I wanted to say thank you to each of you for your hard work, financial support, and prayers during my campaign for Lieutenant Governor. Because of you, I made it to the Second Republican Primary. Though it didn’t end as we had planned, we stood by our conservative principles and ran a clean campaign – and I am proud of our efforts.

Now is the time to stand together as Republicans. I look forward to helping Pat McCrory become our next Governor, and I hope you will join me in those efforts.

Also, if you see any remaining campaign signs on our roads, please pick them up and dispose of them appropriately.

Once again, thank you for your support.

The Rhinoceros Times, Greensboro’s leading weekly conservative newspaper reaching over 40% of Guilford County’s adults aged 18 & older, has endorsed Tony Gurley in his race for Lieutenant Governor, adding to Gurley’s already lengthy list of conservative endorsements from across North Carolina.

John Hammer, editor of the The Rhinoceros Times, had this to say: “The difference [in this race] is in experience. Gurley has been on the Wake County Board of Commissioners for 10 years and served three as chairman. He has learned how to work with boards and commissions and get things done. Wake County, unlike Guilford County, has made real cuts in its budget and that isn’t easy… It seems Gurley would have a better chance of hitting the ground running and getting things done.“

“I am honored this large grassroots group has endorsed my campaign for Lieutenant Governor. The momentum is building around my campaign because North Carolinians know I have real experience in protecting our freedoms as Americans, including the right to keep and bear arms, and I will fight to protect & preserve these freedoms as Lieutenant Governor.”

Friends,

As a member of the North Carolina House of Representatives, I understand what it takes to be an effective leader and public servant to the citizens of North Carolina. I also know the importance of having an effective leader in the position of Lieutenant Governor to preside over the North Carolina Senate. To be effective, one must have prior experience in a leadership role, as well as prior experience with the legislative & budgetary process.

I have known Tony Gurley for years in his capacity as a Wake County Commissioner and local small business owner. Since being on the Wake County Board of Commissioners, Tony has served as Vice Chairman in 2005 and as Chairman in 2006, 2007 and 2010. Tony also has a proven record creating jobs, cutting spending and balancing a budget, while also being a strong advocate for the marriage amendment, voter ID, and government accountability & transparency. He has also been a successful small business owner sine 1984. That is why, with great honor, I announce my support of Tony Gurley in his race for Lieutenant Governor.

Supporting Tony should be an easy decision and I hope that you will join me in supporting him in his candidacy for Lieutenant Governor.

I look forward to working with him when he is elected Lieutenant Governor.

Best,

Friends,

My conservative message of promoting economic growth, creating better government transparency and becoming a champion for small businesses has been effective. I have real experience creating jobs as a small business owner and real experience balancing a budget as a Wake County Commissioner. We don’t need someone who will require on-the-job training; we need someone with real experience.

But I need your help to spread that message. Will you help me become the Republican nominee for Lieutenant Governor by helping me raise $10,000 in 10 days? With your contribution of $250, $100, $50 or $25, I know we can be successful.

With you help, I know we will maintain our momentum leading into July!

Thank you for your continued support,

Tony

As we gather with family & friends to enjoy this Memorial Day weekend across our beautiful state, let us not forget the brave generations of our Armed Forces who have fought abroad to preserve our great freedoms here at home. These heroic men and women of our military have made America the free & glorious nation that she is today. Without you, there would be no us.

Just this past weekend, I watched my son, Robert, graduate from college as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army. He will be stationed here in North Carolina at Fort Bragg. I could not be more proud of him in his choice to serve our country.

Again, thank you to all veterans, past & present, of the Armed Forces. You have made America safe and free!

“I would like to congratulate all candidates who ran for Lieutenant Governor. I will be filing for the runoff election to be held in July because North Carolina needs a businessman in office, not an aspiring career politician. I will continue to run on my record of cutting spending, making government transparent and protecting traditional marriage. I have not been running for office for the last two years, but I have been working. I will use my small business experience to bring economic prosperity back to North Carolina.”
