles.
