[News!] My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU Gets More Anime

The ongoing anime My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU (Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Come wa Machigatteiru./My youth romantic comedy is wrong as I expected.) received four major announcements on Thursday:

1. The anime will adapt the content from Wataru Watari's original light novel series up until the sixth volume (with the cultural festival story). Shogakukanjust published the seventh volume in March.

2. The production and broadcast of a brand-new anime-only spinoff episode has been green-lit. The spinoff episode will air the week after the 12th episode of the main series airs.

3. Production on a separate new original video anime has also been green-lit. This video anime will be bundled in the limited edition of the tentatively titledYahari Ore no Seishun Love Come wa Machigatteiru. PlayStation Vita game this summer from 5pb.

4. Watari himself is writing the scripts for the anime spinoff episode and the original video anime bundled with the game. Both will depict stories that were not in the original light novel series. This will mark Watari's anime screenwriting debut.

Watari's romantic comedy revolves around an antisocial high school student named Hachiman Hikigaya with a distorted view on life and no friends or girlfriend. When he see his classmates talking excitedly about living their adolescent lives, he mutters, "They're a bunch of liars." When he is asked about his future dreams, he responds, "Not working." A teacher gets Hachiman to join the volunteer "service club," which happens to have the school's prettiest girl, Yukino Yukinoshita.

In addition, a My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU advertising bus will be running service from May 18 to May 26 in Tokyo's Akihabara, Shinjuku, Shibuya, and Ikebukuro areas. Crunchyroll is streaming the anime series outside of Japan as it airs, and Sentai Filmworks licensed the anime for North America. The seven light novel volumes have over 1 million copies in print.

[News!] Daisuki Anime Streaming Site Launches

Daisuki, the new anime streaming and commerce service for fans outside Japan, launched on Wednesday. The site aims to aggregate popular titles from multiple platforms in one place, including the following in its launch lineup:

These series are or were available separately on various streaming websites. Daisuki President and CEO Kunihiko Shibata stressed that the company is looking to work side by side with other services such as Funimation andCrunchyroll, and Daisuki has no plans to pull series' licenses from those websites.

Advertising and marketing company Asatsu-DK Inc. holds the highest share in Daisuki at 26.3%. Anime studios and sponsors Aniplex, Sunrise, Toei, TMS Entertainment, and NAS hold equal shares of 13.4%, while Dentsu holds a 6.5% stake.

The June issue of Kadokawa Shoten'sNewtype magazine is reporting on Friday that production on a second season of theChūnibyō demo Koi ga Shitai! television anime has been green-lit. A teaser had aired in March to reveal that the anime has had its "contract renewed," but it did not specify that there would be a second season on television.

The television anime's first season hadpremiered in Japan last October. Sentai Filmworks acquired the series for digital and home video distribution in North America, andThe Anime Network is streaming the series.

A New Anime this fall 2013

Publisher Kadokawa Shoten revealed on its website that an anime adaptation of Hajime Segawa's Tokyo ESP manga has been green-lit. The science fantasy story begins with Rinka, an extremely poor high school girl who lives with just her father in modern Tokyo. One day, she is going home from school when she chases a "flying penguin" to the top of New Tokyo Tower — only to have "fish swimming in the air" suddenly appear before her. One of the fish goes through Rinka and gives her extraordinary powers beyond those of normal humans, particularly the ability to slip through solid objects.

Segawa launched the "afterschool psychic action" series in Kadokawa's Monthly Shōnen Ace magazine in 2010, shortly after endingThe Enchained Spiritual Beast Ga-Reisupernatural action series. Kadokawa is publishing the eighth compiled book volume ofTokyo ESP on May 25.

Ga-Rei's "afterschool underground spirit-hunting action" story inspired the Ga-Rei: Zerotelevision anime series in 2008. Funimation released this anime in North America.

Sypnosis:

Urushiba Rinka was a fairly normal high school girl, though she was a bit poor and her only family was her father. Then one day, she saw a penguin and some glowing fish swimming through the sky. Rinka might have thought it was a hallucination if there hadn’t been another witness with her, a boy from her school with a strangely scratched-up face.

Contact with a fish caused her to pass out, and when she awoke, she had developed the power to move through inanimate objects… such as the floor of her apartment! Later, a call from her father showed her that she was not the only one the flying fish bestowed with hard-to-control superpowers! What exactly is going on here? And does Rinka’s classmate know more about this situation than he’s letting on?

[NEWS] Attack on Titan Staff Apologizes for Unfinished Episodes on 3 Stations

"Attack on Titan (Shingeki no kyojin) Committee Apologizes for not finishing ep4 and 5 in time..."

The Attack on Titan production committee issued an apology on Wednesday for not finishing episodes 4 and 5 in time to air on three stations. Broadcasters FBS, Hokkaido TV, andTOS TV Oita only received parts of the episodes, resulting in a difference in content compared to what the stations MBS,Tokyo MX TV, TV Aichi, and BS11 showed.

The committee cited differing deadlines for broadcast stations as the cause, but promised to dedicate more time and staff to the production to prevent the issue in the future. Character designer and chief animation director Kyoji Asano posted an ad on Twitter last month to recruit animators to join the anime's staff.

The series is currently airing on MBS in Japan, andCrunchyroll and Funimation are streaming it as it airs in North America and abroad.

Kuroha's story about an afterschool club for girls who don't have a club

Square Enix's web magazine Gangan Online announced on Thursday that a television anime adaptation of Kuroha's Kitakubu Katsudō Kirokumanga has been green-lit for this July.

"Kitakubu" (literally, "go-home club") is Japanese slang for kids who go home instead of joining clubs, sports, or other afterschool activities. In one high school, there is a real "Kitakubu" of girls who do whatever they like. The president is a free spirit named Sakura, while Botan is the combative heir to a school of ancient martial arts. Claire happens to be the daughter of the head of the powerful Kokonoe conglomerate. Natsuki joins the club at the invitation of another freshman, Karin, but she is unprepared for the hijinks there.

Kuroha launched the manga on Gangan Online in August of 2011, and Square Enixpublished the second book volume last November.

Rewrite is set in the fictional city Kazamatsuri where treeplanting and afforestation have caused the city to become overgrown with trees and flowers in much the same way that other cities are filled by buildings. However, while most of the city appears to be rural, there are many traditional city elements as well. While set in a modern setting, the city also gives off a strange sense of nostalgia. The basis of the story is set in a high school setting. The first half of Rewrite primarily consists of the characters interacting in many everyday, enjoyable scenes. The latter half, however, is more serious, emotional, and carries a sense of mystery to the plot.

As indicated by the title, rewriting is the theme of the game's scenario. The tagline for the game is, "Could it possibly be rewritten, that fate of her's?".
